I figured out how to move around, but it wasn’t obvious to me at first. I was thinking it was relative to the @ but it turns out to be more about specific spots on the screen: left, right, top, bottom, and then the corners (for diagonal moves). I guess I solved that puzzle!
It would be nice if moves could be more responsive and quicker.
On a side note, panning around is possible while pinch-zooming. (I’d prefer being able to do this by one-finger dragging.)
Again, it would be neat if the controls could look more retro/ascii in monochrome mode.

Original reaction:
This is like trying to get a cat to go where you want to go. 80% of the time, it just stubbornly stays put. Sometimes it does move, but not where you mean to go. Other times, it just goes all the way to the opposite wall when you just wanted to move a little bit.
If the movement itself is meant to be a puzzle in its own right, good job—it’s a challenging one.
I have no idea about the actual game itself because I’m too distracted trying to get something, anything, to happen on purpose.
And I actually paid for this...?!
On another note, it would be nice if the entire UI could be retro/ascii in monochrome mode.
