Time killer and F2P friendly
Definitely fun and addicting with a very friendly community! Server 19 represent!
You start off with literally nothing up to creating and expanding your own little empire. You get your own market place, bank, hospital, estate, restaurant, place of living etc. Then you meet multiple wives, have kids to raise and hire your own military and which all make you stronger over time when you pour time and resources in. Tons of timed mini games every 1-3 days against your own server, cross server, guild vs guild stats and interactions!
You don’t need to spend money, but It has it’s paid benefits so yes it’s somewhat paid to win, but it’s not impossible to get to the top playing for free. It’s very expensive after VIP experience level 3 which in my opinion isn’t worth it unless you got money to burn. Money mainly gives you an edge on the timed mini games, getting stronger retainers and high intimacy beauties, most of them probably cost $500-$1k once you get the VIP experience to earn them. In-game currency ingots is where VIP “Top up” is how you earn this. Restrain yourself or you will get sucked in… I spent like maybe $45 and I’m in an okay spot just to see a free to play player just under me that played just under a week longer than me and tbh after maybe an hour of claiming you rewards and earning after daily reset… there’s not much else to do for a few hours, UNLESS YOU GOT THE MONEY.

Honest Review from an Asian
- First off, this game is mostly P2W, BUT as a F2P player myself, it's not hard to level up, as long as you do the dallies.
- In my server specifically Midas-S4, I haven't seen anyone getting bullied in world chat, it's mostly just people supporting/helping each other. Although the chat is not moderated, I still think a report chat button should be implemented just in case a problem ensues.
- I see that a main issue for people is how the game is "sexist/racist". Well, considering this game is based of Ancient China, it just makes sense. In the Ancient days, women were not respected and mostly seen as an object to gain heirs and damsels in distress. This game easily portrays that, and it may be considered "sexist", but you cannot deny what happened in the past, and this game basically just teaches you history (in a fictional/cartoony sense). Also, I don't recall how a character having slanted eyes is "racist" when that's a prominent facial feature on many asians.
- This game just reminds me of wuxia and xianxias, which are both period CDramas, so I guess I have a different viewpoint than most.
- Honestly, if you have an issue with the game's design, then don't play it, but also don't write hateful reviews filled with slander because of your ignorance of Chinese history.

Wonderful game!
Great game! I’ve been playing Golden Bazaar for a good bit and I’m glad this game has its similarities while remaining unique. My only complaints/suggestions are these. I like that you can have both male and female Beauties, but it’s a bit weird to have the male Esquire be the mother of an heir. Also, some of the events talk about wives when GB had “companions” as the key word to keep it gender neutral. If there was a way to use that similar gender neutral terminology regarding the harem since you can have both male and female beauties, that would be awesome. I also would like to second another review in stopping the mechanic of the heir’s voice line playing every time I tap to raise them. It gets annoying especially when I fast tap to get through vitality quickly. Other than that, I love this game!

Scamming legend
Before I start my review, I would like to state that this is an alright idle game if you are free to play. Even when I never spent money to keep up I was still placed around 40-60 in my server in earning just from plating daily. But if you are free to play, you will almost never EVER get outfits for the characters. Even when I save up the pay to win currency for events. I have only gotten one outfit and I always fall behind the people who pay for the monthly bonuses or other packs. I told myself that I would never spend money on this game but in the most recent event, they collaborated with a series that I remember reading when I was younger and I really wanted the exclusive outfits. I knew that I wasn’t going to get far enough in the event to get the outfits so I broke my rule and spent 30$ to get further in the event (Context: It said that I need to get to stage 6 in the event in order to get the outfit I wanted). After spending another 15$ I finally beat stage six only to be greeted with an update to the requirement to receive the outfit. It changed from stage 6 to stage 8. I have already spent 45$ total in order to get the outfit only for it to change the requirements once I reached the goal. I can’t really explain how angry I am at the game and myself for breaking my rule to not spend money on iOS games just to get scammed.

Not as Advertised
I haven’t seen anyone say about this so I will. There are many great potential to the game and it’s seemingly fun. I’ve put a few days into it and a couple of hours on and off through out each day. It’s fun in respect to what the game is. The problem I had with it, is that the game isn’t played the way it is advertised. This leads to false marketing in my opinion, it may not be false marketing under regulation, but it most definitely didn’t play the way I was advertised that it would play out. The ads I’ve seen are the fully rendered 3D models and animations with voice dialogues and interactions in a first person view. The game is fun and can be addicting for sure, but I don’t think it should be advertised as some fully 3D rendered animated game. It’s a clicking game where you click on stuff and you make stuff happen. It leaves me as a confusing player thinking I would see something different, but I was mislead. I’m not saying to don’t play the game, but know how it’s being advertised to the audience and what they want you to see the game like, when I’m reality it’s the opposite of that. 3/5 for a decent game but a misleading game.

Women play games too
This is a fairly fun game, slightly p2w as most mobile games are. There’s plenty to do and new things unlock with each level and the servers are small enough to have a really engaging world chat. HOWEVER, This game is so lazily put together. Characters in the game call you husband and father even if you play as a woman. Fulfilling objectives always gets you a female spouse and the male spouses are difficult to track down. The only female retainers are also beauties, as if the devs can’t fathom drawing a woman and not making her bangable. Literally every woman in the game is a potential spouse. Not a single laundress or fortune teller is an old or unattractive woman. It’s clear that the target audience is straight men and women are an afterthought. My server is about half women players, and many high paying players are women. It’s insulting that they don’t think any of us are worth the effort of a few line changes. If the developers weren’t interested in letting us play as women then why is there even a gender select option.

Was Great, But Strictly Pay2Win
Updated Review: This game is P2W only now. Every new server added spends more than the previous server and it’s to the point where the competition economy has been completely ruined. On Server 2 for example, the highest spending players have about 300 Million earnings, whereas on Server 10 the players have over 2 BILLION in earnings. An increase of 566%! Despite all the events being bought and sold to the highest bidder, the disparity in earnings among the servers ruins the cross server competitions. It doesn’t even make sense that the new servers have earnings soo high when top players spend small fortunes every single day and have been playing for over a month. All the sudden these new servers open and new whales flood in and blow out the competition with their stacks of cash. It’s out of control. This is all a pity because the game is actually quite nice and the community is not toxic. It’s just the business model of the game that is questionable. I can’t see this game retaining its long time players at this rate.

When everything works it’s great
For the most part this is a pay to play game if you want to be really successful. Definitely pay attention to your charges. If you are double charged your going to have to go through your bank to cancel . There service is trash. I was recently charged 32$ twice for a pack I didn’t even receive the correct vip points earned so a missed out on a new retainer and all the vip earned in a a day rewards. When I wrote too them their response was hello our system indicates you record 198 vip points and 98. I showed them the screenshots for both the purchase and the vip total earned page . Both have timers on it to so that they could validate but they still won’t resolve the issue . So not only was I charged 38$ for something I didn’t receive correctly I also got charged another 32$ duplicate charge that I didn’t even receive anything for . Cool to play just don’t spend your money they will rip you off and not give you what you paid for and act like they did.

This game really is fun
I saw an ad for this game and decided i would download it since i’m currently in summer break and am looking for way to keep me entertained. I’ve been playing this game for less than a week and have gained 1 million earnings per second without spending money on the game. You really have to work at this game and get into a good guild early on to become good. If it wasn’t for my guilds level of activity i wouldn’t have played this game so long. I’m a very competitive person so trying to get leveled up fast enough to keep a good rank on my server is hard but also allows me to have something to look forward to. Overall if you like tycoon games and older Chinese art this is the game for you!

Best tycoon game
I started playing the game a few days ago and already I’ve lost hours just upgrading my status and exploring the world. There’s nothing that you can do wrong and even though it used to be P2W I don’t think it’s like that anymore. I love tycoon\idle games and so far this is the most addicting one. Fans of the game fate of the empress would enjoy this too, and maybe even fans of Genshin impact. The most annoying thing that I would really like to change is the fact that when you are upgrading an character, retainer, or a beauty in the game they keep repeating the same line over and over and over again which, as you can imagine, annoying.
