The game is great! I play it everyday! It’s really realistic and there is no glitches. I like the sandbox feature is where you have unlimited money because I can get creative there. The idea of the game is to build the biggest and best city. There are zero pop-up ads which is cool. Now some things to improve: 1. In the shop I can buy a pass which removes disaster scenarios (sickness, fires, tornadoes etc..) for 100 gems. Which is not as expensive, however when you buy the pass it only works in one city. Which I think is stupid. I would maybe make it 500 gems but you can use it in ever city you make. Plus, you can disable the pass if you don’t want to use it. 2. Once I made a awesome city in the perfect area but I accidentally clicked small land. So it had limited space. I think you could change the size of the land or at least manually add land during the game. 3. Sometimes when I build a resident building people don’t move in. I don’t why though, I wish it would be written somewhere so you know why people aren’t moving there. That’s all! I totally recommend the game! First, I love this game I have been playing it a lot and it has a lot of cool features and buildings. There is nothing wrong but! I have noticed in the shop that the unlimited speed item dose not show the amount of money will be charged if you buy it. I would really want to know because I have been looking forward into buying it and well i really would like to buy it. But this is really stressing me out because i want it, but I don’t know how much money will be charged. But however, I love this game and i play it a lot and have spent money on it so I would really like to know how much money i am going to play for buying something available to but in shop.

I really love this game so please do something about it and i wouldn’t want people calling you a scam and suing it. Thanks, please fix!

I absolutely love this game. It reminds me so much of City Skylines, but has its own refreshing art style and mechanics. I especially love the agency and how there is so much content there’s no reason to stop playing! What I also very much appreciate is the connections you can have between you cities. You can connect water, power, garbage collecting, and other stuff too. It allows you to not have that stuff so you have more space to create! However, I wish you could have more connection between cities, like people have jobs in other areas of your region, so then I can have more space for residential zoning. Otherwise, it’s an absolutely amazing game!

Dear developers,

Release a paid full version and ditch the micro transactions.

This game goes back to the formula that made Sim City so great in the first place but unfortunately falls flat with the same micro transaction formula that so many apps utilize. I’d happily buy a full version of this game, but that’s not an option. Some features are locked behind the games ‘diamond’ currency (bought with real money or earned very slowly) and a lot of the strategy in city management is lost to these mechanics. For example, instead of taking out a loan you watch a 30 second ad and just receive as much money as you want.

There’s an awesome feature for installing player-made mods, but these are also locked behind the ad/micro-transaction formula. Some buildings can only be unlocked or places with the diamond currency.

There is immense variety and detail in this game. Traffic is dynamic and consistent, cities in the same region can’t be connected and interact like in Sim City 4, public transportation can be highly customized, and there is a surprising variety of environments to build in.

This game is already better than Sim City’s current IOS title, but the micro transactions hold it back and it will remain a three star game until that changes.

The lack of instructions and clarification on what I’m looking at in the menu and what things mean, such as the demands from my zones knocks the game down to four stars.
I love to spend time in the game, and the free plug ins are so worth your time and help to expand the game to your own liking customizing my town and managing everything is exactly what I want from a game like this, and it being a free app is one of my absolute favorite things about it.
The thing that knocks this down to three stars is the fact that watching an ad will break your game, the process for the ad to pull up its link to the AppStore never completes, so you’re frozen on the darkened version of the ad, and the only way to do anything is to fully exit and restart the game reloading at your last save point and not giving you the reward for the ad you watched.

TheoTown is the best city sim on iOS, period. No ads and no micro transactions (hooray!), with nice graphics and engaging gameplay. To me, it’s basically the only city game on iOS worth getting; the mechanics are pretty realistic (for example, there isn’t a bunch of silly, unrealistic junk like trying to collect three sneakers and an ice cream cone to build something *cough* SimCity BuildIt *cough*) and the plugins to get unique buildings are an awesome touch that makes your cities feel realistic and unique. If you liked SimCity 2000 back in the day, or even if you like Cities Skylines on your PC, this is a great way (and really, the ONLY way) to get that kind of experience on iOS. Five stars, hands down.

As the title says. It is a great app. However, I do have a few nitpicks about it. The busses are too OP and seem to get all the use. The cargo dropoffs for the trains seem to not do anything. And the harbors seem to not do what a harbor is supposed to do which is to move resources from one place to another efficiently. Would like to see the ships traveling from one harbor to the next instead of just going back and forth in one little spot. Unless maybe you add harbors to the transportation tab, and ship routes. The buoys seem to not do anything.

Other than those few nitpicks, the app is great, and perfect for those who have good management skills and for those trying to improve their management skills.

Theotown is a pixel art classic, beautiful, and timeless masterpiece of everything a city building game should be. This game is well worth the money and personally, I would pay double for it. Huge credit to the creators of this game as they payed attention to every last detail. The game flourishes the vibes of SimCity 2000 with an in depth game experience to the likes of Cities Skylines. This game throws it out of the park with gameplay. Don’t be fooled by the land size you begin with, you can create HUGE cities. Furthermore, this game allows mods (plug-ins) that make the gameplay even better. This game is better than SimCity Buildit by a mile. If you’re looking for a classic city building game, without IAP, this is it.

Hey don’t you hate a game that caps your progress still you’re spending over a $100 on it. No fear of that here, right out the gate TheoTown provides a fun and balanced experience. Yes you can pay more for in game currency, but never did I feel pressured or that it was going too slow. In fact, the game gives you plenty to get things you want. TheoTown is based largely off a classic title, but honestly does it mucccch better than the company that shall not be named lol. Thank you for bringing an old memory back to the forefront with an honest to goodness mobile game.
