Craftydork 900,
Game is adorable but glitchy and a bit forceful
I love that this game has cottagecore-esque vibes! The animals are cute and sweet, and the flowers, plants and bugs and things, and puzzles are beautiful. I do find that it has some glitches though that can get annoying at times. Right now though, my biggest annoyance is that I’m on level 440 and it’s making me go through the tutorial again of basic ways to play. About 10 levels or so before it was explaining to me what a carrot was in game and how to clear it, at the beginning of said level. This level 440 now is telling me what hedges are and that I need to make a power up to clear them. Not only did I learn all of this several hundred levels ago, but it’s a standard “3 match game” technique. So I’m not quite sure why I’m being forced (it’s actually forcing me to create a bee power up to destroy the hedges) when I just passed the previous level (339) by already removing hedges. Is there a way to opt out of tutorial mode altogether? I couldn’t find one but maybe I missed it. Because then it’s at least my choice. Anyone getting this far knows this mechanic of the game already. If you’re introducing something new by this time, that may be one thing, but I may still choose to skip it. Generally though I want to learn, so let it be my choice. I just don’t like being forced to learning the same thing when I’ve understood it for several hundred levels already.
WibbleMcWobble,
Pretty good but some quirks
Edit: I forgot this - sometimes levels just don’t show you how many moves you have. The number doesn’t show up, but once you get to 5 moves or less the twinkling “panic” effect still shows. Ha.

As of just a minute ago, I completed the last available garden after level 522. It is true, as other reviewers have noted, that some levels just come down to luck - you have to try them again and again and hope the stars align. Fortunately this isn’t a game that uses the “energy” mechanic, and you’re not limited to tries. Here are some things that stuck out to me: 1) no matter how hard the level, you still gain the same number of “seed points,” which is kind of annoying. Surely I should get more points for a “super hard” level than the tutorial levels at the beginning, especially when the prices increase as the game goes on. 2) several times, I chose the second “keep playing” option at 750 coins that promises ten more turns and a butterfly, but no butterfly! 3) after level 500 or so, I randomly got tutorial information again. Yep, that’s a carrot. Got it. 4) I’ve finished the available game and there are 3 achievements I don’t have - 15 birds in garden, earning a certain number of coins, and hidden. I don’t really care but it’s strange! 5) in the Japanese garden, sometimes the koi are swimming through the grass which is hilarious.
suezyg23,
Relaxing game at night
Update: Since the latest update I can’t pick weeds on the newest garden…nothing happens. Now I have a ton of weeds and it looks crappy. Also one of the cactus that you plant doesn’t show up. Not a huge deal but it’s annoying for sure.

First I love playing a game without having to watch an ad. I’m so glad this one is in arcade. I also like that it’s not pay to play. I have been playing for a while and each level offers different level of difficulty. It seems each level is pretty fresh and not repetitive. I’m on the last garden and level 554. The only “negative” thing I can say is offer more amounts of seeds and coins for the harder levels (orange or red). There doesn’t seem to be incentive to beat them really. Also, with the red levels, you more than likely have to use a power up and those cost coins. Like 50 coins for green levels, 75 for orange and 100 for red. Seeds I’m ok with grinding out but it would be nice to gain more seeds for the red levels. Other than that, it’s a solid game, not easy, not hard…just perfect. I’ll definitely give it 5 stars if we can get a boost in coins/seeds. Definitely in my top 3 game list.
Alesair,
Not complete?
Also had the weird tutorial review levels but on the last garden; the orchid one there aren’t enough levels to earn enough leaf coins? The red ones; to unlock all of the plants and animals for the garden. I apparently made my way through all of the available levels and just have bonus levels that don’t even let me earn both types of coins

It was a fine game. I clearly played a lot. The gardens and characters are cute and thought went into them. But I think I got to a point several hundred levels ago where I could have gone for either the flowers changing based on the garden you were working on and/or new game mechanics because nothing really changes once you get the different obstacles you need to clear (daikon, snow, grass, boxes, lawn, moving water and maybe im missing one or two) now I’m questioning why played so much haha.

Anyway it is nice and calm compared to others match 3 style games but still room for innovation and surprises.
PamPlamoUsse,
Fix the programming
I like match threes and I hoped that, with a subscription to Apple Arcade, I would get one that didn’t play like one where you basically have to drop cash on power ups to get ahead… Nope. While I may not be sinking extra cash into the app, there are a number of levels that will trap you for just as long as a pay to progress match three. The birds, which remove a random tile after blasting the four around it always seem to choose the LEAST useful tile to remove, and the majority of the levels I get stuck on are not labeled hard or super hard.

A number of these levels don’t benefit from using a power up at start because they have a small play area to begin with that can restrict their usefulness. The amount of bonus coins earned for extra moves retained at the end is limited to only 10, making the max amount of coins earned only 50, which seems rather stingy considering this is not a pay to progress game.

While I understand that difficulty should increase as the game progresses, having a match three that is part of a subscription service play like one for a pay to progress is a rather rude thing to do to your customers, and it’s the ONLY reason I gave a two star rating.
DDReviews,
Why are there boosters?
Seriously why do they exist if they are nearly impossible to purchase? I have completed all of the available gardens and for nearly the entire time I had zero boosters or coins because they are ridiculously expensive. And when I did use them more often that not they were simply wasted. Did you guys just repurpose the system from some freemium game? Do you not understand how Arcade works and think you will somehow be able to sell them for real money? Making levels easier is not the answer. Giving way more boosters is the solution. They should be given daily for logging in. They should be given when you fail level. Getting a single booster as a “gift” after clearing 20 plus levels is an insult. How about a real reward like 5000 coins so you can actually buy a decent selection of boosters? The gardens and their inhabitants are adorable but it is not fun to replay a level repeatedly until it starts spawning endless boosters to allow you to clear it. It would be more satisfying to have a steady stream of boosters to deploy strategically. I can’t recommend this game until you rebalance the system.
Meghxn,
Great
I really enjoy the game, and I think the semi recent update where the new garden was added was really helpful to the game. The daily rewards, being able to play still to get more in game currency even if you’ve finished what’s currently available is nice. All the new things you guys added I would say definitely made the game better. My only issues are 1. the same thing everyone else complains about, sort of. some of the levels do feel nearly impossible without anything to help and sometimes the help does nothing. i just repeat the level over and over again until i eventually get it. i will say the methods added recently have made getting boosts more attainable. 2. this is not too big of an issue, i just keep finishing the game before you guys make more gardens. so i just wanted to make it known that i’m done and want more animals lol. i’m sure you guys are working hard on the next update, i just can’t wait!!
meowingabyss,
Needs improvement still
It’s fun enough for the most part and very cute but has a bunch of balance issues. Power ups are crazy expensive but you’re limited to 50 coins per win meaning it’s impossible to buy them. I’ve been stuck on the same level for probably a week because I can’t use a booster at the beginning because there’s only one move by design so there’s no way for me to give myself a leg up- this level isn’t even listed as hard or very hard. You can’t go back and play previous levels to earn resources either. Some power ups don’t feel very helpful- the bird seems to always go to the least helpful tile it can go to while still technically fulfilling its duty of making a move that contributes to a victory goal. I also noticed that the move suggestions sometimes come up as you’re making a move and suggest something impossible. Overall it’s fun and cute but extremely frustrating at some points and still needs work.
Jez1122,
Fun at first….
This is really fun at first. You can earn coins, not use them and have them when you need them. But I am like at level 175ish and it’s much harder now (the game definitely changed difficulty around level 150ish) and it’s turned into every other game like this. I am thankful I am not going broke playing it but I have no coins and no helpers and there’s no way to really earn any other than 40-50 per level - when it costs 500 just to add 5 moves to one level and way more than that to buy helpers. The game never gives you more coins per win as you advance. It always stays the same and the reason I always quit games like this is because I want it to be fun and relaxing. I don’t mind playing a level a few times but I am not going to play one level over and over and over for hours or days on end. That’s when I hit delete…. the little random and very sporadic gifts and bonuses are not near enough.
ThistleNana,
Perfectly Good Game
I’m absolutely confounded by all the reviewers who are running out of coins and bonuses. I’ve completed all the way through the Japanese garden (which I think is something like 400+ levels) and am now on bonus level 102. I still have 23,357 coins to use if I need them, and all my bonus items are full.

This game gives you everything you need to succeed, and I’ve only felt that bonus items or extra turns were NEEDED to win maybe 10 times in this whole game. I think a lot of people are too used to spending a ton of cash on “pay to win” games and aren’t trying hard enough to learn any strategy.

I’m not even very good at these kinds of games, but I haven’t hit a single point of frustration. As long as you don’t rely on bonus items/turns for every single level you’ll enjoy this game.
