Tinetti,
Best Sudoku training game ever
I rarely write reviews but this game deserves one. I've tried lots of others in the app store just to get some variety but this is the best one, hands down. The range of difficulty is amazing, I can dial in exactly how hard I want it to be - some patterns are too hard or time consuming for my preference so I can dial it down but still keep it challenging. The tutorials are excellent, the way it compares your time against other players is great, and the puzzles themselves are top-notch. Can't say enough good things about this game. If I had to find an area of improvement it would be the graphics - they're functional but not as nice as some other games out there. But they're not too bad and there are some customization options which are nice. Great game and kudos to the developers!
BDB-1958,
Best iOS Sudoku - only one missing feature
Probably the best & most complete Sudoku app on iOS. I love the many difficulty levels and the built-in training & hint system as well as the ability to create puzzles from the camera and photo library. The only missing feature is having “central” pencil marks in addition to the standard corner marks. I like using the Snyder (corner) notation to keep track of when there are exactly two possible positions for a number in a square, but I would also like to note where an individual cell has restricted possible solutions. The only app I am aware of that does this is “Classic Sudoku” by Cracking the Cryptic. I wish :)Sudoku+ had this feature - then it would be the only Sudoku app I need!
The Scott,
Good but some flaws
This is a really fantastic sudoku app, and I use it pretty much daily. However, the developer no longer supports it.

One major issue that has cropped up is that it frequently serves puzzles that are one or two grades above what you choose. So choose “mild”, and you’re dealing with an “intricate” puzzle. It’s not consistent, though. And what’s worse is that there’s no indication this has happened until you find yourself stumped on what should be a puzzle that requires no advanced moves.

Beyond that, the “best” time displayed will change pretty constantly while you’re playing a puzzle, so you won’t know what your actual record is until you beat it. And just a complaint, the “lessons” for advanced moves, etc., are incomprehensible. You could have just sat on a keyboard and created clearer instructions than what’s there.
Tbone80503,
Best Sudoku game!
I have downloaded and played with most Sudoku games out there. This is by far the best one. It's great for every level of Suduko player and has as many helpful tools as you want, or don't want to use.

Features that stand out for me....

Very easy to concentrate on one number and fill in many boxes with a single tap on each box.

Easy to switch from a pencil mark to a solid number because it has 2 number pads.

Many different Levels of play. At first I didn't understand why the developer put so many different levels in. I now really appreciate the different levels and can pick one depending on how relaxing, or taxing I want the game to be.

Great import features. I enjoy importing the Sudoku puzzle from our daily paper and the one in USA Today for a different variety.

The undo until solvable tools is great if you mess up and want to go back to where you made the mistake without redoing the whole puzzle.

The hints are very good at explaining the logic behind how a pencil mark can be removed or why a number can be placed. This game has explained and solved puzzles that others said were unsolvable.
Grama Sloth,
Super game!
This game is not only fun. It is a way to keep track of my mental state. With all the degrees of complexity, timing, and percentages, I know right away how I am functioning mentally!! By setting it at a low level that I can always solve in a few minutes, I know right away, when the time goes up and percentages drop. If I have plenty of time I can up the complexity. And there is help available to learn the twists and turns.
And I can set it very low for my grandchildren to play!
And it isn’t math!! It’s logic! The numbers are used as markers because they are perhaps the easiest to remember. Letters, colors, flowers, you name it, could be used instead!
Thanks for a wonderful game! I love it!
MyGirlz#1Mom,
Best Sudoku Ever!!
Update again: Still the best Sudoku app.

Update: still using this game after several years, I have never found another I like better. I like the daily games, though there never seems to be a shortage of new game to play. It definitely keeps my brain challenged. I am slowly moving up the difficulty chain. If I can exceed 50% most of the time, I'm ready to move on. Oh, and please don't add sounds that can't be turned off. I play in bed sometimes, chimes or other sounds would wake my partner.

Features I haven't found in other games, like highlighting all the places I've used a digit; letting me know when I've completed a row or column; highlighting a completed digit. It is my favorite.
TheCrut,
Hands down the best Sudoku game on the App Store
I’ve been playing this game for years. The tutorials show exactly how some of the more advanced patterns work so you can learn them, or not.

The controls are another defining point of this version. You can tap a number at the bottom of the screen, then quickly fill that number on the board. This is especially useful for penciling so you don’t have to keep clicking a number then the board, then a number then the board.

Very well done. All of the things that make it a great game and none of the frills. Don’t be put off by the older looking graphics.

Best Sudoku Out There
I have played the Sudoku + for years. I have tried other Sudoku apps, but this one is the most intuitive and user friendly. The one thing I do not like is the 5:00 penalty for accidentally entering each incorrect number. I have a disability which sometimes causes me to be “ham-handed”, so incorrect entries happen even when I am trying my best to enter the correct number. Therefore, even though I cannot make the correction as quickly as I would like, it by no means causes me to add 5 minutes (or even 20 seconds) of time to the game! Turning the time off detracts from the pleasure of the game. So Jason, how about removing that penalty? Thanks!
LZ-Review,
Highly recommend
I tried several Sudoku apps before I found this one. Love it! My favorite thing about this app is that it really helps you learn along the way. The hints can be as simple as a suggestion but you can also link to additional information that teaches you new concepts. I also appreciate the ability to turn various information on & off. For example, I realized that focusing on beating my best time was distracting me from taking the time I needed to learn new concepts & advance to more difficult levels. Turning off visibility to the timer helped improve my learning.
AbrahamFroman,
Still the best
I've been playing sudoku with this app for about three years now and it's always been great. No updates that cause problems or take away from the game experience. I tried several apps back at the beginning and this one was exponentially better than the rest. I haven't looked lately because this app hasn't given me even one reason to look for something better. Try the free version then buy this to support this developer. He deserves it.

Edit: Now five years or so since I first tried then bought this app. Still the best! Still works, works fast, intuitive - everything I want. Thanks!
