CherixBomb,
i’m in college w/ ADHD & take adhd meds
i won’t get too detailed (bc i’m supposed to be working on homework right now, of course...) but i will say that i like nice looking things. not necessarily like expensive things, just clean & put together surroundings, sort of OCD i guess. the other apps i tried to track medication were kinda clunky and looked like they were useful with the first 5 iphones. just my opinion, but the interface on this app is beautiful and it’s so satisfying to log my medication... and i use the apple watch app so i don’t have to get into my phone all the time. i really, really appreciate the makers of this app. i also log down my caffeine intake with coffee or an energy drink or caffeinated chocolate. i also log down my advil intake (college gives me a lot of headaches...)

if i could change anything, it would be to integrate this beautiful system into a larger system of intake for health, like it would be nice if apples health app had this medication interface in the app (or maybe they do and idk) but now that i add my caffeine intake (usually in the form of AWAKE caffeinated chocolates) i almost wanna track how much i eat, but i know i won’t track my food if it’s in a separate app than the one i track my meds in. can’t apple come up with something to track your meal intake too? (or maybe i’m just missing something...🤷🏼‍♀️oh 🐳)
slattle777,
Changed my life
Every single time I see the stupid notification "would you like to rate our app?" I immediately click no because if I really thought it was worth writing a review for, I wouldn't need to be asked. But it popped up today and I HAD to. I LOVE this app. I bought an Apple Watch not too long ago, not really knowing all of the benefits of it, while simultaneously trying to find things I could do with it.
I found this app in the watch App Store and after downloading it, I am not kidding - it changed my life. I am an INCREDIBLY forgetful person. And also not very good with routine. That being said, I have to take certain medications every SINGLE day around the same time to get the full effect of them - but like I said, I am all over the place and rarely have routine in my life.
This app changed that. Every morning I wake up and I am EXCITED to check off the medications I need to take, like I'm playing a game with myself: how many days can you go taking it at the right time? It's motivating in a way that I couldn't get motivated on my own to have a routine that benefits my life way more than just a simple click of a button.
Thank you so much to all of those who helped create this application - you have helped me in more ways than I can explain in this review.
furyise,
This app is a lifesaver!
I have always been absolutely terrible at taking pills. I never did it at consistent times, if I even remembered to take them at all, and sometimes I would have trouble remembering if I’d even taken them or not that day. Thank heaven I decided to search the app store for a pill reminder app and thank heaven I chose Round! Not only does it keep giving me notifications until I take my pill (which I really really need because I get distracted easily), it also allows me to put in what medicine and the dosage for each scheduled dose. I love love love that it gives me an interval of time to take my pill and will give me reminders in that time instead of just having a single notification! I also looove the look of this app! It’s pretty and user friendly and the little animations of check marks when you take your pill are so nice. I also like that the green and red of the reminders are more pastel because it’s less stressful!
My one issue with this app is that for some reason, sometimes when I try to open the app, it just automatically quits 5-8 times before I can get it to open, which can be frustrating when I’m in a hurry to record my doses. I gave four stars for this reason, but I’m hoping that with this feedback, the people at Round will be able to fix this issue and I’ll gladly then give this app an enthusiastic 5 stars!
townsbg,
App is crashing with no app support
I’ve been using this app for 2 years without any issues but it has started crashing. I think it was related to a previous use while in WiFi (which i never do l) and now it won’t load unless I’m in WiFi. Even that is iffy and seems to take a few reboots to work. There is no email or website and the internal feedback doesn’t work. They have both a Facebook page and a Twitter page but I don’t know if either is monitored. I messaged them and haven’t gotten a response yet. There is an export option but no import and the syncing service is dead so I really can’t start again with a new install with all my data intact. Essentially if the app starts crashing on you good luck getting support or the data back. I have been able to export so I have my data and I am switching apps. It’s too bad because I prefer this one. I strongly recommend frequent backups using the export function so at least if the same thing happens to you there is a backup. There haven’t been any updates for 3 years so I think it’s safe to say that the app has been abandoned. My suggestion is to find a newer app that is maintained and updated because who knows when an iOS update permanently kills this one. I’ll update if they respond to me by Facebook but I doubt they will. Minor gripe: if you don’t want notifications you have to click through 2 prompts when setting up a scheduled dose.
emsthename,
Functional...and beautiful!
I just started living a medicated life and was very worried that I would not be able to find an app or method of tracking that was both functional and beautiful (ux designer here). This app is wonderful! I love the interface and the aesthetic choices made. I also love the usability of the entire app. I like the fact that you can have a nickname for your meds so your notifications aren’t showcasing your medications. The calendar tracker and the ‘tap to take’ formats are amazing. The notifications are prompt and remind you again if you forget. All around a great app; I am happy to have found it!

Cons: so far I have not been able to actually sign in and register my account. It always says that’s unavailable and to try again later...but that’s it; everything else is amazing!

Requests: An “I’m starting this medication on a future day” feature. While I like the current reminder format and schedule, sometimes you have to start meds on a future day and pre-scheduling that out so it reminds you the day you start it or a reminder the day before that you’re beginning that regimen soon would be great. Also, some meds have an “ease in” method like ‘take one a day and then two a day’ adding that feature would awesome.
Memory Saver,
The only thing that has worked for me
For the past few years I’ve really struggled remembering to take my medications. I would forget for days or even weeks. Setting an alarm or reminder on my phone was never enough as I’d just swipe away the notification and say I’d take them later - eventually forgetting about them all together. This app is persistent with its notifications, it will ask 3 times if you’ve taken them if you haven’t already clicked that you took them. You also choose the timeframe you want the app to remind you and can customize the period of time (30 min, 1-2 hours) that you have to take it. It’s also very helpful with medications that you may take as needed such as Tylenol as it tracks when you last took it. The app looks very simple in a good way, and is pleasing to use. I don’t really have any complaints. The main suggestion I have that would be useful is the ability to see a single medications calendar so I could see what days I took just one rather than all of the medications. You could also add a customization feature to adjust how many times you’d want to be reminded within the time frame you choose to take your medication.
xxxNEKO,
Needs more editing functionality
A good app to keep reminding me to take my meds. It gives multiple warnings around the time you need to take your meds, which is important for me. In the past, I’ve had just 1 alert for my meds, and if I miss that alert I forget to take them completely.

My only gripe so far is that you can’t edit the dates when you need to take a medication that is not daily. For example I give myself an injection every 2 weeks. I can definitely set that I want a reminder for the shot every 2 weeks, but if I ever need to edit that reminder (like to change the dosage or the reminder window), it changes the day that I take that shot to be today. I don’t take this shot again until 8 days from now, but because I moved the window forward two hours this afternoon, Round is now prompting me to take my shot today. This means I won’t be reminded to take it in 8 days unless I change the reminder to be an “every 8 days” medication, and then change it back to an “every 14 days” medication next time I take it. At least when I had my shot reminders in my phone’s calendar app, they were on the right day.
anonymousinmn,
It’s okay but good luck getting support in app
I started a new med and found this app five days later. I like that you can see the days you took or missed taking your medicine on a calendar. I also like that you can set a reminder window to get a few reminders over two hours.

My first complaint is potentially trivial, I’ll admit. I’d like a way to move the start date back for this medicine to account for the five days I took it before starting the app. It would really help me to have an accurate count of how long I’ve been taking this med and how I’ve adjusted to it as time progresses. I can’t find a way to do so, which leads me to my second complaint which isn’t as trivial, in my opinion. I tried submitting this question/request about the start date in the in-app form for feedback and bug fixes….except I keep getting error messages that that function isn’t working. The “bug fix” has a bug and it’s been this way for weeks. I can’t get it to go through, despite several attempts, hence the review in case the developer reads it. The first problem may be something only I care about but the second affects any user who has any issue and seems like a basic function to keep working.
rebekah@,
A good start
I have a bunch of medication I take because of a chronic health condition. I forget sometimes and it can mess me up for days if I get off track so the reminder portion really helps a lot. Recently it hasn’t let me check off when I take a medication from my Apple Watch which it used to do but hopefully that’s fixed soon. The one thing I’d like to see (that I’d be willing to pay for even) is that I take medication on an as needed basis for pain that doesn’t really fit into a set schedule ‘take at 6:00 pm” but they do have a set interval like “take every six hours” or “every 8 hours “. I really need something that can track those times and reminders for those medications, or even for a set schedule it would be nice to be able to add in things like take before or after a meal etc. I know you can add them to the schedule but if you don’t need them it’s very fiddly to skip a medication and there’s no way to set a reminder “in 4 hours” rather than at a specific time. Having to remember the schedule for each of the pain management meds defeats the purpose of using an app.
viewmc,
Very glitchy and dangerous for your health!
I have been using Round found months now. I’m on several medications and some that can never be mixed together as it can very dangerous for me. I also been in a accident that has impacted my memory. So why I need help in remembering when to take my medication and help me record all the intake in my meds.

So that’s when the Round App comes in. I have tried countless of others and round does have a ease about it and I liked that. But long story short it was very glitchy! I would kick me out of app at least 4-6 times before I could actually use it. Others times I just had to do a hard reset on my iPhone to make the app open. Mind you all my others 40+ apps on my iPhone give me no problems opening up.

But the worse problem of all is that that app doesn’t record all the medication that I input as TAKEN! I would come back the next day and the previous day would be showing that I never took any of my medications! Even two days back would be empty! How many times have I doubled up on my medications because this app had a glitch and didn’t store my taken meds? Can’t tell you the times I told myself “I know I just took this medication a hour ago?” But ROUND says “Not taken” so I taken again! That my friends is dangerous!!! Stay away!!
