AndrewEx,
Download Poor
I downloaded the app because of the paperless license. Great idea except when the app updates it removes all your downloads. I shouldn’t need to check the app every time I go fishing to see if my license is still there.

So now, I’ll be still printing off my license so that I don’t have to worry about getting checked and receive a warning because the app updated and removed my downloaded license. Or a ticket.

This should be an easy update for senior developers to create a function that will prevent the app from removing downloads.
Bushi PK Ninja,
Decent App
I like the layout and the cleanliness of it. However, I don’t find it to be very practical. Its not worth the space on my phone. HOWEVER...

What would make this app a 5 star in my mind would be if it had a location finder or a hunt planner (walkthrough) to make it easier for fishermen and hunters alike. The current one is small and hard to read on a phone. A responsive format would be great!

Ex: For fishing, Display all local rules and regs for a body of water. You can search by a region. Then narrow it down to bodies of water. Have an option to enter a zip-code. Include not just a fish identification portion as to which fish you can take but limits as well. Same with hunting. User friendly (and responsive) format for hunts. An option saying based on your current licenses, this is what you can hunt this week. (Ie: person wants to hunt cotton tail, but dove is open too and jackrabbit and deer but at ‘x’ price and with a ticket.

Notifications of winning a drawing would be cool too!

The app should help inform in an easy and clean way and take some of the work out of planning a hunt or fishing trip.

Links to videos on how to care for game after it is possessed would be helpful too. Think ‘old outdoorsman teaching young rising outdoorsman’. Pass on the legacy via the app too!

We have 21st century technology I say we use it! Let’s make it easier for hunters and fishermen alike to go out so more will want to! That means more money for the DWR overall! HOORAH!
Garrett hate the DWR app,
Genuinely the worst app I’ve ever used
Every time I use this pile of crap app I want to tear my hair out. You can tell it was made by a bunch of ancient people who have no clue how to app development works. It’s impossible to log in every time and it never listens to my inputs. What a nightmare. If I could leave zero stars I would.
calzone.onsets,
Great Resource
Congrats to Utah DWR on a good job. This app gives me what I need and more than I expected.
BJS84043,
Doesn’t download licenses
Pulls up my account, but won’t download my licenses. Tried several times in different ways. Same result.
Pzote,
Horrible app
Purchased a fishing license. Payment accepted. Can’t download the license and it can’t locate my account. What a waste.
jnamzloh,
Needs a lot of work
Update:
With this app, you are now able to load and save you hunting and fishing license for added convenience. Although this is helpful, I still keep this app rated for two stars and my original review still stand besides this new addition.

Original Post:
It's a good idea but the majority of the app requires service to use because it always directs you to the DWR website. The whole point of having the app is to have the information when you need it, which is most likely in the field where cell phone service isn't always available. Also it would be nice if the app could save my licenses, every time I go to open up my licenses I have to login with my birthday and my customer ID number, which ironically is located on my license that I can't open because I have there is no way to save a license on the app. Not a well thought out app and needs a lot of work to make it useful to most sportsmen, as of right now I do not recommend this app. It is much easier to just carry a copy of the hunting and fishing regulations with you if you need information.
girlshunttoo93,
Link duck stamp/blue card to app?
Overall I’ve found his app to be very helpful! The maps outline your exact region so you know where your boundaries are if ever in question and access to shooing hours is easily accessible. The reason for 3 star review is it needs a little more. Having your license on your phone is great and paper-free, but I still have to carry my hard copy with me because of the federal duck stamp. It is a bit pointless to use the app in this case. Finding a way to take and add a picture of signed stamp to the app or a picture of hard copy license with duck stamp on it or a link of purchased stamp would be excellent! Same with the blue card. In terms of licenses, the point of this app is to have all licenses together and easily accessible -which it is. But why use it when you need to bring hard copies along anyway for proof. Just a few thoughts that I hope is taken into consideration.
ForzaItaia,
Great app / a little consideration
I realize that this is for the state of Utah. I also realize that the duck stamp is federal. But perhaps in your upcoming meetings and as other states put together a similar app, you could potentially link the duck stamp to your license. Despite having my license on here, I still need to bring the license because that's where my stamp is. Just a little more food for thought, but for now this is a fantastic leap forward!!
TripleTTTranch,
Good First Try - Need Much More
It's nice to be able to store licenses and permits on your phone. The species ID is nice. However, the app should not link to the DWR website for info. All regulations and field guides should be pushed to my phone and updated automatically. Licenses, permits, HIP#s, etc. should be pushed to the phone automatically no matter where they are purchased. The App should be a vault with all my hunting info - automatically. Should be able to purchase licenses $ permits through the app. This is a smart phone. Please use it to its full potential. :)
