Description

▻Sudoku is Sudoku with Point System, Runs, and Online Leaderboards. Discover the next evolution of Sudoku with amazing graphics, animations, and ease of use. This is a Sudoku like one you have never experienced before ;)

...Thousands of puzzles, all free. Top class puzzles with selectable level of difficulty :)
________________________________
To the classic Sudoku, we added:

=> A smart point system, wherein your score is based on 1) the value of each number multiplied (at the time of its match) by a multiplier that decreases in time and 2) the value of each block, row, column multiplied (at the time of its completion) by the decreasing multiplier

=> Thanks to Game Center, you can now rank and compare Sudoku scores and achievements against friends and strangers

=> ▻Sudoku also counts the runs, that is, each uninterrupted sequence of games won, and adds them to the online leaderboards
________________________________
In ▻Sudoku, you win a game when you solve a puzzle with 3 errors or less (we used this threshold to give a bit of slack for mis-tapping :) Also, you have a number of hints to help you play (more at the easy, less at the hard level). To fit any taste, you can choose between a lush tile look or a more classic board look :)

Wolfemangarcia,
One of the Best
This is the version of Sudoku I play the most. There is another Sudoku game that is better in that it has many more features and a superb teaching feature, however, I still find, out of the dozen or so Sudoku games I've got, that this s the one I pull up first. The only irritant is the lack of a choice to pull up an auto fill of candidates. Instead you have to put them all in by hand which is just tedious. I'm not asking for any hints, just reduce the tedium of filling them in by hand. But despite that this is still the one!

Nice App
I’ve used this for some years now and it’s a solid Sudoku app. I would like to see a few changes. For one, the scoring system is set to give the highest points to the 9’s, then the 8’s, etc. That makes no sense to me, but I don’t really care so much about the score, so not a deal breaker. Also, it would be nice to have the options to have all the cells filled in with pencil marks, for those times when I would prefer not to spend the first 6 to 8 minutes doing it manually. I also own a more full-featured (paid) Sudoku app, but many of its features are only available on the pc, so this is the one I default to, since it is always close at hand on my iPad.
Mac131392,
The app I use the most!
I’ve been playing Finger Arts’ free-version of Sudoku for well over a year now. I love it. I play it multiple times each and every day. The interface is clean. The app offers seven different skins, all nice.

When I started playing Finger Arts’ Sudoku 2, they did not offer an ad-free version. It was only because I was showing the app to a friend, that I went to the About screen and saw the Ad-free link for the first time.

Finger Arts does a fairly good job of keeping the ads from being too distracting, but I’m glad to have paid for an ad-free version. Only complaint, my stats from the free version did not carry over to the paid version. I had an 843 game streak at the Expert level.
texasbubb,
Still buggy.
Rotation lock clears every time the phone is unlocked or the app is background(it seems) because I never clear it and it is clear a lot. It should be persistent. Games will just end in the middle occasionally just locking and unlocking the phone. Not as buggy as the latest version of the free version though. That one just crashes randomly now. Probably when pulling new add content.
All that said, still one of the cleanest Sudoku designs out there. I have played quite a few. Still this one is my favorite. Simple, concise, no frills or nonsense. Good layout and user interaction. I just wish it wasn’t so buggy.
Pharoah808,
I don't understand all the 5 star reviews!!
Don't get me wrong, this is a well written Sudoku app. But there are better ones in the App Store.

Faults:
Entering pencil marks (almost required at the "hard" and "expert" levels) is slow & tedious!

HUGE gap in difficulty between hard and expert levels. Once pencil marks are completely entered in, the hard level "solves itself" rarely requiring "advanced" techniques. Jump to the Expert level, and advanced techniques are required, but difficult when only 6 pencil marks are shown at a time.

"Perfect" scores mean nothing!
Allowing mistakes encourages a kind of cheating... I have over 50 expert wins, but when I've been in a hurry, I just guess on a number where I've narrowed the possibilities down to 2 numbers... If I'm wrong, I get a mistake, but I now know the correct number, and it's usually enough to finish the puzzle with a "perfect" score...

I keep this on my iPad because it's a great Sudoku for beginners, and my kids like the interface. But I will move on to other better apps.
Kuroraiko,
Great Version, with One Minor Feature Recommendation
I love this app, my only addition would be an option for a second color of pencil that is stored separately, where you can toggle between the two. Alternatively, it could be a mode where you stop tracking mistakes but set a ‘restore point’ when you start. Both options would allow a little more freedom to experiment with possible solutions in expert puzzles where the solution can be unclear until you go a bit into a possible path.
mtneerg,
The pleasurable intensity of this game makes for the perfect break!
I play games to take my mind off of irritating thought-trains and to de-stress. This is my favorite, because I can do my brain a favor while giving it a time-out from aggravating situations. I recommend Sudoku to anyone who wishes to enhance their pattern recognition skills, their concentration, and their decision-making speed. The levels ensure that anyone can feel the satisfaction of success. If I had to choose just one game app for my phone, this would be it, no question.
Gregstet,
Best of the breed
I’ve tried all the Sadako programs and I feel this one is the absolute best. In addition, while tons of games on my iPhone have come and gone this game has stood the test of time and has remained a favorite for years and years. If you like so Duco I would pay the one time fee to get rid of the ads and enjoy this app forever like I have. I don’t write a lot of reviews but I’m writing this one because I hope it helps somebody discover this great application.
hardtosend bad reviews,
Poorly thought out
It was only $3 for the game, so no big deal, but the game is poorly thought out.

If a number isn’t used on the opening screen, it is impossible to highlight those numbers that you entered as pencil marks.

You should be able to highlight a pencil mark number and then place it on the screen in multiple places just by touching squares. Instead you need to highlight a square first and then touch a pencil mark number. You have to repeat this over and over.
Opinion02122,
Like it
I learned to play this game while using my iPad. I tried several versions before I settled on this one. I used the free version for several years before buying the paid version. I kept accidentally hitting the ad banner at the bottom and it annoyed me. I had to go to the App Store to buy it since there is no "in app" purchase within the free version. It’s now very many years of using this game, and I still love it. It can be very challenging.
