Greypatchesoreo,
Yayyyyyyy!!!! But,
I preordered, n got my notifications that game was available. The iPhone I was on at time even gave me alert, tho I purchased the preorder from another iPhone. When I checked, my other iPhone as well as my tablet had the cloud icon, showing it had been already paid. But the phone I was using when alert came said $2.99 still.

I wanted it on that device, but was afraid I'd be charged n at moment, I honestly can't even afford another measly $3 bucks to deal w/even if refunded eventually. Can you help me out? The fact I had clouds on my other 2 devices (all my same acct), I didn't want to chance the whole not knowing if it will say 'you already purchased, so u won't be charged again' bit, or just ding and say !done' with a checkmark, only to find out later that I was charged another $3.

My phones are both iPhone 7+'s. Any other time it always reflects on all 3 devices no matter which one I actually purchase app? My settings are just set to NOT auto download on all devices, since my storage varies on all 3 n just the one is main iPhone, but it still always reflects I've purchased it by showing the cloud icon on all my devices, but just isn't on that particular device. I know it's brand new app, n patience for some bugs n kinks, but I just wanna know if since I happened to preorder on the phone NOT my main device, if now I cannot own it on that one, unless I buy it again. Thx
Lou in Louisville,
Enjoyed thoroughly, BUT...
First, I want to say thank you to the hardworking developers that have allowed me to enjoy countless hours of fun, creative thinking, a little frustration at times, but overall a truly enjoyable gaming experience. I first completed all of the FREE cube escape games and loved every single one. I don’t usually spend money on games but I had to for Rusty Lake because I knew the type of game it was going to be and it didn’t disappoint. Definitely worth the money. But - in my opinion, and I see others have felt the same, some of the mini games and puzzles were either too easy or just plain hard and I had to consult the walkthrough. My favorite part of the game are the mini games and I kept waiting for that really fun one like all the cube escape ones had. But anyway, I love the game, love the whole Rusty Lake story, and look forward to buying the next one (which I’m gonna do right now). Again, if you are looking for a fun and exciting game that will keep you engrossed for hours - this is it. I suggest trying some or ALL of the FREE Rusty Lake cube escape games first so you can get the feel for what kind of game it is and how to play it because it’s unlike any game out there. Thanks for reading!!
Suzsho,
Another great game from Rusty Lake
I normally don't like things that are creepy and bizarre but Rusty Lake has such a wonderful and unique way of presenting things... with their terrific graphics and deadpan humor... it all becomes delightful. I actually had moments of gasping and laughing out loud... no small feat for a computer game. Like many others, I started with the Cube Escape series, an incredibly generous free offering (thank you RL!), and have been a fan ever since. This game is another great one! I also wish it were longer because it's so good. The playing level is not too hard overall for experienced gamers but I did need help at a couple of places.... mostly with a couple of the mini games (like the vegetable patch) because I just couldn't grasp the logic and got frustrated with so much trial and error. (There's a handy in-game walkthrough for each level.) Aside from that, I had a ball living in this moody world for a while, and solving all the different puzzles. Really fun! Thanks, Rusty Lake!
half-halt,
Oops...fixed!
Great game series...only for this version, Paradise, I am almost to the end...grandma calling with the mist horn...and the game is crashing by the end of the first tap. So I cannot make it to the end...up until this point, the game has been terrific! New and tricky puzzles, but I was able to solve every chapter without hints and by working w bit with trial and error. Clever moments...fireflies took some good observations, as did some of the other clues and tasks. Helps that I expected the bizarre. Fix the crash, and the game is worth every little penny! And then 5 stars!
Update: latest update fixed the crash at the locusts. Now I am happy;-) btw...if you are expecting a linear storyline, or a pretty and quaint game, or even realistically violent, (although it is not a game for the squeamish) this is NOT a game for you. It is bizarre, gothic, quirky, and unique.
anastasiakowa,
Trust the negative reviews, this is disappointing
I loved the Cube Escape series but was reluctant to purchase the Paradise based on some of the reviews. I decided to try it because I thought “how different could it be when I really liked all other games by them?” Well this one is truly the least favorite of mine. Like others said, there is a lot of going back and forth and again and again on the map. The puzzles look like they were developed without much thought. I just kept randomly clicking on some of the puzzles because they were underwhelming and I still was able to solve some of them that way. Some same graphics were used from their other games... all the voice overs even for the female characters were recorded by males for some reason....storyline was not captivating to say the least. I LOVED their games such as Roots and Paradox and I’m not sure what happened here... like all the captivating storyline and thoughtful puzzles they used to have were not present, and this game really focused on stabbing and killing different animals and bugs crawling out of peoples noses.... and that’s basically it. I’m hoping the developers take this into consideration for the next games.
JonnyMFBravo,
Three hours, three dollars lost
I just got done playing this game, and said “I can’t believe I just spent that much time on that nonsense.” Granted— the imagery is really cool, and the story is creepy and fun. I experienced zero glitches or bugs, and some of the puzzles were fun. I love a good mental challenge. BUT, many of the puzzles just sucked. Without giving too much away, there are puzzles that are easy to solve but require you to walk back and forth across the entire map. There are puzzles that require you to just click around the entire screen (and move items to VERY SPECIFIC places) just to see what happens. And there are more than a few puzzles that will require you to look them up online, or else spend countless hours just trying to figure out what the eff these people are trying to get you to do. Save your money and time.

It’s a shame, because this game was fun and well-made while it was progressing, but obnoxious at a lot of sticking points. I shouldn’t have to look up walkthroughs to figure out what a game is even trying to get me to do.
RoninOtter,
Grotesque and Macabre puzzles
Imagine if Myst was designed by the creator of Salad Fingers. You would have this game. Dark, twisted and sometimes nauseating, the game is definitely on the fringes of what might be considered “fun,” but somehow manages to hold onto a measure of charm throughout.

The game’s brain teasers tend to be pretty easy for the most part, as the majority of them have fairly simple logic that’s easy to work out with persistence. A few are genuinely tough, and others are far enough out of left field that they will take a little while to figure out just on their oddness alone. Still, it kept me busy for a couple hours which is easily worth the reasonable pricetag.

NOTE: Don’t buy it if you don’t like leeches, bodily fluids, cartoon vivisection, or being responsible for the deaths of cute little animals. This game is pretty gross at times, and that was a bit off-putting to me, but your mileage may vary.

However that hasn’t stopped me from wanting to buy another one. I liked the storytelling, despite how oppressively dark it is, so I’m encouraged to check out more from the title.

My only objective complaints:
-the navigation through the woods is cumbersome and can be a factor that slows down progress unneccessarily
-the voice acting leaves *much* to be desired (however, Grandma showing up in random places and sounding like a man legitimately made me laugh aloud.)
schchgfth,
Only play if you’re ready to get totally hooked
I have never written a review for ANY app or game, but I have to make an exception. Rusty Lake is one of the coolest and most immersive worlds I’ve entered in video games. A true return to the early 2000’s style of point and click(my favorite games as a kid) mixed with original animation and modern storytelling. Not only that- the game is truly difficult, but in a way that makes sense all the way through.

Once I finished this game, I was so hooked I immediately downloaded another. I lost a few days playing all of the games in an attempt to piece together the whole story. Every one, even the beginner ones when the production value isn’t quite as polished, are crazy addicting and so fun to play. I had a great time and don’t regret one moment spent playing them. They are, in a word, amazing.
Dubs1,
Another masterpiece
I can’t get enough of these!

Edit: this is NOT a fake review...this is to that rude reviewer who clearly just doesn’t have a taste for what rusty lake is all about....so let’s set the record straight that these devs know how create a one of a kind experience...and it’s not ‘ripping off twin peaks’- it’s called an ‘homage’, and you would know that if ever played any of their other games (which you clearly haven’t)...it’s your own fault for not doing the research on the rusty lake lore and also the obvious free to play cube games that show you the art style and gameplay the devs use in their games...and in regards to your opinion, mine is that I am absolutely in love with this series and always look forward to a new game from them.

I’ll be fair, the game was a tad short for my taste, but it definitely makes up in terms of story and atmosphere; and for the price, it’s still a bargain to me as I fully enjoyed playing. And I thought all the plagues were very well done with the ending being a real treat for rusty lake fans.

So to anyone who doesn’t like the game, good for you; you paid and are entitled to your review. But there’s no fake positive reviews here, bud. Just because you didn’t ‘get’ it - doesn’t mean you speak for every gamer out there.
Paisleybug,
Endless joy. Easily the best app series ever!
I can’t even begin to describe the mind blowing wonderful joy of these games. I’ve played all of them, gifted them to friends and family, and they’ve seriously blown every single other game/app out of the water. The creativity of these designers is insane. Snails coming out of grandma’s nose? Yes please. My only complaint: there aren’t enough stories! My life feels incomplete now that I’ve done them all. Please please please keep making more of them!! I could rave for days, but this should get my point across. You will not regret purchasing these. Start with this one before moving on to the others. My only caveat: the story is a little chilling and there’s a little bit of gore so if you are sensitive to that, beware.
