KatGirlGem,
Great app for lazy Sudoku players like me!
I generally hate game apps for a multitude of reasons, but I LOVE this app. The thing I love best about this app is that it can fill the pencil marks for you. This is the part about Sudoku that I find most tedious, and it REALLY helps me want to commit to the logic part of the solves after the numbers are filled. I also love all the settings you can change, like turning off the clock. I absolutely hate being timed on things, but so many games out there are time-pressure-focused. Every once in a while I do something that sets the game board so I have to click on the cell and then hit the number I want, instead of just having the number selected and placing it where it belongs, and that breaks my brain because I can’t figure out how to undo that option. I end up having to shut the app down and restart to get back to my normal way of playing, but again, it’s something I’m doing by accident; just can’t figure out what it is. Anyway, I do play this game ALL THE TIME and I love it. The ads are SO non-intrusive, it’s like they aren’t even there. Great app!
Barujah,
SENSATIONAL AND BRILLIANT
The best mobile app by far. I virtually downloaded all the sudoku mobile apps in the market and deleted them one by one to keep this one. It also competes well with the fully fledged desktop programs. The only marginal improvement that can be added to this app is the possibility to position the candidates within a cell. For instance place the candidates on the corners of the cell or at the middle of the cell. The ideal would the ability to place individual candidates in a cell left center or right. This option will help determine whether the candidates placed in a cell are the only possibilities or if there are other possibilities. But all in all THE BEST MOBILE APP IN THE MARKET so far. I keep downloading news apps but none is a match. I can talk about the superiority of this app all day long: the choice of fonts, the coloring, the ability to enter one’s own puzzle etc etc.
Just Lil Me,
Great for Beginners & Pros
This app teaches you sudoku also. I highly recommend the tutorials. They have taught me so much. The game is great after you get to higher levels of play also. I’ve tried many different apps and always return to this one. The ads are unobtrusive with absolutely no pop-ups. They have a lot of difficulty levels so you are not jumping straight from easy to hard. When you get stuck you can get a hint and have the app teach you the logic behind the hint. For the more difficult levels I love it that the app can fill in your pencil marks. Unless I’m on a plane I usually don’t want to spend 15-20 minutes filling those in. :) This is the best sudoku app I’ve seen!
RubberBurninDV,
The Best App.
Ok, I’m gonna be honest. I got this app because I was looking for a sudoku app and this one looked like some 2014core ancient outdated app. I thought it would be funny.

To my surprise, this app was excellent in every way. The ads are super unobtrusive, and all content is available for free. Before playing this app, I didn’t really care about sudoku. This app generates such a nuanced degree of difficulties that I was able to start with what I could handle, and slowly step up to higher and higher difficulties.

There is a “learn” tab at the bottom that I highly recommend you check out. It gives strategies for every situation, and it explains them simply. It also offers to generate a game that will have that exact situation, for you to practice.

There are many customization options, but I didn’t even bother to look through them because the default settings are perfect. The only change I made was enabling the “coloring” tab on the bottom right.

I have no qualms with this app. At least as far as games go, this is a flawless app. This is the best app I have ever seen.

Daily Player
Great deployment of the Sudoku game. Many options are available for playing, along with different levels of difficulty. The hint function also provides you with an explanation, which increases your knowledge of the game. I typical play Sudoku to clear my mind using Sudoku Joy's random boards - which are available at all levels. I would highly recommend Sudoku Joy to anyone that likes to play Sudoku. The paid version lets you play unlimited games. The free version only lets you play one board per level per day, but is a great way to see if you like the feel of the game controls before you purchase the full version.
...Bee,
Great, straightforward app
This is a great, straightforward Soduku app. There are no weird gimmicky and unnecessary features. The controls are logical and easy to access, so you can quickly get to playing one or more games at any skill level of your choosing.

At completion, each round is rated against other players’ results. There are a number of features I don’t use, like saving and recording games (really?), but I have used the unlimited and the offline features for years. The ad bar is present, but not unbearable for afree game.
Mjy5,
Great for any style or level of Sudoku play
This is a very versatile Sudoku game. To begin with, it has styles of play to choose from, everything from a plainwrap with no illumination just as if you were doing a newsprint game to barely assistive to unlimited hints or partially-completed with only the hard moves left open. For those who like a lot of color, there are colored games where displays change. The level of play goes from the really easy to very, very difficult no matter how good you are. Fun and challenging.
Red61$,
My favorite Sudoku app
When I first started learning Sudoku, i installed 4 apps on my phone, this one is the only one left, even after removing the other three and adding two others. I love the training mode, and how each difficulty adds new skills to learn. I have been trying the most difficult ones in the newspaper, and appreciate the hint system, which starts by telling you which area to look, then each successive hint gives slightly more detail and, if needed, a full explanation. Great app, please keep up the development!
Sofuto Saru,
Crashes Frequently on iOS 14
I’ve used this app for years and love it. One really nice thing is the “Learn” link on the main menu, which leads to lots of helpful info. I especially like the link to Sudopedia, for advanced techniques, Sudoku theory, and the mathematics of the game. (Main menu > Learn > Other Resources > Sudopedia.)

Unfortunately, it crashes all the time on iOS 14.0.1 on my iPhone Xr. It just drops me out of the app, and doesn’t save the game.

I gave the developer the benefit of the doubt, and gave it 5 stars, since I’m sure it’s something they’re looking into... (?)
chasegetsbetter,
Best Sudoku App Available
This is without a doubt the best sudoku app available. There’s no other app that has puzzles as hard as this one, and actually teaches you how to get better. I’ve learned so many strategies that have improved my game tremendously. Also makes it faster and easier to play with a different (and optional) way to insert values. Just click the number then tap on the square. Highly recommend for all levels. I never write reviews but felt so strongly about this one.
