Suzsho,
Fun game!
The first time I tried this game, I didn't like it. Then I gave it another chance and this time, with a more open mind, I enjoyed it. The pixel art definitely took some getting used to and the slow movement was frustrating at times (I took off a point for this), but once I settled in, I found it to be a good game with a fun atmosphere (spooky but not too horrific - the pixel art keeps it light), and definitely entertaining with puzzles that were fun to solve. Now I'm off to buy the next chapters after reading a review that said the slow movement had been addressed. It might not be in my top five (Gabriel Knight from the same developers is better) but it's definitely worth playing.

Update: I paid the $3.99 and got the other chapters. The game just kept getting better and better! All in all, a very good and satisfying game.
Jsl087,
Amazing Game
I hardly ever (maybe never!) write reviews but I had to because I absolutely loved this game! It’s hard for me to find a really good RPG that has a horror element that doesn’t rely on blood, gore, or jump scares to scare the audience. Don’t be put off by the pixels—the artwork is incredibly beautiful, detailed and altogether well done, and the fact that the game can still make you feel uneasy without any explicit graphics says a lot about the writing and gameplay. There are a few bugs here and there, but not so bad that you couldn’t just close the app and reopen it to make it work again. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is a fan of Lovecraftian horror.
Ncadmin,
The reviews look peppered
I can’t imagine that many people giving this five stars. Did they do a nice job on the Old School, yes. Did it have a storyline, yes. Did the puzzles follow the storyline, yes. Was the period time and surroundings matching the story? Yes. Could you use objects on objects in your pocket? Yes. Yes, these things are all good but...

It just lacked excitement. Lack luster. At times, you feel like you’re on a treasure hunt, aimlessly. Too many doors to remember what goes where. Too dark (it was correct to make it dark or candle lit but some things are hard to see.)

Back in the 90’s this game would have ranked a lot higher but today, not so much. I played only chapter one which took me about 4 days on and off. It’s better than I could do, but it’s not right for me and doesn’t deserve 5 stars.
xheatherkillsx,
Finishing Season 2... I’m hooked!
I truly can’t explain how amazing this game is. If you’re a fan of pixelated horror/suspense investigation games, you’ll love this. The story is enough to keep you interested and guessing, and the gameplay is a great mix of point and click with puzzle elements. As soon as I started playing it, I couldn’t put it down. And I got a ton of playtime out of the episodes. Well worth the price and season 2 is even better!
Tea berry-blue,
A decent but unremarkable point and click
This game was fine. It didn’t quite ever build the kind of tension or sense of mystery I wanted from a game with a supernatural horror theme, but I played through the entire game and the story was pretty engaging. I liked the old school graphics!

A few quibbles: first. the sensitivity of the hot spots for tapping on my iPhoneX was poor— many of the hotspots were well above the objects they were mapped to. Second, this game does have a scene that can’t be solved without sound, making this game inaccessible for Deaf/hoh players and confusing for anyone who plays with sound off, since it’s the only scene in the game of this type.

Cthulhu
Amazing game, I would highly recommend it to those who are fans of the Cthulhu mythos, The King in Yellow, or any of the other works of Robert W Chambers and H P Lovecraft. I feel like this game would have made Lovecraft himself proud.

I will say that this game is strongly based in psychological horror, and though it contains no jump scares, it still is a thrilling experience. Probably not best for anyone under 15
Rowowhatsthis,
It's definitely one of my favorites
It's definitely one of my favorite point n' click adventures i've played. The soundtrack is phenomenal and atmosphere is unparalleled. It only took me a few hours to complete but i've played through it three or four times.
Thę Weekend XØ,
Best game ever
I remember playing one called Deep Sleep , COOLEST horror game And mystery I have I ever played. I saw this one which looked the same so I got interested , I played it , best games I have ever played? Yes! Who ever took their time reading this thanks u! This didn’t waste time it was so fun , scary, interesting. I LOVED IT! Also I think I confused you cuz I confused me self😅😂👍🏼
Bad dancer,
Trigger Warning
The beginning of this game made me hate it 100%. It starts with you gathering a rope and chair and fixing everything for a suicide. Then you take your character, put him on the chair, and watch him dangle until his arms fall to his sides. I don’t care what quality the image is or if it is just some pixel character, this is not acceptable anytime or anywhere.

This is not what I expected and even just watching would have been better than actively being a part in it. I’m severely disappointed and this game now repulses me.
SaraReis,
Perfectly Creepy
Not kidding, my boyfriend and I are spooky dorks and we ended up playing this together on our first date. We’ve been together almost 2 years now. Now I’m not saying it was for sure this game that bound us together, but you can’t prove it wasn’t.
