Best Health Journal
Foodility is simple, intuitive, and elegant- exactly what I had been looking for in a health journal. I have used Foodility since 2019 and have still not found a better health tracking app. I love that I can track everything in one place, that it is perfectly organized, and that there aren’t cumbersome bells and whistles. Thank you to the app designers!

I do have one suggestion. For those of us who eat the same meals often, it would be very helpful to be able to log an entry for multiple days at once. For example, I would like to be able to click to log breakfast and choose multiple dates and times, rather than a single day. Then, when I press “log”, the entry would show up on all the dates. If thats possible to develop, it would make the app experience even better. Thanks for considering!
Zoe56892,
Let’s see!
So, I downloaded this app because I am dairy intolerant (I CAN eat dairy but it SOMETIMES gives me cramps, stomach aches and such) and I want to track what dairy I eat to see how much I can eat and stuff. I don’t want to count calories or diet. Just want to track of what I eat. I read through the description and I think that this app will do what I ask. I can add what I ate and when and all those things. I can add photos, too. I think this app will do good.

I will add edits and suggestions but for first impressions it’s great. Simplistic and calm, easy to navigate. This app can basically do whatever you want to it to do. It’s very flexible from what I can see.

As afore mentioned I will add edits and suggestions as I actually use the app, but I wanted to show what I expect and see how it turns out. I haven’t really tried tracking my food before, but I think it’s a good habit to get into for any reason. I will give it 4 stars for now because for first impressions it is fantastic and I think it will work great. Let’s see what i think about the app after I use it!

Simple & Easy, Can use some improvements
I like the simplicity of this app. I use this app for a food journal for a health log purpose and also just keeping memories of what I are where, etc. I have been using this app for 7 days straight since I started a new diet and so far I am enjoying using it. I was looking for something just to log what I ate without dealing with calorie counting, and this works for the purpose.

I have some requests for improvements for the future versions if possible.

Place - Restaurants, Home & Work should already be listed. I have to type “Home” every time I eat at home and it’s been annoying since I eat at home a lot. During the work week, many people may eat lunch at work, so “Work” should be one of the given choices as well for a convenient quick choice.

Photos - Right now, I cannot add photos of food after I post a meal. I can go back and edit the text but cannot add a photo. I have to delete the entire post and re-do the post with the photo. This can be improved because we sometimes forget to add the photo or take the photo after posting. Also, I want to see the photos underneath the text, not next slide. At least it can show the first photo under the text, and hide more photos on the next page if there are multiple photos. Most of the time, i just post one quick photo and I want to see it at the same place without flipping the page.
klzzlk,
great app, but a few feature suggestions
I love using this app to keep track of what I eat because I think it’s such a healthier way to be healthy without counting calories or obsessing over macros. Some features I’d like to see:

- be able to export pdf with all data on one pdf (e.g. weight and food and notes are compiled together for each day)
- dark mode
- instead of being under different tabs, i think it would be much more streamlined to have different categories of notes just be different colors on one screen for each day. this way you could see your entire day (food, exercise, water, everything) without having to switch back and forth. this would also allow left swiping/right swiping to be used for switching between days instead of switching between tabs. for example, if you were looking at entries for January 20 and you swiped left, it would be nice to be able to see all entries for January 21 so you could see consecutive days without switching back to the calendar.

all in all, love the app. please don’t switch back to ads. i love the clean interface. would be willing to pay for app (but i don’t think subscription would be worth it)
freakingtakemyreview,
It is what it is. No bells or whistles
This is a very basic app for tracking your food. Which is great because that’s what I wanted! I didn’t want to know the calories or anything like that I just simply wanted a food journal. I do wish there were some extra features. Like being able to copy and paste one meal to multiple days. I also do like that when you select a day on the calendar to add to your journal (sometimes I back log in days that I didn’t fill) you select the day on the calendar but then you have to select the day again (because it brings you to today) to add the time you ate. So I wish that was more cohesive. I also wish you could select the days you want to export. I share my journal with my personal trainer and when I export my food journal it shares everything from the beginning. Overall it does what I want but I do think there are some areas to improve.
cazilo,
Super simple, non-triggering journal app
I was looking for something that would support my goal of developing a healthier relationship to food and exercise. I wanted to be able to see what I was consuming each day, so I could be sure I was honestly looking at how much or how little I was eating, whether I was getting a good balance of nutrition, and to note how what exercise I did and how my choices each day were making me feel. This app is perfect for that. No goals or calories or suggested meal plans or anything that is triggering for anyone who has struggled with diet culture or a unhealthy relationship to food or exercise. This app just allows you to track what you need to in a non-judgemental way. I am glad to have found it!
erik101,
Version 1.3 fixes previous issues
Wow! I’m impressed with how quickly the developer fixed the issues with the previous version. Updating the settings allowed me to save my measurement type, and the 16oz preset is back. Also, I think this was fixed a while back, but it’s worth pointing out that meal entries can now be entirely updated, including time and type.

I am glad the ads are gone for now. I am willing to pay for an ad-free version. I use the app daily, and support the developer needing to monetize the work.

Original review below:

I have been using this app daily for most of this year, and I have loved it, until the latest version.
• Tracking for water intake now defaults to ml, and to use oz, have to switch every single time, and have to convert the total. Should remember last used measurement type, or allow me to set a preference. Tracking water is the most common entry I make, so this change is particularly annoying.
• Removed 16oz preset, which is what I used most often.
• The new ads are very annoying, particulate because they slow down performance. If forcing ads, should allow users to pay for an ad-free version.
Please fix!!
Songbear20147,
Finally, something easy and not too complicated
Sure. It’s great when you can make the time to identify each food that you eat, each brand of food you eat calculate the calories that you eat, and have a Fan-dangled water counter to boot. Most people don’t have time for this. This is more straightforward, you can even take pictures of the food you’re eating and very easily log your meals. A food diary for the rest of us. And I think this is really going to help me keep track of what I’m eating. I’m diabetic, have high blood pressure, and severe arthritis.
Keeping track of things is really important this app is going to help me do that. Highly recommend.
Hillcat Holly,
Great app! Just a few updates would make it 5 star worthy!
I love how basic this app is! It’s simple and easy to use, which is what I wanted. The export feature is awesome to be able to print out what you’ve logged. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is how long it takes to enter everything (#firstworldproblems). I wish it would be a little more intuitive, like guess the meal is dinner if I put the time as 6:30 p.m., or better yet, not even require a time of day or the type of meal. Also, clicking on a calendar date to add an entry doesn’t automatically prepare you to enter for the date you selected, but still defaults to “today.” These are just a couple of the little things I hope get updated in order to make entering meals faster, but it’s overall a great app!
AnniRad,
My best food tracker!
I like to think of this platform as training wheels for good lifestyle habits. I use a food diary one month per season versus indefinitely. It’s such a good self-check and eye opener. In the past I’ve used pen and paper but after having a baby it became almost impossible to get around to a physical copy consistently. This app version is minimal and straightforward.

I don’t want to be calorie/ macronutrient/ “whatever’s new” obsessed but I do want to look and feel my best. Simply logging what I ate and drank and sharing it with an accountability partner is enough to me to create self-awareness. This app helps me make better choices when I know I’ll have to write them down. Highly recommend! Huge kudos to the creators!
