Nice App - Great Customer Service
I bought a year subscription on Black Friday last year and unfortunately got auto-renewed without knowing, getting charged the full price of a year subscription. I thought I cancelled my subscription and the application was not super helpful in dealing with the issue. I called customer service and within seconds was put through to Matthew who did an outstanding job of explaining the issue and authorized a refund immediately. I appreciate this level of customer service and responsiveness.
The app itself was nice, and largely did what it was intended to do. The distances were mostly correct and the shot tracking was usually accurate. I think a real game changer for them would be adding a feature like 18Birdies where you can pay for a subscription that allows you to see true yardage that takes into account elevation, wind speed, outside temperature, etc.
I would recommend this app to a friend.

Excellent golf app
I’ve used several different golf apps over the past many years and V1 Game is the best I’ve found so far. Accurate, easy-to-consume yardage information to guide shot selection? Check. Simple, efficient and comprehensive shot tracking data capture, including an Apple Watch app? Check. An amazing range of advanced stats, including strokes gained calculations, to help you understand your game and plot its improvement? Check. For me, it’s the stats set this app apart from the others I’ve tried....they are impressive and will only get more so the more rounds you capture. Also, for someone like me who plays the vast majority of my golf on one course, I like the ability to visually display the history of my shots on each hole. And, I like the ability to easily share information with my swing coach. It’s a very new app, so I look forward to seeing how V1 Sports takes it forward.

Great app!
I’ve used several apps and devices to track my distances and rounds over the years. I used to love Game Golf until the battery died in the belt device and I learned you couldn’t change it out. Terrible design, basically a $200 throw away device. I decided to give V1 a try and couldn’t be happier. No more RFID buttons screwed into my grips and no more manual tagging my shots! I love this app!
I use the Apple Watch feature and I t’s accurate, easy to use once you figure out how to mark all your penalty and recovery shots, and the stats I get really help me focus on things I need to do to improve my rounds.
My last few rounds I have shaved a few strokes off and my handicap has gone down. I believe it has a lot to do with using the stats acquired from the V1 app and it how it has me rethinking working my way around the course. Well done V1!

Awesome app and east to use
This app is wonderful and much better then other tracking apps out there. This ones allows you to auto track your shots so during a tournament you can still have your stats- Amazing! I like the aspect that you can customize your bag so your stats are more accurate. It’s nice even when your just playing for fun with friends because it allows you to get a yardage to a bunker or water just by tapping on it! It’s amazing how just an app can help improve your golf game. The stats feedback is unbelievable and super in depth especially if what your plugging in is as accurate as can be. I have not used the apple watch version yet, but it doesn’t run your phone battery down hardly at all unlike other similar apps with is nice.

Great concept, terrible development and functionality
I love the concept of the app but the auto subscription from the App Store never seems to update within their app. This causes me to have to reach out to tech support each month to have them resolve. That back and forth with tech support usually takes a couple days ( since there is a really slow response time) to get resolved. I find I am using the app less since it’s so frustrating to have to do this every month and sometimes a couple times a month just to get access to the features I like and paid for, but only get to use a little bit.
And before the developer responds to this, yes I restored the purchase within the app, and yes I updated the app, and yes I logged out and logged back in, and no it’s still not showing my active subscription.
So in summary, great app love the features but a frustrating experience having to resolve the subscription issue Every month, sometimes multiple times within a month.

It’s not just an app for tracking scores
Anybody that wants to improve their game needs this app. It’s incredibly user friendly. You don’t have to enter shots during the round so it doesn’t distract you from your play. Turn it on and don’t touch it until after the round is over. It uses GPS to track shots and has a quick putt feature to easily capture scores. Finalizing shots after the round takes a couple of minutes, max.
Data analytics are great. You can see where you’re gaining/losing strokes to players of a similar handicap, club distances, dispersion patterns, and scoring “potential” using the 4 keys to golf. Take this information to the range to make yourself a better player.

Closing the app does not work, you literally have to delete the app on your phone to keep it from running, after every round. Update: The developer has fixed the issue. After the round when you Save and Exit it will now stop running on the Apple Watch. I’ve played on a few different courses, the gps is accurate, the data is trustworthy. Recommend hole by hole entry.

I got a deal for a year subscription to this app and decided to give it a try. I wanted to like it but it just is not as good as other apps like it. The course GPS is unreliable. The shot tracking is unreliable. The interface is unintuitive and clunky. The app just is not designed well compared to other golf apps out there.
Even worse is the predatory nature of their subscription model. They know they cannot retain customers through the quality of the app so they make it extremely difficult to cancel your subscription to try to con you into an unwanted annual subscription renewal. Customer service is useless and will not refund unwanted subscriptions because their whole business model is built on scamming unwanted subscriptions.
Bottom line: Do not use this app.

Extremely detailed and on the verge of addictive. Almost too much information but you can narrow down what you want to focus on and expand your exploration as you go. One thing that stunned me was that it apparently ties into weather info while you’re playing and will show you the wind speed and direction in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Not sure if that’s legal in some tournaments but I found that to be brilliant. Yardages displayed are extremely accurate and easy to manipulate.

Worst App I’ve Tried
I’m very tech savvy, so when beginning to golf I did lots of research on the best app to track my progress and stats. The V1 game app is by far the worst app I’ve tried. The user interface is so messy and confusing, the stats are only shown on a graph or pie chart, you can’t follow friends, no club averages, and worst of all the auto shot tracking function is horrible. My watch could only detect drives; and this was after tweaking the settings. I could go on but you get the gist; it’s not user friendly or put together well, doesn’t even function properly. Go with Golfshot, it was the best I tried. 18Birdies would be 2nd place, I wouldn’t even rank this V1 app, it’s not worth any money, not even $2!
