Description

Near the town of Dead Hawg, past the Grimwood, at the very PEAK of Mount Awful, there stands a crumbling tower of mortar and stone.

Deep within this foul edifice, the blackest necromancer of modern times, Solomon Dark, sits on his horrible throne.

As a near graduate of the Wizarding College, your final exam is to storm Solomon's Keep. Dispatch the dark wizard, loot his evil possessions, unbind his horrific minions, and prove to your teachers once and for all that you're not as stupid as you look.

In Solomon's Keep, you move your wizard with one thumb, and fire magic spells with the other. As you destroy enemies, you earn experience points. Gain enough experience, and you'll gain a level, and can select new skills to help you ascend the tower.

Along the way you'll find gold and magic items. Your helpful teachers are there to explain the ins and outs of wizarding, sell you a few useful items, and even give you a few tips to improve your skills.

Along the way you'll encounter Solomon's skeletons, zombies, imps, and more. You might even encounter an undead king, and Solomon's meticulously reconstructed maggot vomiting skeletal dragon.

You'll have a chance to master 21 skills and wield over 50 magic, rare, and epic weapons.

With random dungeons and monsters, Solomon's Keep offers infinite replayability. It's never the same game twice!

CHANGES:

o Cold Magic is now considered a core part of Solomon's Keep. A poster on the Raptisoft Forums commented to me that he played Boneyard first, and charging for Cold Magic in Keep looked like money grubbing (Cold Magic was actually added to Keep much later). After considering, I decided he was right, so Cold Magic is no longer a buy upgrade.
o The Amazing Cabinet is now enabled by default and doesn't need to be turned on in addons.
o Inventory scrolling speed has been sped up a little bit
o The Annalist and the Amazing Cabinet will no longer require you to defeat Solomon before they appear (they will, however, not appear in the very first "normal" game you play after your first install).

FIXES:

o A glitch with recording game deaths has been fixed
o Several savegame glitches have been fixed, such as invisible walls, or the player returning to the dungeon outside of a room. If you get a bugged game, simply exit and re-load, and it should be fixed for you.
o Teleport will now correctly move you to the exit room on Rampart levels

o Meditating now also speeds the recovery of secondary skills
o Demigod difficulty has been added after Archmage, with appropriate feats. Demigod Difficulty is very, very difficult!
o Max player level has been raised from 57 to 75
o Having the creativity skill reduces all skill level requirements by 7 (i.e. if a skill is only available above level 25, creativity makes it available at level 18)
o The spell caps on all four offensive spells have been raised to 20 (with a maximum of 25 with items) to assist in the greater difficulty offered by Demigod.
o Boss Monsters now scale up their attack tactics on higher difficulties (increased speed and frequency). You will earn your awesomeness.
o The display of skills in the character sheet has been cleaned up to group related skills together.
o Ring of Fire and Acid Rain can be upgraded five levels further after you pass level 20.
o Magic Shield can be upgraded two levels further after you pass level 25
o Siege Mage's skill cap has been increased two levels
o A mana-less fireball now looks different than a full-strength fireball
o Elemental Enhancement Spells: You say there's no good reason not to weld your magic? Well now there is. All four primary attacks have their own "elemental focus" spell which don't get welded in, and which are available after player level 30: Elemental Maximum spells require that you have a skill point in all the sub-skills of the elemental spell.
o An addon has been added that lets you select a different look for your wizard, and female wizards! (Sorry, all wizards are blue... it's the traditional color that the Wizard College drapes a surely doomed wizard in when he/she goes off on a deadly quest).

Thanks again for buying Solomon's Keep. This was supposed to simply be a bug-fix update, but we ended up throwing in some features that were going to go into 3.0, just to get them to you quicker.

Here's what you're getting:

o Due to user confusion, the Annalist will not appear in-game until you've defeated Solomon at least one time.
o Fixed a bug that could cause hit points to fall to minimum level if you equipped a "bonus to all skills" item.
o Fixed a few graphical glitches
o Fixed a glitch that caused framerate to drop when fighting demons and zombies on Wizard difficulty
o Hit Area of in-game buttons has been increased, and hit area of the thumbsticks has been decreased.
o A glitch with the experience bar and trading gold for experience has been fixed.
o An exploit that allowed players to get infinite level ups has been removed
o To improve game balance, buying knowledge is now more expensive at higher difficulties.
o Due to some apparent glitches in the Facebook library code, Facebook will no longer automatically resume your last session when you start the program. You will now have to touch the facebook icon, and select "resume."
o Fixed a problem where the magic door caused players to become embedded in walls or blank areas of the dungeon
o Meditation skill has been adjusted to invoke faster after player goes idle.
o Three save slots are now available
o Players can now play in Hardcore mode for added challenge.
o By popular demand, going back to town will no longer heal you completely. But you will recover life and mana MUCH faster while in town.
o Solomon has a new minion: Shadow Demons!
o Improved the look of Flame Lash because of the guy on Toucharcade forums who complained about it. Thanks for adding to my workload, buddy! Now the effect properly conveys the atomic bomb ridin' tyrannosaurus-killin' great white shark wrestlin' awesomeness of flame lash.

Thank you all for your support! We will continue working to make Solomon's Keep the best arcade/RPG experience you will have on the iPhone!

We've got a lot of new stuff for you in this update... lots of fixes, lots of tweaks, and lots of new content! A lot of people complained that SK was too short, so we've added more floors to the keep, and a new boss monster! Plus, after winning the game, you can now play through on harder difficulty.

Also, be sure to talk to the annalist for new ways to play the game, and talk to Morius for information on how to weld your skills together!

Here's what you'll find in SK 2.0:

o Improved stat page

Good game.
I've had this game since before it was free, and I'm a big fan. However, I would like to point out a major flaw/ something in need of improvement. The only thing that happens to enemies as you go up in difficulty is the enemies get more HP. They essentially become walls of meat at one point where you have to run around them in circles for five minutes (literally) in a constantly repeating pattern (Use magic, bring up Mana, repeat). Most of the time, the high-HP enemies (Typically large fire demons for me) don't pose a challenge because I memorize the attack patterns, so it's more of a bother than a challenge to defeat them. I would rather you make the AI tougher than pile on more and more HP. I would rather feel bested by a cleverly designed AI than aggravated because I can't deal enough damage. Overall, I enjoy this game, but I would like you to think about my suggestion. I have both Solomon's Keep and Boneyard and love them both, and have even donated.

First review that I've WANTED to write and this is my first review... I believe this game is amazing, I also LOVE Solomon's bone yard, the graphics are good. But not good enough to waste battery life which is perfect, this game is a dungeon crawler game.... It will have you addicted for days, you get bored of it after playing with every magic you can, don't act like you've only tried one magic cause you haven't, this game leads you begging for more hoping for more updates if you came out with a game similar to this called Solomon's quest or something that costed 10$ id pay for it legibly, a game that's more like a rpg than a dungeon crawler, Solomon s boneyard is like the nerd version of nazi zombies with a twist all you fps fans don't hate lol I love NZ too. Boneyard is VERY addictive PLEASE CONE OUT WITH UPDATES OR NEW GAMES SIMILAR TO IT!!!!!!! And I think I speak for a lot of the fans out there when I say this.

Hardcore Mode
It was very disappointing that if you die once in hardcore mode, you lose everything. I understand if you can only have 1 life to challenge, but you don’t have to lock the entire save file. I thought if you die once, you still have a chance to save your items. Then you can try again another time. This is a force hard reset. I think it’s very unfair that upon selecting hardcore, it doesn’t mention you losing everything. All it mentions is you can only die once. I spent hours grinding for epic staffs and rings, now it’s all for naught. I don’t suggest trying hardcore mode at all. I hope the developer change this. I would even pay to get those precious items back. They took so long to get, now I have lost complete interest in playing the game. I can’t stress enough how unhappy I felt when my save file has been locked without warnings. Imagine all your hard work just down the drain, over something you can’t control. If I knew hardcore mode lock your save files, I would have never ever came close to it. Locking someone’s save file without warnings is cruel, unfair, and unlawful. How can you do that to your players?

Unbalanced and slow at high level, but fun character building
The main method of increasing the difficulty in this game is just increasing the amount of health and damage of enemies. The final boss on higher difficulty levels one-hit kills with any ability that isn’t summoning monsters and uses an invincibility shield to avoid taking damage for more than a second the entire fight. It’s balanced for people trying to cheese the game, not for people playing the game for fun.

That said, the character building options are very fun. Melding spells feels awesome because you can only know one melded spell, so you can’t swap them out quickly; and you can only make a melded spell every five levels. It doesn’t get any more powerful until you meld it again, making it an interesting decision whether to meld now or later. The secondary abilities are also very fun to use, but I wish I didn’t have to keep magic shield as one of my secondary skills. If you don’t have magic shield up at all times, you’ll get killed extremely quickly, even with boosted max HP and damage resistance.

Noobs guide to the game.
To be able to survive later in the game you need the magic circle (slows enemies and boosts mana), the magic shield (saves your life) and teleport (for the traps). Use the purple magic missile and only upgrade potent missiles 1x to retarget. The rest just drains mana and reduces their effectiveness. Battle mage a siege mage are vital and but more missles and increases damages is equally important. It is best to restart the game a few times till the shop has good items and good skill upgrades (rush, battle mage, channel mana, magic circle, magic missile, and more missiles are all good choices) then use the three accounts to save items in the magic cabinet. Get 500x - 1000x gold find and you should be set. Those monsters become impossible and you need every bit of survivability and damage possible.

Great game honestly, but you know what would be the best? GameCenter online maybe so you can play with friends? Another thing that would be cool if the character has different Skill points you get to level up (Strength for stronger attacks, defense to take more hits, charisma for selling items for more and buying for less, raid that you get more loot from chests and bosses, luck that you get a higher chance of getting staff or ring from chests/bosses. Another thing maybe add a archer and melee fighter, also floors could maybe be a little more exciting? Great game all though :) Also, customizable weapons with gems would be cool, for instance. Some gems you find/buy could increase certain powers on your weapon or rings

Waste of time
Let me start off by saying I'm a huge fan of dungeon looters. I wanted to like this game I really did, but the longer I played it the more it let me down. It seems as tho it was a rushed through game, the enemies are either ridiculously easy or stupidly resistant to damage. My second time through I spent 45 minutes nonstop blasting Solomon just to die in 2 hits when he hit me then summoned guys all around me. His infinite magic shield is ridiculous as well. I love how some regular enemies I can stand in one spot and blast for 3 minutes straight, allegedly doing 18 damage per second. Whereas other enemies in the same level die without me even realizing I hit them. I wish this game was given some more time so these gaps in skill could be fixed, and btw half the skills you can learn are completely useless, for example I maxed out magic circle and it does NOTHING for me. Fantastic waste of time. Unrolling toilet paper is more fruitful and exciting.

Dont know if this is a bug
I have been playing keep for years and up until recently i havent had any issues however lately when i start a wizard its like he is dumped directly in to hard mode, giant floors and enemies that become overwhelming by floor 2. The Channel Mana and Battle Mage skills nearly never drop at level up and the skills that do deop have no positive impact on progression, so i ended up in upper floors with high potent missles and rush and thats bout it. I grinded clear to the skull dragon with no mana and it took an hour to beat him with out of mana sounding every second. Ive never had to back out of a room before the later floors but now at 2 it regularly happens.

Great update but...
What is the deal with all the ads? I had been playing this game almost endlessly for a long time, and was really pumped up when my wife told me that there was an update out for it, but now I can see myself really losing love for this game. An ad pops up every time you go through a door to another floor. Every. Single. Time. I am horribly prone to going backing through doors on accident and now I’m bogged down with ad after ad. I don’t see any option anywhere to remove ads which is sad, because this is definitely a game that I would pay to keep playing. Unfortunately the relentless ads ruins that for me.

Awesome!
This game is great and I love upgrading all the skills. I found one minor-ish bug while playing though. I was on floor 6 and I got to one of the parts where you have to go around the outside of the castle to get to the rest of the floor. When I went out the door though it took me to the outside of the castle that you get to when you first reach the castle. I tried to climb back up but when I got to another one of those outside portions it took me back to the beginning again. I reset the game after that and it worked just fine. Aside from that great game. It truly deserves 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
