WHY TO TEACH SIGHTWORDS?

Sight words are words in English language that do not have a simple one-to-one correspondence between sounds and letters -- in other words, they have to be memorized and instantly recognized -- recognized “on sight,” so to speak. In an average, non-technical text, they comprise over 50-70% of total words.
Therefore, children who can quickly recognize sight words can read better because while they read, they can focus on inferring the words they do not know while still understanding most of the grammatical structure of the text. Learning sight words is thus a crucial step towards an enormous reading improvement.
Action Sight Words Games application offers children an easy-to-use interface and a grand choice of six fun educational games through which children can acquire mastery over this subject matter.

Control the Word Machine. Supply all the words that need to be produced by tapping on the words called.
2) SPELLING
Your dog is hungry! Make cans to feed him! To make a can, drag the letter cards to their correct place and make a word you have just heard pronounced.
3) BINGO
Make a Bingo to get a ticket for Aliens back home! Tap on the word corresponding to the one that you heard pronounced. Once you have matched cards from one side of the board to the next... Bingo! All Starfall Word Aliens are back home!
4) MEMORY GAME
Match the sounds to correct word forms! To do so, tap on one of the speakers, hear the word, and then select one of the cards below with a correct word. Do it for all words!
5) GEARS
Tap on one of the speakers on the screen, hear the word pronounced, and place the word across the speaker. Repeat for all words to see wonderful gears animation.
6) FLASH CARDS
Practice in the Flash Card mode. List through the words and top on the cards to hear the words pronounced again and again!

My children love this app!
Sight words have offered my kid’s hours of fun and interactive gameplay while learning all at the same time! Not only have they learned quickly but there reading has improved a good bit with the help from this amazing app. Once my kids created their own avatars, we were taken to a screen where there are 6 games provided from spelling, to bingo, flash cards, memory games and more! All these great games keep my children’s minds busy and always thinking which I believe is a crucial step in their early mind development and helps with their reading capabilities. I highly recommend this app to anyone that may have children or teaches!

Not working
Just downloaded this app, it does not work and I paid for it. Says loading for about a second, then the screen goes black. I also erased and redownloaded did not work.

Mispronounces
The letter "a" is not pronounced /ah/. It's pronounced /ay/. I hate to think I bought something that is going to teach my kid how to mispronounce common sight words.

An amazing app for kids who are learning to read
With its easy-to-use interface, this app is really useful for helping kids master sight words. My nephew really enjoys playing the six educational games found in this app When he first started using this app, he really liked playing “Bingo” but now “Memory Game” seems to be his favorite.
What I like most about the app is that ever since my nephew began using this app on a regular basis, his ability to read has been improving by leaps and bounds.
As his proud uncle, I wholeheartedly recommend this app to anyone who has kids who are learning to read.

Great educational tool for sight words
My 5 yr daughter like this nice educational tool for sight words. There are many fun games with which to practice. My daughter is learning primarily through phonics method but since these are words that cannot usually be pronounced due to their irregular pronunciation patterns (yet they are very frequent), it is wonderful that she can learn them through sight words method. Now, she can actually read from simplified texts because she can quickly identify these words!

Your kids are going to love it
This is a really well done apps for the kids. It starts by letting your children customize their own character to like the boy or girl character of their choice. They can also choose to look like a monster. The app has 6 different games all of which that keeps kids busy while giving them some educational value. The sound effects and graphics are really vibrant. Very fun app!

Great learning app!
This app is really cool. It keeps my children occupied and has a strong learning benefit as well. This app is filled with games to help children with reading and learning skills. I really like the word machine, memory games, and bingo parts of the app. It is fun for adults too if you have time to play when your kids are sleeping. If you want an interactive game for your child that is educational in nature, this app is perfect for you.

Great learning tool
My son is in the first grade and he loves this! He has fun playing the games while he is also learning. He has always had a little trouble reading, but this has been a big help for him. It's awesome that there are six games in one. I'm glad to have purchased this on my phone because now my son can play educational games rather than games that are strictly for fun! Highly recommend.
