Swinebone091516,
Mobile app is great, Apple Watch usage is terrible
I’ve used this EHR while working in private practice. The app is very useful, although it sometimes hangs on different client’s information or doesn’t show a memo that was sent to me. My biggest frustration is the Apple Watch support they allege having. I’ve never had the app on the Apple Watch show that I have any clients scheduled for the day or that I have anything in my inbox. It’s basically useless and I might as well uninstall it again after hoping it might actually work for the second time.
ES psychotherapist,
I so much WANT to like this app my biller makes me use BUT.
I mostly want to pull my hair out it is SO klunky.
Even writing this review I can’t delete the one I wrote below two years ago that no longer applies.
CURRENT FRUSTRATION it won’t let me add patients to the calendar. A blank sheet covers the screen that says NEW PATIENT and there’s no way to get rid of this darn blank page covering everything else. I switched my phone off and on. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Drives me insane. I’m busy with patients. I can’t spend my whole day doing battle.

find this ridiculously frustrating as a psychotherapist and have tried multiple times to request this be changed with no follow-up. I am completely frustrated that I am forced to enter biweekly clients as weekly clients and then each week have to figure out which biweekly client will not be in that week and which client will be coming in and then deleting the client who won’t be in. Not to mention the confusion of reminders going out to the wrong person at times. SURELY this is a simple think for KAREO to fix. Rereading my review I wonder why I did not give it one star as I am beyond frustrated. My biller uses this app and so I must use it to coordinate with them and for this its features work well.
Bbbfksismsmfke,
Absolutely terrible product
This company is absolutely terrible and this app is pure garbage. I have a small business as a sole provider and purchased this service because of the portability and customization claims.
The app simply doesn’t work. Constant crashes, patients are missing in the app, can’t send prescriptions.
The online version is no better. Customization is minimal and not what was promised.
From a customer service perspective, Kareo is so frustrating. It’s difficult to reach someone by phone although they do send frequent automated emails from a “success coach” and you can make an appointment to discuss issues (usually days to weeks in my experience).
Please read the fine print before signing up with this company! There are no trial periods which is usually the sign of a bad product, and is absolutely true in this case. Once you sign up you are stuck with it for the entire agreement period, which was 1 year in my case. I was able to get 4 months off of my agreement after explaining that the service offers nothing that was promised. There are MUCH better alternative out there for small practices. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
sekimajazztu,
So bad it seems intentional
Never before have I used a more buggy and unreliable app. The desktop version is consistently buggy and dysfunctional and requires lengthy updates on a weekly basis. The UI is horribly clunky and depends on users to learn its workarounds.

Furthermore there is no schedule for IOS. You’ll have no functionality besides very basic and unreliable functions. When you mark a patent as roomed—assuming you are able to open the app at all (hit or miss) and the schedule is not completely empty (normal), there’s a strong possibility that these changes will not update to the desktop servers.

Be prepared to ruin your workflow and create endless headaches for your staff and possibly more revenue or mismanage your health records. Don’t even think of using this as an EHR for treatment records.
Meeeeeeffdsuce,
Necessary functions aren’t working
I’m the office manager for a private practice. We use Kareo for our medication providers. I have issues with Kareo in general, but have been, for the most part, pleased with the app until recently. As of a few weeks or so ago, the agenda/calendar function basically no longer works. It doesn’t let me filter providers or locations and doesn’t even populate them. All I have is the option for “all providers” and “all locations,” which shows me absolutely nothing. There’s effectively no way for me to see daily or weekly schedules through the app. The lack of updates on this app worries me and I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes abandoned.
drchrissymac,
A Few bugs
I’m having trouble scheduling appts on the app since it won’t let you select a visit reason. Need this feature to schedule while on the go.

Also issue with checking people in and out on the app. Also a necessary feature while on the go.
Deltadoc02,
Address the glitches!!!
As I review some of the reviews, I see a very unfortunate and persistent pattern in terms of issues. Every 3 logins, the app will glitch and I will have to submit login credentials. I used the correct email and password and kept getting the message that my login credentials were wrong-submitted the same credentials and then was able to log in. And why are we still NOT able to accept tentative appointments?!?! Lastly, I have sent several prescriptions that have failed to be submitted. It’s 2023-these are basic issues that should have been fixed a long time ago.
Dr. B 16,
Push notifications do not work
The app used to function okay and I was able to get push notifications when an appointment was requested or a message was received but after updating to iOS 16.3, I no longer receive push notifications. I’ve reinstalled the app twice, troubleshooted with Kareo support and have still not been able to receive push notifications. It has to have something to do with the latest iOS update, as everything was functioning fine up until the update. 😩
Bao885,
Calendar needs work
Overall has been helpful to allow me to look up my schedule on the phone.
However one critical problem is that “other appointments” registered through the desktop Kareo does not show up on the phone so causes me to miss appointments
jeannieologist,
Long term issues they never ever fix
No matter how many times I have called and had tech experts see the issues I am facing using their mobile app, there have been no fixes.
I need to DELETE and reinstall this app about once a week just to restore function. It will freeze irrevocably if you make certain typing errors when searching for a patient’s name.

Lastly, Kareo has been informed by me that I believe it is a severe safety violation that i as a prescribing NP cannot open up my patient’s uploaded documents and read their medical intake forms, which include allergies and current medications.

It’s very suss. Why won’t they fix their very well documented and known about app-errors?!
