DBleeze,
Excellent adaptation for iPad
This has become one of, if not my favorite games on iPad. If you are into simulation city builders this is a must own. The graphics are console quality and the touch controls are spot on. It is a rarity when a PC game comes to iOS and you are not hindered by touch controls. If anything, I feel they enhance this game. The game play is fun and there is a lot of replay value here.

I have read a lot about crashing and losing saved game data but I have not experienced any of this. I am playing on a brand new iPad Pro 12.9” with the A12x chip so this may have something to do with it. Also, recent updates are aimed at these issues.

The only issue I see is battery drain. If I am playing for longer than 30 minutes I will usually have to plug my iPad into power but this is to be expected with such a graphics intense game. I am pretty surprised they were able to pull this off at all (although I shouldn’t be after seeing what Feral Interactive has done with Tomb Raider on Mac). Great job bringing excellent games to Mac and iOS. Can’t wait to see what is next!
Eriptron,
The Experience I expected!
UPDATE!:

My iOS must have been bewitched or haunted (All Hallows Eve is coming after all...!) After deleting/reinstalling the app twice with no change. Rebooting my iPad numerous times, nothing made any difference. It was like I was trying to run Tropico on an old, underpowered, home built PC. I intended on deleting Tropico and forgot too. The next day (?) I saw Tropic’s icon and was ready to remove it. I decided to try it one last time. Everything is working perfectly! Not asking any questions, only playing! I started around 11pm and the next thing I knew, it was 4:30am! LOL. World building should be so easy in the SimCity app.

—————-
First startup, after the Kalypso graphics, just a black screen with music.

Restart game and get further but the graphics freezes and the music keeps playing.

The third attempt to play Tropico the graphics stutters and freezes like the old PC days but keeps moving on. The graphics are fuzzy, like looking through a haze of smoke. Tutorial is buggy. Says, select a citizen. It took almost 5 minutes to find anyone. Then it turns night and is raining. Can’t find anybody again. Finally, I find a woman. Select her and then the Tutorial says to select “?”. Nothing. Tried again, no response. Thank you for bringing the PC problems with the game’s port to iOS. I am using the 1st Gen iPad Pro on iOS 12.3.1.
I’m deleted Tropico as it is just plain terribly and wastes 2.5GB of memory! I’ll try and get a refund from Apple.
AlaskaDaveAK,
Fantastic port! Great additions
Feral have brought Trópico mobile! This is the classic game we all love but Feral have made some fantastic additions to ease gameplay and make the overall game more intuitive. These additions relate to things like making roads, adding upgrades to buildings, overall construction, overall demolishing and keeping the flow of your island nice and fine-tuned! The game has the same menus but the UI has been updated for ease of use on the iPad, while also allowing builders quick access to everything they need to keep their island growing! The addition of Architect Mode is amazing, and really makes building on the iPad easy and fun. The graphics have kept the older fun Haemimont style but Feral have added depth and saturation to the beautiful colors. This is exactly how you port an older game into the technology of 2018! Thank you, I’ve never clicked “BUY” faster 😁
mr boom 23,
Very good game!
To start off this is a great game, The graphics are phenomenal and the details, don't even get me started they are soo good there is a literal donkey that moves in the teamster's office, that just goes to show that they put tiny details that no one might see but still put them there! But as with any great game, there are some things that can be added, the first being... Moving buildings! it may just be me but I can not move them and it would be so good to be able to! The second, mods! it would nice to be able to add mods to the game so that other ideas can be put in, the last thing I would like to see added is... more buildings and variations! such as more docks, airports, skyscrapers, shopping centers, and vehicles Ect. I hope you like my ideas please consider them,

-bye :)
Cab29538,
Great port dated game
I give this game a 5 star because feral deserves it for how well they did porting this over. The touch controls are great and the game runs buttery smooth on the latest iPad non pro. That being said it’s basically a port of Tropico 3 which with the recent pc release of tropico 6 is now starting to really show its age. Building selection is limit like it was in the original 3 and the lack of eras gives little to strive for once your economy is humming along. I do hope feral decides to make some dlc with additional buildings in the future.
All that being said tropico has always filled a cool niche between city builder, island, economy, and dictator sim and feral deserves credit for taking a risk on porting this game to mobile, especially in this era of pay to win mobile gaming.
Wallydog4,
Strategy???
I’ve played the game many times. I’ve completed campaigns but I have a few complaints... The game makes it’s own mind on how it’ll be played. I’ve set up several scenarios and the ticker still scrolls the same messages. I’ve had many scenarios where I’ve had several factories but there would still only be $4,000est. sitting on the docks! I’ve had a dock with over $40,000 then my finances fall off! I’ve had 10 farms and people still die of starvation! I’ve had 3 clinics and two hospitals but people still die of poor healthcare! I’ve “tested” this game and it has failed! I LOVE Tropico and I’d live to play in my travels (as I did in the very first game) but I don’t like being lied to! I don’t mind losing as long as its honest and not a pre-programmed outcome...
Prince_Sargon,
Love it
I really enjoy this games it gives you a lot of different challenges and keeps you focused it’s a great time passer, But one problem I always seem to have is the Starvation problem in my islands no matter how many farms, markets,or restaurants I add once my population goes over 100 citizens starvations starts to become a problem

I thinking this problem could be solved by adding a system to manually manage how much you export or even import. This could also be an easier way to manage your economy since you’ll have control of how much you export

As a cool feature you can add a building (a World Trade Center or something) that you have to buy in order to unlock the export/import management system
Chris Cary,
iPad (Pro)’s first good city-builder title!
This has quickly become my favorite game on my iPad Pro, and it makes what-should-have-already-been-obvious obvious in how to make the iPad a computer gaming device. I’ve really been hoping for a city builder in the vein of SimCity without a handicapped interface, without in-app purchases, without free-to-wait timers…and they really did it. This really is the actual experience that we grew up with, but on today’s platform.

EA really ought to notice…but they won’t. They’re too busy turning our childhood franchises into casino machines. If this is a harbinger of things to come from Feral, I can’t wait to see what’s next! I’d personally have paid twice as much for such a good game.

Suggestion for Feral (Tropico Team)
I’ve been playing this game for a while on the Ipad, so far it is pretty good I have to admit, but what I will say is that you should add at least slightly better graphics to give it a smoother texture. (Not that it is bad right now) It should be on the settings page for how you want to customize your game. This way you can optimize battery consumption. (By the way, so far my battery has been great with this game)

🔆Try to make the game like the new version coming out Tropico 6. Instead of 3, if your on a budget at least 5.🔆

Another suggestion is to add more content. Now I understand adding content is costly. So, just like you did on pc and Xbox, you should put a price on it. Not too much, or else no will buy it. If you can pull it off and make this version of the game like the upcoming Tropico 6 I am almost 99.9% sure that a lot of people would have a change of heart.

You should also add more merengue or Music. This way the same songs don’t repeat them selves to much.

If you a customer looking to see if you want Tropico. I highly recommend it.
Brad Isaac,
This game is a blast!
Been playing this for hours today with no crashes, or excessive heating. I am ipad Pro 10.5”. It does seem to use alot of power because I kept it plugged in, yet it did drain the power 20%.

Had a great time building my island economy. Went the strait way and attempted to be a good leader. But there are ways you can be an evil dictator, fixing elections, assassinating opposition leaders and protestors.

While doing my very best to be a benevolent leader, humorous radio announcers pop in with their commentary about what a jerk I am. There are hilarious assistants who pipe in with their advice about how you are the most important, loving caring leader in the world. So if you like someone kissing up to you at all times, you’ll love it.

The only problem I found was there are screens with quotations that pop up at the end of the year. Those pop up for a fraction of a second, so you cannot read them. Fix that and the game would be perfect. Though now, it’s pretty darn close.

I would recommend this to people who like Prison Architect, Craft the World and other City Builder games.
