The concept is amazing and the device seems to work perfectly, but the app crashes too often. I’ve had two practice sessions since receiving the MLM. Both times I’ve had to restart the MLM device and app multiple times because the app will crash and quit just before practice starts. Once it gets going, I can hit between 5-15 shots before the app crashes again, and I have to start over. Please fix this because it has so much promise...
Two more quick observations that may help others. First, beware of hitting towards the setting or rising sun. The camera loses the ball and won’t register a shot. Second, although the camera based club selection seems like a cool feature, I’ve yet to get it to work. I’ve tried different clubs, lighting conditions, etc. to no avail. Save yourself the frustration and just select the club on the app. Better yet, enable voice command 😄

Solid App But Still Needs Work
I’ve owned my Rapsodo personal launch monitor now for 2 months and I must say it has performed better than expected. The unit never fails to pick up the ball off the clubhead and data is relayed within seconds to your iPhone. The app displays distance, ball speed, and launch angle, but unfortunately does not have an option to toggle on or off other crucial pieces of data, namely club head speed. While club head speed is displayed after you end a session and look at the session summary, not having it displayed on a real time swing by swing basis is a big time limitation to the app. Additionally, it would be nice for the unit and the app to pick up practice swing speeds, as many folks employ super speed training to their practice regime, but as of now this feature does not exist. However, the numbers that are displayed are remarkably accurate when compared to pricier machines, and having video feedback of every swing during a practice session can be a nice touch at times too. Give us iPhone users the ability to toggle on swing speed and this app would get 5 stars from me.

It took a little while to set it up. That being said. I have tried a few different budget friendly lunch monitors. They all have their pros and cons. This one is my favorite. Shot Tracing. I love the video feedback.
I love that it shows you How far off line you are right to left. No other portable launch monitor does this for you. That is budget friendly.
I am in Florida. Unfortunately the Florida sun overheats your phone rather quickly. This is a drawback. That being said it is a drawback to most of these kind of devices. You just need to get to the range extra early in the morning. Which I should do anyways.
Would love to see a indoor version or net version.
I’d like to see a way to keep a backup battery on the phone while using the MLM. Not a deal breaker. Maybe they could make the MLM bigger with a bigger battery that also charge the phone while in use.

Rapsodo MLM
After getting back into playing golf two years ago and wanting to improve my game. I knew I needed something to help with that. After researching MLM’s for the past six months, I decided on the Rapsodo MLM. It was the right price point and had the features I was looking for to include shot tracing and video recording. I knew I made the right choice and it does not disappoint. I would like to see the ball spin rate added to the stats, with a future update, but overall a great product. Right out the gate the setup was a breeze and connected with ease. This will definitely help me dial in my club distances, especially club gapping. I look forward to seeing results from the range out on the course. I have recommended the MLM to all my friends who are looking to improve and elevate their game.

Those looking to buy this product need to hear these things (not commenting on “is it worth it”)
Pros (if you *pay* for subscription):
•You get a load of different measurements.
•Number accuracy is pretty fair. Compared it to a Top Tracer, numbers seem to be close.
•The interfaces for range are pretty nice. Nothing super flashy, but gives bare bones essentials.
•Additional features are at additional cost, but the info provided sheds light on certain ways to get better.
Cons:
•As you begin a “session”, your data is being loaded shot after shot. The sync time has a large lag if you hit multiple shots sequentially.
•Untracked shots happen more than they should. You could be hitting the same club time after time, and all of a sudden you could get a series of 1-4 shots that don’t get tracked.
•Sessions get deleted. This has happened (to me) for 6 straight sessions. This is solely app related.
•The app/MLM combo is absolute battery killer. I STRONGLY recommend charging both unit and phone to 100% before session.
Conclusion: At the time this is written, I would not recommend this product *YET*. They have tons of room for improvement. If you’re set on buying a personal launch monitor, consider waiting until app features are improved so you are creating more value for yourself.

First, I primarily use the launch monitor into a net at my home. When I use it at the range the distances are 10 to 20 yards different. This makes club selection very difficult.
Second, the app crashes several times during use. I would say it crashes around every 30 swings. I have to exit the app, restart and go back to my session. Meanwhile, if I didn’t notice it then it’s possible I missed several swings and there are only so many one can hit in a day. That can be a big loss of data, which is what I’m trying to accumulate. (FYI, I have a fully updated iPhone 11 Pro Max).
Third, the usability of the app is very poorly thought out. There are several places throughout where there are simply no buttons to exit the screen. One example is if you look at an instructors drills. There is no exit button. One must close the app and reopen. Other places it’s just assumed that a user can figure it out. An example is the swipe left to view videos of your swing. That took some time to figure out.
It would also be great to be able to see the swing speed instead of ball speed while in play mode.
Please work on the UX so things are obvious. I don’t want to return the MLM just because the app is poorly developed.

You want to improve? This is a must have tool.
Want to improve your game and stay sharp during indoor Winter practice sessions you must have a LM. Purchased a G80 Garmin and had to return it after 1 week. Not happy with Garmin accuracy. Had my Rapsodo MLM since Christmas 2020. Same price with a big difference in performance, features and accuracy.
Video capture with with launch telemetry has given me tremendous quality feedback that is stored in the cloud for instant review. Ball and club speed is 99% accurate compared with several all other higher priced LM’s.
There has been 3 upgrade downloads since my purchase. I’m told other great upgrades to come. Like a notes section where you can make audio annotations on particular swings. Customer service is incredible. Have an issue or question drop a note to the company and they get back to you ASAP. I also got the annual subscription so I have unlimited video reviews.

Rapsodo MLM
I’ve had Rapsodo for about a week. It’s a neat product. Setting it up was very easy. I looked at prior reviews prior to purchasing and the one time configuration process seemed to confuse some people. The goods news is that it appears that Rapsodo found a way for the launch monitor to be auto-configured now. That means no need to configure it yourself. You can open the box, charge it up and pair it your iPhone and be ready to go within a few minutes.
As for the product and its accuracy, the carry yardages appear accurate based upon my known shot distances. The shot tracer is a cool feature and also appears accurate when comparing it to my ball flight of the shot struck.

Amazing for the Price!
I got my Rapsodo last week, charged it up and hit the range! It worked great and was so cool to see my numbers. I’m a newer golfer and I really need to get the range of each club dialed in. The stats are incredible for the price and seem to be incredibly accurate. It appears that they are working on an upgrade that will allow this to be used indoors too and I can’t wait! The only issue I had is it’s over 100 degrees in Arizona right now so my phone got too hot and I had to stop using it with the Rapsodo device. Without the phone it won’t work...nothing We can do about Arizona heat...it is what it is!

Great concept ruined by glitchy app
I bought my MLM last year and had high hopes for it. But I have had so many problems with it (using iPhone 11 Pro) that I could never recommend it to anyone.
Often while recording swings it will be working perfectly fine. But without fail at some point during a session it stops working. The LED on the unit will turn blue, a sign that it recognizes I took a shot, but it will not actually record it. I have to either turn it off and on again to get it to start working or move the unit around (even though it was fine for a dozen previous shots). On top of that, I paid for some coaching sessions through the app but there’s so many problems getting them uploaded it’s a broken experience.
