Bad update
After they did their last update to the video player 3 days ago the Quality is garbage not a clear picture like it used to be before the update, I use this app for the blazer games. But the picture Quality is not as good at all it’s blurry now. they need to go back to where the app was before the picture was great for the first preseason game for the Blazers it was perfect, and then after the update happened three days ago and I watched the blazer game last night it was crap & very blurry even when I’m in Wi-Fi it’s blurry I don’t know what they did with this last update to the video player but it’s not good at all it needs to be fixed ASAP I work 2nd shift so I use this app to watch the blazers when I’m @ wk. if the Picture quality video player was not blurry they would be getting five stars for me but until they get it fixed it’s a one star for right now

App deserves zero stars
Not surprised this app has a 1.5 star average! Comcast is a provider of Root Sports the TV Channel but Root and Comcast/Xfinity can’t come up with an agreement so we can stream this on our mobile devices and Tablets??? Root is in bed with DirectTV! All root tells customers is to contact their TV provider to ask them to allow live stream of root sports. It’s been years of this exact same crap. Root please stop telling us to contact our TV provider! Clearly this doesn’t work and it’s your job Root Sports to contact the TV providers and come up with the agreements that will be required for live stream. Your just wasting our time by asking us to contact our TV providers who obviously aren’t going to do anything about it!!! App installed for 30 seconds gets a 1 Star review which should be zero stars if possible and now it’s deleted as it’s completely useless for me!

I have xfinity and one of the only channels that I am restricted from streaming is roots sports. I thought that downloading the root sports app would solve this issue but they do not even provide this service on their app. It is a slap in the face that you cannot watch your local team even after paying for cable because root sports refuses to stream their services. I do note that several other reviews have been told to contact their service provider and honestly I think root sports is the issue as almost every other channel has made the transition to streaming. Developer Please do not respond and tell me to do that as you are just going to insult me further.

Root sports continue to show that it doesn’t care about its customers
Root sports has said for YEARS that it’s the providers problem that they aren’t being carried more. Bull. This is a Root sports issue. Hire better sales people if you’re having problems marketing yourself to providers. You obviously fail at life more than you’re crappy business policies. I honestly hope Washington State shuts down Root sports or the Mariners terminate the contract in favor of someone else. It’s crazy to think the Mariners wouldn’t make more money bringing their services and negotiations in house but obviously the management that has led the Ms to the most feckless 20 years of baseball in modern history is reflecting that same drive in its management of its television contracts...Losers.

Root Sports is a total bust including the App
The App doesn’t show many of the cable providers and the Search only looks at the same small list. So it’s useless! They don’t answer contact emails and their main phone only has a recording to read their useless FAQs! They brag about having the contracts and blocks ESPN from showing games but what their guide says is showing is never what is actually on! We were so excited about watching the Kraken play hockey here in Oregon but instead it’s fishing, boxing, or what ever else but not what they advertise!
Release the blackout contract if you can’t provide the service! Easily one on the worst sport channels out there!

Greetings Ooyala devs and community manager, it has been a while since we last spoke. I hope you have had time to update your copy and paste response.
The lack of cable provider support does not fall on the customer. Comcast, a carrier which you do not support, is a $182 billion company. Frontier Communications, another major carrier you don’t support, is a $200 million company. If you are going to suggest that a single customer is going to have one iota of influence over these companies, then you are clearly not acknowledging the real issue. I suggest you the developer and your parent company AT&T allow streaming for these competitors instead of trying to drive people to DirectTv.
If you don’t plan on doing any of these things, please just admit it in your response. Say, we don’t allow competitors to stream our content. Don’t pussyfoot around it for another season missleading customers that support will come if they just reach out to their cable company.

Please Support Comcast Customers
Thank you for the mobile app. Now please support Comcast users or let us pay to log in directly. Comcast is the only TV option where I live, and Root Sports is the only reason I haven't cut the cord. I'd contact Comcast to ask them to do a deal with you guys. But come on. I'm one person and since when does Comcast care about customers? I don't see why it's up to Comcast anyway. Root Sports has the broadcast rights, right? Why not stream directly to users, charge them directly, and keep more money for yourself. It's 2019, don't be bullied into a business model from the 1990s. At least find a way for the two to co-exist...

Great if you have access, don't blame the developer if you dont
With the current state of Root Sports streaming access, you must have a cable or satellite provider other than Comcast that carries Root Sports in order to stream when you're away from home. This app is pretty and seamless, remembering your credentials between sessions so you can launch it easily. The negative reviews are unfair and complain about Comcast's refusal to support streaming, which is not the developer's fault.

Root Sports access is horrible
I read a review that said Root Sports keeps saying to contact your provider for access. I agree with their statement in the review. Root sports service is horrible and it is on Root Sports to make their channel/streaming available to other providers. The PAC 12 Network and Root Sports must have the same executives. They are both 4th rate in making their channels available. Luckily the very few games that Root has that are worth watching can be streamed through VPN’s. And Root gets absolutely nothing for this. Maybe they should take what ever little the smart providers are offering and make it available.

Too Easy!
I was looking for a way to watch a Major League Rugby match on Root Sport that airs at the same time as the news programs my wife wants to watch. I saw a review that indicated DirecTV customers could access the broadcast so tried it. So easy! Perfect stream! And it performed better than the DirecTV app that was blocking the rugby even though I have rights to that channel. Too bad Comcast folks aren’t getting in, but that’s a Comcast issue.
