Frustrating
I found the app very frustrating. I liked the idea so I downloaded it. It constantly moves while you are trying to read. You have to hold the screen to pause and can’t remove your finger. One slight slip and you’re forward or back as a tap on the right or left is like a page turn. I couldn’t figure out how to permanently pause it so that I could talk to my wife. After losing my place five times on my first try, I decided to write this review!
Update: After the developers response I redownloaded this app and tried the text reader setting and it worked like I wanted it to. It was a bit tricky to find as I looked for it before starting a book. Afterwards I remembered seeing it before, but the title made me think that a robotic voice was going to start reading it to me. It makes sense now and I’m testing the app out further. I’m an Audible consumer and purchase lots of books. I also take full advantage of their return policy as they only offer a very limited sample of the book before purchasing and they have no rating system in place. I will not pay good money to listen to someone cursing in a book. I can get that at work for free!

Great for readers and learners
I love love this app. I enjoy reading, and this gives me the opportunity to learn insights from books I have been dying to read and insights from books I might not have picked up!! I love learning little tidbits of information in 5 minutes. I also noticed that when I picked up my phone this morning, I opened this app and not my usual Facebook, TikTok, etc. This app is a much better way to start my days. Thank you to the developers and everyone involved in this app!

Lovely App But Repetitive
I love this app so much that I purchased a yearly membership. But there is only one problem with it. Many of the books' insights can be very repetitive. It's as if they keep repeating passages. I contacted support about it, and they stated positively that they do this on purpose to instill the lessons, but they sometimes go too far. Instead of repeating the same passages, try adding new ones. They already quiz you on what you read on a daily basis, so that is a great way to instill the lessons. But that is my main gripe about the app. Repeating passages almost appears to be the easy, lazy way to put together a book. Aside from that, I have learned a lot in a short amount of time, so I guess you could say it is still worthwhile.

The idea and execution is truly here.
Small notes: I basically immediately felt like I was in “Snapchat for knowledge” which is great because they use their news feature in the exact same way however for pop culture news references.
Snap doesn’t always show the bar at the top of a content feed so seeing the bar, I noticed, began making me anxious to feel that I needed to read at a certain pace.
Maybe have a feature where you can hide the time bars at the top would help?
I also JUST downloaded the app so that could already exist but I haven’t been able to look further.
Lastly.. I noticed the, get other examples, portions tends to just be the same information repeated. I understand the need to re use content in order to not have too much in the pipeline for content creation but maybe writing a different piece of content there will stand out or rewriting the same idea in a different way will work better?
Most people may not notice? But it could be annoying for people like myself.
Otherwise this really can be something great!
Small notes: I basically immediately felt like I was in “Snapchat for knowledge” which is great because they use their news feature in the exact same way however for pop culture news references.
Snap doesn’t always show the bar at the top of a content feed so seeing the bar, I noticed, began making me anxious to feel that I needed to read at a certain pace.
Maybe have a feature where you can hide the time bars at the top would help?
I also JUST downloaded the app so that could already exist but I haven’t been able to look further.
Lastly.. I noticed the, get other examples, portions tends to just be the same information repeated. Uptime concept could be great, but scope is limited
The concept of short “life hack” trainings to increase our awareness of new concepts is a good one.
The weakness in this app is that it only allows for a progressive mindset. While many of the existing subjects are good ones, they lack a positive perspective on subjects such as: Positive aspects world religions (such Christianity and Islam). The service provided by capitalism and serving others to serve ourselves.
In short, this app limits learning to progressive ideas and thoughts. This is unfortunate, but could be corrected quite easily, if the authors of the app chose to do so.
Also, the addition of technology (how does AI work) and psychology lessons ( why am I like I am) would greatly add to the value of this app.

DON’T TRY THE TRIAL
I was interested in what I could learn and tried out the trial. I canceled it after a few days because there were some noticeable issues such as repetitive quotes every single time. Or the app wouldn’t work if I put down my phone and let it turn off. Also the audio would never work with my car. I was still charged $80 for the subscription even though I cancelled before the trial ended. I don’t have the app downloaded and haven’t for ages. I have tried disputing with Apple then tried reaching out to Uptime’s customer service and NOTHING. They don’t exist at this point. Last thing I can try is disputing with my bank. Horrible customer service because it’s nonexistent and glitchy subscription.

Absolutely In Love With This App
I’m a lifetime learner and have wanted something like this but every other alternative I’ve found costs a great deal over time. This one is free and amazing! I love being able to get the best meat of books and courses and then be able to easily find them if I want to deep dive and read or take the courses myself. I love being able to get the bite sized information in my free time in so many ways. I can read, listen, or watch a slide show and it’s truly incredible! I can’t say enough good things about this app!

The best app I’ve encountered
I am so thrilled by this app. By being able to learn so many things in a short length of time saves me so much extra time. I’ve had tons of these books on my TBR but I haven’t been able to get to them because of the time it takes to get through an entire book. This app is helping me learn and gain knowledge in various subjects and saving me time in the process. Also, I love the variety of literature in this app. My favorite app so far. Thank you!!

Quickly becoming my new favorite app
I fell in love with this app overnight and it has quickly become my go to for all things big and small. Whenever I have free time, instead of mindlessly scrolling Instagram, I now have the luxury of being able to learn whatever I want, in the version of very digestible information from all the books I’ve always wanted to read, but no longer have the time for!

Great app but it lacks some organized features
I absolutely love this app and how fast and easy it is to digest the hacks on books, however I wish it had some added organizational features for the saved hacks. This app would be perfect if there was a way to sort saved hacks by read vs unread, category (customizable sections to add certain hacks based on personal preference) and genre. It would also be really convenient if there was a way to take notes or add highlights to each hack within the app in addition to a bookmark feature.
