I love this game because it creates a need for people to walk and explore their neighborhood to expand their empire! Good job to the developers for making this game so interesting and fun! A thing I think they should add is kinda of like an online experience. Like add other empires in the area to the map like someone who also downloaded the game will show on the map and you can trade with them or you can go to war with them like if you are in their territory then you would conquer that territory. And you can make an alliance with that empire if you want and trade gold, meat etc. I also think they should add the reason to visit your empires hexes so the empire won’t get mad and revolt. If they do then everyday they will conquer one of your hexes and you have to fight back to by going into their hexes and if you capture the hex where they started then you would completely destroy that revolt.

Super fun! Hexes should be counted more than once though
I love this game, I first found it on Kickstarter years ago and I’ve been following it ever since. It definitely motivates me to go run! I would like it more if the way it tracked what hexes you go through was different, because often an out and back run feels sort of disappointing because it only counts the hexes you go through once and not on the way back, so it’s only half of the rewards for the distance of the run. Also it would be nice if you could add a title or a description or maybe just a marker for run or walk so that it’s easier to look through your run history. It’s a great game though, I’ve told all of my friends about it!
Update: I am in the Iron Age and have been for probably a month and a half or so, but there has been no progress. When I go out on a run I can currently get maybe 3 billion coins, but to progress to the next era I need one quadrillion, which isn’t really attainable. It’s probably because of an update and science balancing and all that, but it would be nice if people that downloaded the app earlier could also get these benefits so we could continue to work through the eras, because I’m pretty stuck right now

Solid game good potential
This game is really cool because it inspires me to walk and bike like I’m in the Tour de France in my town. But I need more info on the pro because it shows in the video that the graphics are pretty cool but my account the graphics are stale, so please fix this graphics crisis.

Good game, but about that progress glitch...
I was at about 95% to the medieval era until last night when I downloaded an update. Now it’s back to 0% and the progress bar won’t move, even though I’m generating tons of coins.
UPDATE: I have 9 castles and almost every building from my era and still can’t progress past 0%. Pretty frustrating that the developers won’t chime in on this bug.
UPDATE 2: OK. So with the latest patch it finally shows progress in coins instead of percent. And I can tell I’m progressing, just veeeerrryyy slowly. Makes me wonder if the devs boosted the science rewards for getting through the early eras and also made it take more coins to advance? People like me who downloaded day 1 would’ve missed out on the bigger science rewards, then got hit all at once with the harder level caps. Still wouldn’t explain why the 95% progress I’d initially made toward the era disappeared, but... it’s a theory. Sigh. Guess I’ll just have to gut it out until I’m generating enough coins to make up for the science I missed.
Other than the glitch I’m enjoying this game a ton. Motivates me to run further than normal and explore new routes. And castle battles are a welcome addition.
UPDATE: I have 9 castles and almost every building from my era and still can’t progress past 0%. Pretty frustrating that the developers won’t chime in on this bug.
UPDATE 2: OK. So with the latest patch it finally shows progress in coins instead of percent. And I can tell I’m progressing, just veeeerrryyy slowly. Makes me wonder if the devs boosted the science rewards for getting through the early eras and also made it take more coins to advance? People like me who downloaded day 1 would’ve missed out on the bigger science rewards, then got hit all at once with the harder level caps. Still wouldn’t explain why the 95% progress I’d initially made toward the era disappeared, but... it’s a theory. Sigh. Guess I’ll just have to gut it out until I’m generating enough coins to make up for the science I missed.

This is the worst, shadiest game.
I was a dedicated runner. I had empires in cities across the country, for years. All of a sudden they erased EVERYONE’S accounts. The new update not only makes the game ten times worse, but now it’s not free despite advertising it is. This is NOT free anymore. They had in game subscriptions before, so they did not need to make this update. They did it because they’re a greedy money hogging company. They’re acting like they HAD to do it. They had a dedicated fan base and they just decided to throw it all out the window. I recommended this to my boyfriend but now I have to tell him not to touch this app with a ten foot pole. You can’t just ERASE everyone’s data and expect people not to be mad. They erased it so we would all have to pay for this shady app. God, I can’t even tell you how upset I am. Only giving this one star because I couldn’t give zero. Play something better like zombies run or something :((((

Great Game! However….
This game is absolutely amazing, from the live tracking to the mini wars that go on in your neighborhood/cities this game will satisfy a strategist and keep you on your feet. Literally and figuratively! However, there are some things that I would like to see added. For instance, the ability to do a bike ride. This is unavailable and you are limited to walking, running, or “wheel chair riding!?”. Also another cool thing to add would be the ability to talk to your opponents without them being in your contacts. For instance, maybe you are tired of fighting a month long war that is back and forth(it’s tough), and maybe you wanted to join forces and fight together. THAT would be awesome!!!! Please consider!👍

Love this app
I love this app, I will continue to play it and build my territory. I wish the developers were still updating and improving. I think it could continue to build a following. This app reminds me of Habitica, a gamified productivity app that also started as a start up. Habitica has changed so much over the years and it continues to go strong. Anyways, I’ll continue in Run an Empire as I love the RPG side of it and flags and things. I also have stride. I wish we could merge features of both of these apps. In a perfect world. But, I think Run an Empire is still a really fun app and worth spending some time on to gamification your running and add some imaginative playfulness to it. Very cool.

Was Great. Now Terrible
When I first download The app a few weeks ago I really like the concept. It helped motivate me to go biking or running and the idea is creative and fun.
I had gone on multiple rides or runs with no issues and it was fun learning the app. Then I went on a long bike ride and shortly after there was an update and now everything is terrible.
First after my 45 mile bike ride the app started to stall for very long periods of time and wouldn’t load the map. Or it would but it would literally take 5 to 10 minutes to do so. Also before on start up it would take 2 to 10 seconds to load the app. Now it takes 2 to 10 minutes! Plus it still won’t load the map.
To top it off today I went on a bike ride and it didn’t register it the ride at all. I went about 15 miles and it said I went 0.0 miles. So now I’m done with the app unfortunately.
Also once I went on a drive and somehow I turned the app on. Obviously I didn’t want to use the drive but there was no way to input that it wasn’t a ride. After the newest update there’s all these issues with the game now. Like certain resources don’t work right and there’s glitches. Now it’s not usable.
I want to like it so bad but Just too many issues.

Unfortunately Underwhelming
I was so excited for this game to come out. I watched it closely, paid into the Kickstarter, hyped up all my friends. Then when it finally came out, it was just too much work to do anything. I moved onto other apps. Then Strava got supported. I could never get it to sync. Now that the update has come out, and cycling is supported, I was really excited. Strava support still isn’t working. I have synced, resynced, uninstalled, reinstalled, attempted password changes. Nothing logs my runs or cycles... I’ve really wanted to like this app, but it has continually failed to meet my needs and expectations. At this point I’m much more invested in Strava challenges so beyond running both apps at once, I don’t really know how to fix my problem. I’d love to play the game but I’ve pretty much given up trying to force it to work for me.

I would like to say that I couldn’t even play the game because I refuse to share my location with the game. I know most of you are wondering why I am even rating a game that I haven’t played, but the reason I’m rating this game(a 1 star aka the lowest score possible) is COMPLETELY because that I COULDN’T play the game AT ALL! I have my settings set to NOT ALLOW 90%+ of the apps I have on my phone to know my location and collect my data and whatnot. But you HAVE TO ALLOW this game to know your location and data and whatnot, JUST TO EVEN PLAY IT for a few seconds to decide if you like it or not. I have NEVER been hardlocked by ANY game before because I refused to share my location and data and whatnot. So therefore this game gets a 1 star for now, hopefully one day the devs change this, but if they don’t, then my review will MORE THAN LIKELY BE DELETED by them.
