New iPad, no RTÉ Player
I bought a new iPad a couple of months ago because the old one couldn’t support all the upgrades. The new one started off ok but it’s not playing recent episodes of Fair City. It keeps replaying an episode from two weeks ago. No problem with the iPhone, though. I can watch everything from the RTÉ Player on it. Re the iPad, I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app numerous times with no change. It won’t let me even go to the home page. What suggestions do you have for me ?
Update 2021. Still having problem trying to watch numerous episodes of Fair City. Sometimes I can binge watch, other times the episode reply’s the first half of the program and reverts to the episode start instead of playing the second half. Hope you can fix this problem, thank you

ireland calling abroad,
Home TV channels
It’s nice to be able to see Irish TV when you’re living abroad. Some programs I can’t stream due to restrictions which is a bit unfair really, luckily enough I can watch the News and Fair City at least and the Late Late Show as well. But other than all this I am satisfied with the service.

Signal Always Dropping / Annoying Ads / Stupid Sound
The app is always dropping for some reason.
Secondly, I find having to watch two ads before it connects with the Programme your trying to watch is very annoying and as a result you might miss what you wanted to watch and you also have a negative approach to the ads, which I think your advertiser might want to know about.
Thirdly, the stupid sound which you have to listen to during the interval is extremely annoying.
In my opinion, the RTE App is not user friendly and could be much better.
I trust the above helps to improve the App.

Worst app for TV i have ever used
Features hardly ever work - you can always play the ads alright, sometimes over and over and over, while the programme itself never actually plays. Casting on AirPlay is awful - never seems to work with the ADS playing just fine but the programme just appearing as a black screen. TG4 app is so so much better, hard to believe RTE have literally never been able to get an app with decent functionality. Jesus wept.

Worst app ever
App will close without warning. Fails to resume after a pause in a program for commercials. The previous version was far superior to this one. It’s actually hard to believe that RTÉ saw fit to release this horrible update . I recently re-downloaded the app and it will not open. All I get is a blank white screen.

Not happy- lots we can’t see
Living in San Francisco so we pay for the player. Very disappointed that the player differs in its content than that of Ireland. Wondering why Operation transformation isn’t on it... it used to be? We were all set to sit down and look. Basically anything we’re interested in for eg a famine program a while back .. that wasn’t on it.. very disappointed that don’t have more content for all of us living abroad.

unable to access most news programs
Recently I cannot access Six One News from the Player. I have tried searching and using categories without success. During the last 18 months of pandemic I haven't visited and it's important to have daily contact through RTÉ.

This is a great app, but I’m not able to find and play all the shows I’m looking for. Really want to see The Dry. Also the search engine should also let you search by category/topics such as DIY, Food, History, Crafts…
