Almost 5 Stars
This game is great and I really want to give it 5 stars. But sometimes the camera just decides to move on its own to show you you’ve completed a level, even as you’re clearly growing a tree to go for a bonus challenge. This “feature” has killed my trees dozens of times. If the developer adds a setting that turns off automatic camera movement, it’d be an easy 5 stars.
Iuttrfggg,
Oh my gosh!🤩🥹
This game is amazing. Just by the start of this review, some of y’all reading this might think it’s spam, it’s not. I pre-downloaded this game so I could see what it was all about. Just the first chapter had me HOOKED. It took me only 5 hours to finish the game. By the end of the game, I was in tears, not only because it was over, but, because it has a silent storyline that speaks volumes. In my opinion, Prune isn’t just a game about trees, it’s a game that shows just how we are destroying our planet. Once you finish the game, reread my review, and I guarantee, you’ll agree. Huge props to the developers, because this is one of the best games I’ve played since Apple Arcade came out. While this game looks easy, I’ll tell you first hand, the further you get, the harder the levels get. For a mobile game, it has great physics and great graphics, especially considering I was playing it on my iPhone 11 Pro. It runs like a breeze and will only lag if you’re on less than 10% battery not connected to a charger. I would highly recommend this game, especially if you love puzzles, and even if you don’t, you’ll still get a kick out of this game. A great deal of gratitude go to the team behind this game, because it’s definitely one of a kind, and I could play it 5 times over. Now this review is getting pretty long, so I’m going to wrap it up. I wood end it with a tree pun, but Elm totally stumped.
Bakhita Andrew,
Stunning, Silent Storytelling
I don’t usually leave reviews, but I simply need to talk about this game. I’ve never gotten through a game so quickly and been so disappointed that I’d already reached the end, after about an hour of play. Prune has the simple strategy of other puzzle games, but tells a fantastical story behind the scenes. The “protagonist” is nameless but identifiable in our everyday lives. Prune takes you through the story of the trees which once only had to battle other natural conditions to fight for light. You can see the beginnings of industry and the trees’ concern only for survival, and at last their sabotage of and battle against the world that stopped caring for what gives it life to begin with.
Parent342013,
A puzzling story!
(TREE PUNS INCLUDED IN THIS REVIEW!) If you haven’t noticed, the levels a a story of how a city grows! First, it’s just wide open area, then it shows that city builders destroy trees (that’s the red dots) then it shows that trees have very little space to grow in a city, then the scaffolding like stuff begins and well, the city has begun, then the pollution starts, and I haven’t gotten further than V (5). I think it’s a great game! It’s puzzling, addictive and very fun! I also have just one suggestion, create your own levels! That wood be really fun! This review has come to a close and Elm hoping you will use my idea! Thanks for reading! By-eeeee!
Orisinal Fan,
Oddly Relaxing
I didn’t think I would enjoy this game that much initially. It is all based on one very simple albeit interesting original mechanic. The art style is very minimalist and simple. I found myself playing it all the way to the end. It was strangely relaxing and very pleasant with a good level of challenge. Sometimes you need to just start over with a tree u till it seems possible but that’s fine. It feels very organic. Nice job developers!
coneill908,
So I’m not a review person but
This game warrants a review. The game itself is amazing: gorgeous minimalist graphics and zen music. However, the description might confuse players. The phrase “a unique digital plant in your pocket” leads one to believe they are downloading simulation-type game, but this is definitely a puzzle game. That being said, the game is amazing. It’s very reminiscent of World of Goo, in the best way, from the shadowy, windy atmosphere to the dark music. Great game, bad description! :)

Clever but messy
I don’t know if this is the fairest critique because of the nature of the game, but the naturalistic nature of the puzzle element means that you can do the right solution, but get the wrong result, because the tree decided to grow in a shonky way. It’s still an inherently fun and unique way to interact with a game. The aesthetics are also on point, and it has just enough levels to feel satisfied when reaching the end.
cookiecreepergamer,
Amazing game
Literally the best puzzle game I’ve played on mobile. It’s so fun just creating different trees for the puzzles. I do have a question however. What are those white glowing trees? I found one and tapped on it and it disappeared. It seems there is something more to them.

Disappointing ending
Game has a remarkable lack of direction and while fun and challenging ends with a whimper instead of a satisfying conclusion. It’s especially true of the blue flowers which is a secondary goal on several levels that isn’t obvious in the least. I went back and redid every level until I got all the blue flowers as well and recompleted the last level. It led to the conclusion which I won’t spoil except it’s fairly lame.
ABesq,
Wish I read the reviews first
I absolutely loved this game and played all of the way through in less than two hours. This stunning game is like any other. At the end, I genuinely felt a bit of melancholy, what now? It’s over? I played it on iPhone and I might re-play it on iPad again sometime. The story, the simply but beautiful visuals, the actual puzzle play: love and melancholy. From a video game. Wild.
