Become history’s greatest rail baron in Sid Meier’s Railroads!, a classic of the tycoon genre now available for iPhone and iPad.

In this captivating mix of model train set and railway management simulator, lay tracks and optimise routes to establish lucrative networks of cities and industries, transporting passengers, raw materials and goods across continents.

Grow profits through efficiency, innovation, and shrewd business decisions as you acquire valuable patents, trade stocks, and build or buy industries. Compete with world leaders and industrial titans to achieve the ultimate goal — becoming the greatest railroad tycoon of the age!

===

CREATE AN EMPIRE OF THE RAILS
Carefully lay tracks and design routes to transport freight and passengers, refining and improving operations until your railroad runs like clockwork.

STEAM ACROSS 16 CHALLENGING SCENARIOS
Test your entrepreneurial mettle in a mix of historical and fictional scenarios, each with a distinctive map and unique objectives. Establish the first passenger line in 1830s Great Britain, stitch together the American West during the Gold Rush, or help Santa with the Christmas rush at the North Pole!

COMPETE WITH HISTORY’S BEST
Take on world leaders and captains of industry. Grow your business by acquiring industries and railroad-revolutionising patents, or play the stock market and buy out the competition.

BRING 40 FAMOUS TRAINS TO LIFE
Play with historically important engines from early steam locomotives like Stephenson’s Planet, to the high-speed French TGV, and many iterations and innovations in between.

BUILD THE MODEL RAILROAD OF YOUR DREAMS
Take the pressure off in Train Table Mode. No competition, time limits, or financial constraints — just all you need to create a railroad that’s as fun to watch as it is satisfying to build.

mageo'wen,
Best Railroad Game Out There
So happy that Feral brought this to iPhone! Been waiting so long for this game to be portable so thanks so much for taking a great game and bringing to IPhone! Definitely recommend to all train enthusiasts and gamers! Wanted to ask a question to developers. I have all sounds effects up to the max, but the train whistles and any talking at the stations (like all aboard) I can barely hear, both of these were louder on the PC version. Is this something I can make louder? Or maybe a glitch that can be fixed? Thanks again!
Bob Dewalrus,
Just like the old days
If you remember this from when it came out on PC, the port is faithful and plays just the same. The trains and maps look great and the interface is fine once you figure out where everything is. It’s a fun, well designed game, but if what you’re looking for is a model train set, be forewarned. There is a sandbox mode, but the main game involves a lot more than laying tracks, choosing engines, and routing cargo. Stock prices, patents, changing markets, and cutthroat competitors all must be managed. For me that business layer is too prominent and saps some of the joy out of running your railroad. But not enough to keep me from recommending this if the premise sounds appealing. A lot of train joy still shines through.
spacetek7,
the last railroad tycoon
I remember when this game came out on PC. It was the last installment of the Railroad Tycoon series. It is just like I remember and plays really well on iPad. Lots of fun. My only complaint about this game, and it’s a complaint I had when it originally came out, is the laughably tiny maps. It takes no time to conquer the map, especially with 3 players. I don’t know why that change was made from the large maps of older games. I wish there were more Railroad Tycoon and Transport Tycoon games!
Ferrin66,
PERFECT!
THIS is what IOS games used to be… Just hours of absolute fun with no Nickel and dime charges… I used to love this game on PC when i originally came out and I’m thankful to Feral for bringing it back for IOS without changing it!
gapabba,
Fair Port
iPad with mouse connected keeps asking, “use mouse, or no?” Low batt warning can provoke it, multitasking can provoke it. Sometimes, the popover is not accessible or does not grant mouse access. iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard and iPadOS 16.4.

Game itself also contains some bugs that may have existed in PC prior to port — multiple issues laying track, especially when constructing double track lines. Trains don’t always route well or use the available track. Blocking opponents in during early game can prevent them from connecting a city, making stock purchase impossible, leading to a score penalty.

Aside from the bugs, the overall game is fine, but not special. No incentives or logging for victory conditions. Simplified economy and small maps with low-grade AI opponents.

RRT3 remains a better version of SM RR Games. Yay, it’s great to have another port on another device. But does that make it worth the $13 current asking price? Nah. Wait for a sub-$5 sale, or just play this game on PC.
iammikeDOTorg,
Beautiful, but buggy
Spent a few hours on my first game, eventually tracks stopped appearing, and later the game crashed and no saves would load without crashing, even old ones well before the initial crash.

If that happened on my first game this clearly wasn’t baked long enough.

Not wasting my time on a second play only to have it potentially be for naught.
davidtr8,
Too many crashes
The game crashes frequently after mergers
Works a little after liquidation, but still crashes occasionally
Maybe related to deleting your own station or depot to place it in a better location or when adding switches to double track

Great game!
Same as on the Mac, really well done port. Runs super fast, only real downside is the battery life it drains from the iPad but that’s to be expected. Please more of these ports, we need real games on iPad!
Ritchie Bananas,
Great game!
Great game and beautiful port!

Please please please do a port of Sid Meiers Pirates! It’s a great classic that was on iOS before the switch to 64 bit.

Anyways again great game and thank you for yet another excellent mobile game.
Ric Flair!,
Amazing port!
I’ve been playing this game for YEARS. One of my all time absolute favorites! Feral, you all have done an amazing job at porting this classic, so job well done!
