Description

It's been a few years since the zombpocalypse turned the world's cities into graveyards and sent the few survivors into hiding. Now you must gather them up and restore civilization to a ruined city, one building at a time.

Rebuild 3 is a strategy sim game with a good helping of narrative and dark humor. It's a thoughtful game that'll make you fond of your survivors before you send them to their deaths for the greater good. As you expand your fort to new buildings, you'll decide between farms or fortifications, housing or hospitals, and make tough decisions to fend off raiders, illness, starvation, and madness. And the dead are still out there wandering the streets, hungrier than ever.

This sequel to the "unputdownable" Rebuild Mobile (aka Rebuild 2) is much MUCH bigger. Just check out these features:

- 4X style strategy and city (re)building
- Endless replayability with randomized cities and events
- Survivors with individual skills, perks, relationships, and stories
- Rival NPC forts with their own agendas, friendly or otherwise
- Campaign Mode, a journey through cities of increasing size and difficulty
- Strategic fort defense and interactive attacks
- Play in either real-time or turn-based mode
- 5 skills: defense, leadership, scavenging, building, engineering
- 10 resources and one-use items to find or craft
- 30 missions: scavenge for food, kill zombies, farm, fish, trade, bartend...
- 35 node research tree
- 50 building types with unique uses and/or scavengeable resources
- 70 types of equipment to find
- 100 survivor perks: Melee Training, Green Thumb, Light Sleeper...
- 200,000 words of event text - enough to fill two novels

Rarrobin,
Truly worth the money
I played rebuild and rebuild 2 online and loved them, for a free online game they were pretty good. I bought both the rebuild games on the App Store but I didn’t play this one for a while because of how different it was from the first two, it was a little tricky for me starting out but once I have it a chance I was hooked. For a mobile game and the little amount of money it cost, it is very very worth it. I played through the first time in about a week playing whenever I had the chance.
It’s worth the 5 stars but the different endings can be very difficult. I’ve looked for walkthroughs and only found one that seems legitimate, it would be nicer if the random events that ultimately effect the outcome of the game, would be more obvious. I’m not asking for easy peasy, just to be aware of the things I need to do so I can do them.

I’m really torn between 4 and 5 stars because it really is amazing, even with the difficulty in figuring out how to get the different endings. I haven’t been disappoint by any of the rebuild games and look forward to any future projects in this series.
It’s now on steam so I plan to buy that whenever I can :)
LoneWolf1776,
Nostalgia for the OGs
I’ve been playing since Rebuild 1 when it was on flash, and now, here I am playing it on mobile! Everything about this game is awesome from the character customization, the storyline, the events, character arcs, etc. My only complaint about this is *Spoiler alert, please look away now, or seal your fate*

There’s 4 different endings, and you don’t know this until it’s too late. I remember going into the last city, ready to get an amazing ending, thinking I found a cure and was ready to help everybody out, only to find out to get the good ending, you had to complete something in the first 3 maps to get it. Not cool. The fact the “cure,” was actually the omega virus in a “Trojan horse,” was downright not fair when I thought I did everything right to get it. The only way I found out how to get the good ending was by looking it up online and come to find out, I nearly accidentally stumbled upon the good ending but because I made one or two decisions without realizing how impactful they’d be, I lost it. All that work was for nothing, and what do I get? A jump scare which scared the living daylights out of me since I was playing close to midnight and didn’t see it coming at all given the way this series is.

But back to a positive note, this game really is that great, I just wish they made it more clear towards the beginning on how to get the good ending.
SMNQ5D,
My favorite mobile game
The amount of detail snuck into this game is astounding! I followed my Mayor’s journey not just across Canada, but through a long term romance and marriage with her faithful lieutenant, and their three pregnancies each resulting in very different stories. And then I followed her, still pregnant with her final child, on a quest for bloody vengeance when a rival faction murdered her husband, which wove perfectly and unexpectedly into the final narrative.

I played the game blind, one level at a time over the course of months. The controls were always quick to return to mind. And upon reaching the ending, a slew of previous choices came home to roost. I know some people are complaining that the choices weren’t obviously important at the time, but I love that they faded into the patchwork of other choices made over the course of the game. I will never have exactly this play through again and that is something I can rarely say about any game.

I will absolutely be playing this game again with a brand new hero and their brand new story as soon as possible. May they make new and unexpected mistakes.
glorydayy,
Review from OG rebuild player
Great game, better than rebuild 1 and 2. You do not have to end the days, it’s more based on time and you can low and speed it up and you can see the progression bars. Also you can see where survivors are and what they are doing. You can trade with factions like gustav and there are 11 other different factions you can destroy or ally with. You can see relationships between survivors, there are more research trees. You can see where zombie mobs are going to attack. Also it doesn’t need WiFi. It helped me get through my English class where I did not have cell service. Great game very worth the money.
Ghostfire6113,
Solid game
Great game, difficulty really ramps from easy to medium and so on.
I like that survivor happiness, friendships, and preferences are factored in, although sometimes the reasons for low happiness can be a bit annoying and impossible to really compensate for(fort was better when it was small, zed will always be out, there aren't enough places to get a stiff drink....yet you will have 9 or ten bars being tended).
Interacting with factions and dealing with waves of zombies can be frustrating st higher difficulties, but more than adds to the tension.
It took waaayyy longer than I expected, but unlocking all the endings is a real slog, bordering on tedious. I don't mind exploration and attention to detail, but having RNG controlled events with zero indicators that it may or may not be important, but ultimately will rule out a specific ending is fairly annoying. I grew up in the Nintendo/Atari era, I can appreciate difficulty, steep learning curves, focus on exploration, and not getting your hand held...just having a chain of random events with absurdly specific requirements that sound like all the made up stuff people post about bringing Aeris back to life in FF7 is disappointing.
All in all, it's a great game, absolutely worth checking out.
Obsessive Consultive,
A game for our times
Nothing like a pandemic to make this game even more ironic than it is. I like to build up a dream team of MacGuyver-Fighters armed with rocket launchers and Doctors Scalpals and play the next to final round over and over. Largest map and no inconvenient nuclear detonation or government plots ( wow you sure called that one!) to get in the way. It takes a while to build the right team and I have had some truly great ones but every now and then I delete the app because I waste tooooo much time on it. Free to play free to win is the only thing I will play nowadays and this is my fav.
Eddidy 44448,
Leaving town?
This game has great potential. I was so close to loving it until I made it so far into the game and I got a quest telling me to leave the town. Basically all the work you did was for nothing because in order to advance you have to take your leader and three other survivors to a new city and leave all your others behind. Worst idea ever. I thought okay I’ll do it at least I still have to old save. Oh but no I don’t it auto saved so I lost my main one. So there I was starting over practically with the survivors I chose to move on, when I came across a group I already had killed in the previous city, if it’s supposed to be the next stage, why the hell do I have to beat the group again? Honestly a terrible idea to have another city. I deleted the game because my time will not be wasted when you force me to leave the survivors I’ve trained and liked.
Kilian haines,
Good
People who say the zombie attacks are too abundant lack common sense. The first one that pops up will be the first to attack. Duh. It goes in order...if you don’t believe play it yourself. You only need to defend one at a time if you pay attention to when the hordes pop up.

TIP: On Impossible difficulty, kill all surrounding zombies and be careful. I recommend letting the hordes take the buildings, and then reclaiming them after. Defending against hordes causes lots of survivor deaths. It’s especially easy with Fearless Reclaim perk.
Spotts_420,
Love it
I’ve played the first two on the computer, and had to buy this one and I’m glad I did. I’m always worried I won’t play games I buy, but I keep coming back to this one.
I love the stories and how each character eventually becomes their own thing with buffs and skills. I like how there are moments where it is overwhelming and then calms to recover, being difficult but not too overwhelming. And it’s unique, which is so hard to do these days! Love it.
ThatFlyinHawaiian,
Loved this Series since 2009
If you like any of the previous Rebuild games, you’ll like this one.

What I like the most about this spot in the series is the varied factions and story building (in the story mode). Sure it isn’t cinematic, but it uses the format that started 13 years ago to make a really fun and challenging game. It surprised me in many ways, and is visibly the product of enduring love for the game and its community. Thank you Northway!
