MyHyperbole,
Terrible App
This is one of the worst apps I have ever encountered, so much that I feel compelled to write this review.

While I’ve had some fairly large problems with the treadmill (squeaking, rattling, random slowdown), it has been stable but the app just makes the experience even worse. I was hoping for a good integration to share health data with some of my other apps but that doesn’t work. The app itself doesn’t seamlessly sync with the treadmill. Additionally, when it would connect, you get limited views and workouts similar to the display panel on the treadmill itself. This offers no insights, only letting you control very minimal aspects of the workout. I see no point in even using the app.

The connection, once made via Bluetooth would allow you to play music through the pathetic speakers provided by the Sole treadmill (F85). Unfortunately you can’t hear anything against the noise of the treadmill.

Perhaps the mode aberrant issue is when connecting the app, the treadmill seems to work at half speed. So says your running at 7.5mph but in actuality it slows to a fast walk -4mph.

Finally, the treadmill doesn’t share data with any other app, only this one which locks you into using approximations.

Very-very disappointing. Since clearly the company doesn’t show any care for its customers through proper investment, i would not recommend this app nor the equipment that pairs with it.
Devistator,
Review of reviews:
To address all the complaints, realize most are old reviews. Also, be able to tell the unrealistic rating system to a functional app that works very well with my sole E25.
1. The app connects easily to the elliptical every time.
2. The app tracks more info than the panel shows including rpm and graphs.
3. The app is simple to use with a lot of areas to cover to track your progress.
- I get no errors, no disconnects, no loss of exercise data, no issues after near ten uses. I use the heart rate monitor along with the app and play Bluetooth music all seemly through the device and even FaceTimed my gf while riding. So as far as I am concerned that if there are legitimate complaints I’d like to see their constructive criticism vs angry at the world review. App works as described.
(((Request))) I would love if they fleshed out the graphs to track independent data and entire data especially heart rate based on time and dates with ability to see more specific progress. Reason for it is my average heart rate is not my min and max nor my target heart rate data. As a therapist there is a tremendous amount of unused potential in the graphs. Hope you continue to grow this app as I am an everyday user.
EmorieRoonie,
Worst app on the planet
It does not save workouts in the calendar as stated, does not sync with Apple Watch/iPhone, or the Health app. And it does not sync with the apps it claims to sync with. When you click on the app to share (Facebook, Safari, Mail) it just opens the app with zero data transferred. I bought a Polar HRM to see if that could sync and bridge the gap to my Health app, and it will sync to the app but not with the correct data, like mileage. The Polar HRM says zero miles ran, even though the Sole treadmill read my heart rate from Polar, the information did not go back to Polar. I want to track ACCURATE health data in one place and this Sole app makes that impossible. You can turn on the treadmill with the app, but pushing the big green button on the machine in front of you is easier. I love the treadmill but this app is a joke. And after all of these terrible reviews, they still haven’t fixed it.
Fwong,
New sole f80 user. It worked for me with iOS 14.4
I’m a new Sole F80 owner and was a little worried at the reviews. But so far the app has worked for me on my iPhone running iOS 14.4.

(1) make sure workouts are set to transfer. Go go settings / privacy. / Sole - check allow Sole to write workout data

(2) after doing a sole fitness workout. Click calendar in the sole app, then List, and then view one of your workouts. In the upper right there is a send button next to the “En” (English). Click that and you’ll get the option to transfer to Apple health and other apps.

The Sole app correctly transferred the workout as “other” with time, distance, and heart rate (I have a Apple Watch which is where it may have gotten the heart rate ). Calories are shown as 0 though.

I also recorded the workout using Apple Fitness on my Watch. This captured time, distance, heart rate, cadence, average pace and calories. The watch is estimating my distance and is off by 11%. So I need to calibrate that (it’s on the Apple website).

I’ll continue to use both and eventually settle on one or the other so I don’t double-count the workout.

An enhancement would be to classify it as an “indoor run”.
pjeski,
Does exactly what it’s supposed to, and no more.
For me, the app connects first time, every time. Storing the data to MapMyFitness was a little confusing at first. Tech support got me the answer. You have to select the workout from the list, not from the calendar Even if you drill down to the individual workout on the calendar, it won’t work. It has to be from the list.

I run the app on my iPad, so landscape only is no issue, though I would agree it’s a bad (lack of) feature. The display shows slightly different info than the display on my elliptical, and you have a few screens to select from. Plus it adds touch.

The app does what it’s supposed to do. It doesn’t have a lot of features, but it’s not meant to.
Lil Pistol Starta,
Futile and worthless
The sole reason (see what I did there?) this App should exist is to move workout data to commonly used tracking apps. This app makes moving the data exceedingly difficult with a single obscure “happy path” to make it work (Caledar>list view>share button>pick your app). When you FINALLY figure out how to move the data all that happens is it tells the app of your choice that a workout occurred and for how long. No steps, no calories, no distance, no heart monitor data. As someone who makes a living in tech, this App is offensive to both users and developers. Everyone involved with this should feel shame. Sole’s app developer failed to recognize the issue they needed to solve and accordingly Sole has failed at respecting their users. It stinks, it’s putrid, and it fails miserably at the one thing it should do.
Xorolc,
I like that it logs, but has issues
The good... The logging works great, and I like the dashboard.

The bad.... substantial issues:

The App only works in landscape mode.

On iPhone 11 the edit profile page has no descriptions of the items and reconverts imperial to metric on save (only showing metric)

At last usage the calorie counts were WAY off in manual mode, it looked like it was recording double the calories burned. I suspect someone goofed metric and imperial and is recording my weight in pounds as the same number in kilograms.

Selecting levels in the custom workout mode is just confusing as there is no indication of speed. Worse, it locks the treadmill to a minimum and a maximum, so if you get it wrong, you have to trial and error to get it right.

App doesn’t seem to export / share any data with Garmin Connect. No error, just nothing happens.

The way it syncs to a live workout is just a bit odd, guessing it’s a safety feature, but it’s a back and forth of press start, press press confirm and repeat. I went to fast on pressing start/confirm once and I think it screwed up the workout. Might have been unrelated.

I am giving it 2 stars as I do use it, but this really fees incomplete / unfinished.
SCDanl,
Ugh! What a waste!
Spent $1600 on the Sole F80 with the key reasoning it had Bluetooth integration and and app for tracking our progress. Yes, the app works with iPhone, but it doesn’t integrate to Health or work with the Apple Watch. The 1980’s style LCD display is so rudimentary they should be embarrassed and as others have commented, the speakers belong on a child’s $20 play toy, not an expensive piece of exercise equipment.

Top that off with HORRIFIC customer service. The treadmill is almost silent when running, until you step in the deck where the noise is ridiculous. The unit was supposed to be lubricated from the factory, clearly not. After applying a coat of silicone it’s quieter, but still louder than others I’ve used in hotel gyms. I recommend neither the app or the treadmill. This one may be going back.
Lindsay Tam,
Decent but needs work
The app is nice but lacks crucial features.

1) no where on the treadmill or the app can we see the 3rd digit when running. Any avid runner needs to see the second decimal place (hundredth of a mile). For example, 5.45 miles.... yours will only show 5.4 and 5.5 and 5.6 etc. I called customer support and they said they are tired of asking without success. Just add the third digit and your customers would be so happy.

2) It would be nice to see the display replicated on the treadmill screen. I have a beautiful screen on my treadmill and this teeny app with more data on my phone seems backwards.
aliensteve,
Works for me
So far, the app has been working just fine. No problem connecting to the machine (E25). Big bright display that gives me three viewing options. I really like it! The one thing I can’t figure out is how to modify a user profile after it’s been created. I made my first profile when I received the machine. Incline 1 and resistance 1. I’m wanting to modify those setting now but can’t seem to find a way. I know I could create a new user but am afraid I will loose all previous data (workouts)!
