It’ll scratch that itch, but the UI is miserable
The controls/UI are stunningly bad (looking at you road/rail placement tool) and there are some major quality of life issues such as the amount of effort it takes to replace your vehicle fleet, or the amount of menus you have to navigate to buy, place, and route vehicles, or how the see-through buildings/trees option still somehow manages to be difficult to see-through, or a hundred other issues that plague this port. Open Transport Tycoon on PC blows this version out of the water in comparison.
That being said, if you need your mobile fix of TTD, this is it. It’s definitely that sweet transportation management/planning action that you so desperately crave. For all my complaints, I’ve logged an absurd number of hours since downloading it last week. It doesn’t seem like the developer is interested in doing anything other than making sure this app is up to date with the latest iOS, so don’t expect any fixes for the issues. But you know you’re going to get it anyway.
That being said, if you need your mobile fix of TTD, this is it. It’s definitely that sweet transportation management/planning action that you so desperately crave. More ideas for improvement
This game is great, I love it so much, I have too many saves. But at one point you just have too much money and too little space to do anything. That’s the main issue. Anyway the next review is from last year. Ok so updated, because I saw a good point in another review, iPad is a good format to play on, but the boats feature is terrible. You have to manually route them in order to get them to work and, not many people use the boats. Also, what you’re about to read is something I wrote years ago. Hey could you add maybe crashes? Like vehicles can crash? Can you also add highways? Like highways that get auto built by the game? Also add cars! Please that would be awesome because there aren't just lots of trucks and buses and trams in a city is there? Also last but not least...BIG RIGS! The icon of this game shows a tractor trailer but in the game you only have trucks without trailers and that's what I want you to add pleeeeeeaaaaaassssseeeeee!

Almost brilliant
Railroad tycoon 2 is one of my favorite games ever. This is basically the same game with some added stuff like buses, boats, and planes. However, the interface on the iphone is extremely frustrating. Removing any mistakenly laid track is a nightmare. Plus the whole boat aspect is pretty messed up.
Please update so that the demolish/bulldozer can remove track. Why do we even have the bulldozer if all it can remove is trees? Might as well have just given us a chainsaw! Also make it so boats can refuse certain items, so they don't get caught running all over the map rejecting large shipments just because they're carrying four units of food!
In all honesty, I love this game but those couple features have irritated me to no end. Thanks!

Improvements that Should be included
I have been a avid player of this game for years and I have one suggestion that should be considered is the feature from Chris Sawyer’s Locomotion; the availability to make custom scenarios! To be honest about this my mostly expanded map capabilities in the Boulder Bay challenge by expanding the island’s size but when certain goods and food services aren’t available to fully accommodate the three main cities, because of the lack of food industries that should be available to accommodate for higher percentages, my point is that I don’t looking at low numbers for satisfaction. Please at least offer some variations of the Boulder Island challenge with other industries, I have made my own custom scenarios in Locomotion but wishing if there was some ability to share the custom scenarios directly to the mobile app. If that’s possible I would be very inclined to give a five-star rating if this team could accommodate for such needs.

Fun, Addicting & Time Consuming
This is one of the best mobile transport sim-like games I’ve ever played. Though there are still some downsides, like not being able to delete a save; I can’t remove roads if they’re claimed by a town, even if I put the road there in the first place; not being able to delete roads of a competitor if they go bankrupt; the fact that I can’t build tracks across tracks built by a competitor; and probably the most annoying one, only having 1 bridge type that can go up and down. But other than that, its still a great game. I hope to see more updates to this in the future.

Please update this game because it’s fun to play, this game reminds me of Chris Sawyer’s Locomotion but better. But I’m tired of working hard to get to lvl 70.0 and the game crashes and I had auto-save on but when I opened the game after the crash I was back at lvl 34.0 even though the game saved before it crashed also I had $15M before the crash and when I went back into the game I was at $0 and all of my vehicles were making $0/h then the game crashed once again. So can you please update this fun game. Thank you.

Please update for iPhone 12: I love this game
I love this game so much. It is quite fun to challenge myself to make a smooth working transportation business. To strategize which resources and trains to utilize first to increase my income to expand further. However, this game no longer works on my phone. Hasn’t for a couple years since that’s how long I’ve had this new iPhone. I really miss playing this game and would gladly pay to have this game work for my phone. Please update!

Omg.. This game is from the 90’s and still better than any train game to date...
Funny how I was playing this same game on the turn of 2000. Computer based so you had a mouse to control everything.. but still, why can no other developer conjure up a game that is half like this one.. too busy trying to make ways for you to have to collect “keys” crystals, diamonds and so forth to be worried about creating an epic game that last longer than 20 years... hahah...

Needs updated, broken in current state
Edit: I loved this game (see first review below) but it needs updated. Please developers don’t abandon this. It seems to me that it hasn’t been updated for iPhone X and above because the UI text is crazy small and the graphics are all messed up on this new screen size. Unplayable sadly.
First review: I used to spend hours a day playing Locomotion on the computer and now that I'm older I'm glad I can spend time playing this classic on my iPhone and iPad. Super addicting and the controls were transferred to a touch screen very well with almost no problems. Overall the best game I have on my phone right now.
