spark.leigh,
All mamas need this!
I am NOT a fan of working out and very easily get discouraged when I finally give it a try. That being said, I knew how important training for my birth was and I turned to the Bloom Method to help me learn about my changing body. I admit I didn't do many of the actual cardio-type workouts, but the foundational principles of how to functionally move and support my body were so so so helpful. Belly-pumping throughout the day was a simple way for me to keep checking in on my core and I could really feel the difference. The concepts taught not only helped me go about my daily activities safely while pregnant, but they absolutely prepared me for my daughter's unmedicated birth. I better knew how to breathe (diaphragmatically) and was in touch with the muscles needed in my core to deliver my baby. I also enjoyed the stretching videos on days I didn't feel like working out, yet needed some movement to relax my body. Their coaches' approach with gentle guidance and encouragement to listen to your own body and what it needs at that time is SO refreshing, and it really does allow me to stick with exercises I would otherwise give up on in other programs. I do have a goal to get back into exercising regularly and utilize the growing library of workouts they have available through their app/website. I really do recommend the Bloom Method and Studio Bloom to all my pregnant and mom friends. Thanks for being a wonderful resource!

Prenatal 1st time momma
I started studio bloom around 20weeks pregnant feeling a desire to learn more about my inner core. I have been extremely active my entire life playing sports into the college level. During all of those years training, I was never once taught how to engage your core during exercise. I knew pregnancy was a different ball game and I needed to change my mindset on how I trained to be safe during pregnancy and make the 4th trimester a smoother ride. I had to change my mindset. It’s not a “work as hard as you can or lift as much as you can or push your body as much as it can go” mindset but rather a listen to your body, push yourself when things are challenging, but give yourself time and grace to learn how to do things properly. I love the prenatal calendars, the introduction to core, and the wide variety the Bloom Method provides you during your entire journey. I plan to continue to use the Bloom Method during my pregnancy and during the 4th trimester to help me get back to my former exercise routine safely. The workouts are challenging in physical and mental ways and have made me rethink the way I exercise and move daily. I’m more conscious of my breathing and connection during daily activities. Would definitely recommend this app to anyone who is wanting to learn how to connect to their core ( bc I DIDNT).

Wonderful birth prep tool
I looked at a few pregnancy safe workout apps before choosing this one. The free trial definitely sold me. I love that the focus of each video is on your breath and pelvic floor, no matter if the class is stretching or HIIT. The birth prep classes are by far my favorite. They focus on the same muscle group and burn out that muscle so that you mentally reach your edge, simulating what you’ll feel in labor. You then get to practice how you mentally and physically respond to this so you can go into labor knowing what works for you and what doesn’t. This has made me feel more confident about my birth. With COVID19 and not being allowed more than your partner in the room, I’m focusing on being more self-reliant and this is a huge part of that. Im a very active person - I run, hike, and do workout videos multiple times a week - and these classes always feel like a good workout. I also like that the strength and express classes are shorter so I usually do a few videos in a row but it’s also very convenient for those days you only have a few minutes. I’m also looking forward to using this same app pp. Highly recommend for any mama!

The only downside I’ve found is that if I try to use the app on Roku the sound and video don’t match up but I’ve had no problems on my phone.

So beyond Worth it
As a first time mom, there was a lot to learn during pregnancy and postpartum. I always loved at-home fitness programs but being pregnant during Covid and losing my gym membership, I needed something even more to stay active. Also I wanted to make sure every workout I did was safe for pregnancy, enter the Bloom Method. Finding the Bloom Method was a game changer in my pregnancy. It taught me how to breath, it taught me soooo much about my connection with my pelvic floor & core and my mama intuition. It helped my mindset when I went into labor that this would be a marathon that I had been training for since my second trimester. Because of that, I felt super empowered in my birth and had a very successful delivery. The app offers such a variety of workouts that were manageable throughout my entire pregnancy. They offer modifications and up levels on days I had energy. Brooke Cates is a super star and the type of professional coach we need more of in the pregnancy and postpartum space. Along with her expertise and fellow bloom coaches,I believe any woman at any fitness level can find benefits to using Bloom. Now I am postpartum and still using Bloom to rehab my core and feel strong again in tandem with other workouts. I love this program and would recommend it to anyone that could benefit from it.
NJ EMC,
Great for mamas!
Love Bloom. I have always been very active but had fears about continuing with my regular workout programs during pregnancy - I was super scared or worsening potential pelvic floor issues and causing diastasis recti! While I continued my same routine early on, I tried a few different apps during my first trimester. This was the one I consistently came back to later on and the only one I’m still using as I enter my last trimester! Many other options were just pregnant women doing the same exercises that I would find in the non-prenatal classes. Bloom does a lot of teaching, modification options and has women in different stages of their pregnancy shown in each class. Love the videos and so easy to find what your looking for with a good mix of content! My only semi-negative comment is that while there is a great variety of content that you can use over and over there is not an overwhelming amount of content and it is a bit pricey without the discount. I bought it for a year during their Mother’s day sale for a great price. ’m not sure I would have bought for a whole year if it hadn’t been during the sale! Overall, it’s a great app I have been loving as I enter my third trimester!
cmmendez08,
Highly recommend!
I am 26 weeks pregnant with my first baby and have been doing The Bloom Method for the past 8 weeks. I LOVE the program and recommend it to all pregnant mama’s! I was not very active during my 1st trimester as I felt lethargic; however, in my second trimester, I had a boost of energy and wanted to get back to my fitness routine. Rather than continuing with my barre classes and cardio classes (spinning and running), I wanted to follow a program that focused on prenatal fitness. That’s when I stumbled across The Bloom Method vía Instagram. I truly believe my core is stronger than ever and have also gained a great deal of stamina and endurance. The program is also helping me focus on pelvic floor strengthening and lengthening. I know many programs will promise to help you during labor, but in comparison to those other programs (which I have done on rare occasion), The Bloom Method will guide you through breathing techniques and core and pelvic floor activation. The other programs just count you through the exercise.

I cannot give my post natal testimonial since this is my first baby; however, rest assured that I plan to follow The Bloom Method after my baby has arrived. In doing so, I strongly believe that I can become mamaSTRONG!
Belcanto28,
Preconception Plan!
I have been on quite a long journey with my fertility and want to do everything I can to prepare myself for pregnancy. I saw a midwife for my annual this year to establish myself as a client. When I told her I could not find anything that really addressed preconception body preparation through pregnancy, she told me about Studio Bloom and I was thrilled once I checked it out. Many exercise classes or plans are targeting prenatal, so it is nice to see preconception being appreciated as this is when you set up your body and can enhance egg quality.

I appreciate there there are videos about pelvic health and education. I also like that there are consultations if you run into questions or problems as well as an online community to ask questions as well. Right now during Covid I prefer to have something like this offered online as well. I like how I can use the app or use my computer to access the classes. Since signing up I have been notified of new classes being released. I have been doing MAF training and appreciate that I can keep my HR low during many of the exercises.

Favorite Training Method for Preconception, Pregnancy, and Beyond
I started with Bloom to get connected to my core pre-pregnancy and have used it all the way through birth and postpartum (currently have a 3 month old sleeping in my arms as I type 😍). I love that Bloom fundamentals can be applied to all workouts - the diverse options in the app as well as other ways I move my body. I love that there are so many workouts to choose from so that I can work HARD the days I have energy and then choose less sweaty, but somehow still super effective, sessions for days when I feel like I’m just not in the “mood” to workout. I love that the workouts are 100% shame free so I never have that “can’t keep up/not good enough” feeling. I’m certain Bloom helped me to stay active and feeling great all the way through my third trimester (and try to get all my friends to do it for their pregnancies!). Also, I was pregnant through summer and it was so helpful to have a way to move indoors for those days when it was too hot, there was poor air quality, or it was just too humid to be able to get outside.
Christine Aull,
So much more than a pregnancy workout!
I really don’t have words for how much I love Studio Bloom! I’m five weeks postpartum with my second and am three weeks into the rehab program. Founder Brooke spoke to my soul when she said that just day to day life with a newborn is a workout that requires a new kind of strength. Studio Bloom workouts have given me just that! I’m a mama of two under two, and six weeks of bed rest wasn’t an option. I’m thrilled to say that after an ab separation with my first, a challenging pregnancy with my second, and minimal downtime post-birth, my daily date with Studio Bloom has left me stronger in my core than even before baby #1 (and I’m only three weeks in!). I’ve been a yoga teacher for years and have spent countless hours in PT trying to heal my core, yet no one has made my abs make sense like Studio Bloom has. More than a workout though, Studio Bloom is a lifestyle and one I’m so thankful I said “yes” to this time around. I feel stronger than ever before and am excited each day to see what my beautiful mommy body is capable of next!
R&RPT,
Fine for newbies
I’m a bit disappointed in this app. While there are quite a few educational videos, workouts, resources, etc, I’ve spent too much time trying to figure out how to use it effectively. I’ve been so frustrated listening to so many simple videos that are pretty much a joke when it comes to actually getting a workout in. As for content, I have 2 main gripes: Brook never stops freaking talking. It’s so annoying. After you watch about 5 min of any instructional video on the various core stability methods they use, you want to rip your hair out bc she just painfully draws out her explanations. And this continues into some of the other videos. Second: if you’re an athlete, the workouts may be disappointing. Many are very easy and feel like a waste of time. While there are some that you’ll feel the burn in muscles, it’s a poor way to actually build strength. High rep, low load builds endurance, not strength if you have a foundation! For those of use well versed in proper strength training, this just feels like another fluffy prenatal workout that isn’t going to help much when it comes to athletic goals. Great for people who don’t normally strength train or are not educated on proper core/pelvic floor activation, but disappointing to me.
