Xetnauq,
Extremely impressive program
Vida is extremely impressive. I didn’t think in the past that I could keep up any diet or exercise plan. Certainly never both at once. In the last 6 months I’ve not only lost 20 lb and gotten to my ideal weight, I’ve run a half marathon and started regular meditation. All these things have become a regular part of my life that I feel enthusiastic about continuing. I won’t credit them all to Vida. I started the running program beforehand. But where I think Vida has been enormously helpful is in guiding, monitoring, and suggesting tweaks, and having someone to talk with for support. That’s been helpful to give me the confidence that I can basically manage it myself.

Needs work: the food logging, an essential function, is very slow to respond and does not allow you to easily repeat meals, which makes it extremely painful in comparison to myfitnesspal. Now I just use myfitnesspal. The program itself has extensive information about diet relative to other sources but in my opinion very little about exercise or other topics.
not do fat,
My loss
I’ve been on Vida a few months, well how about 50 Pound loss? Better sleep, more energy, and $$$ saved!!
Support, nutritional information, counseling, and encouragement!
My dietitian has helped me do very significant changes to my eating habits.
A few weeks ago I saw my shadow as I was getting into my car… I just stood there admiring my curves, my waist line!!
It’s was so noticeable on that shadow on the ground!
My closet is getting smaller! All those 2x 1x are being replaced by Large clothes.
I’m almost 65 and for the first time I feel in total control of my weight!
And the $$$, well no more chocolate, and that’s a big savings! And fresh foods not processed, that’s a huge savings on my grocery bill!
Oh and my sugar!! It’s under control!!
I look so much better, I feel better, stronger, and I can walk away from carbs!
I can’t thank Vida, the counselors, the daily information, and logging my progress to my goal. Still have a ways to go, but I’m 2/3 of the way, and have total faith I’ll get there, the right way, with all my lifestyle changes and good eating habits, I’ll be set for further success!
Thank you so much!
Utterly flabbergasted,
Program great, app horrible
Im relatively new to the program, but my coach has been a great help so far. I thought she was going to be more of just a “cheerleader”, which so many of these programs are. I don’t need a cheerleader - I’ve been fairly self-motivated for a while now. I need to refine what I’ve been doing to make it more effective, and she’s been very helpful with that (as well as a cheerleader). I recommended the program to a co-worker because I think she’d benefit from it. So good on that front.

But what drives me to comment is the app. It’s little more than a conduit to communicate with your coach via text and video. Otherwise, it’s pretty useless. I’ll get pre-recorded messages when I hit my goals (which I just find annoying - thanks, I know I worked out today, like I’ve been doing most days for years). I used the space provided to record my weight, waist measurement, etc, for days, but when I look at “History” there’s nothing there, just what I’ve entered that day. Hopefully my coach can see a history so she can see how it’s going?

Anyway, horrible app plus decent coach averages out to a 2-3 star rating.
Crazy Vida App,
This app is frustrating
The food log tracking is very limited and I can’t find daily or previous running totals except for one nutrient. The answer from my Vida coach was that I should be able to. Not helpful at all.

The app changes so much from day to day I can’t easily track things. Example: One week I log exercise one way and then all of a sudden it looks different and I have to enter it on a never seen before screen and can’t see my previous exercise logs. Example: today for the first time my Today tab had buttons wanting me to track individual nutrients like sugar... Why?! Isn’t this why I’m entering food, so the app will automatically do it?! Example: on my daily tab I can no longer see which days (including today) my weight was logged. Now I can only enter a new weight manually.

I’ve had so many frustrations with this app I haven’t even mentioned! The only reason I still use it is because it hopefully will help my coach help me. But I wonder if the frustration out weighs that!
applemackerog,
Solid for 2+ years
This is a solid app. I’ve been using Vida here and there for the last couple years. When I started using it agin a few months ago, I was really impressed by how much they had continued to improve it. The food calculator is really cool and takes the obsessing out of calorie counting. Everything’s done in the app, like talking with your coach and completing tasks and assignments throughout the week. I log my food now every day, and I don’t think I would have made that daily change without Vida. I’m sleeping better than I was two years ago. I’m exercising more too. If you’re looking for improving your holistic health, this is a great option.
Ollie559,
Great Program with a Glitchy App 🙁
The app has great features that are not well supported by its programming. It stalls and freezes frequently. It’s a bit of a deterrent to logging entries. However, in a way, it tests my resolve to keep trying until my entries are logged. The program with the coach is truly helpful in setting and monitoring goals. My coach encourages me to move forward with actionable steps. The app provides many useful lessons. It does mislabel the duration though. A lesson might be tagged as two minutes but contain a nine-minute video. 🤷🏻‍♀️Still, I have hope that they will fix the technical bugs because it really is an effective approach.
lilisfrank,
Cut you off from your coach with no heads up!
Is it your policy to just cut someone from their coach without a proper heads up?! Very disappointing and unprofessional.

I have started with VIDA back in May2021. I was happy with my coach and yesterdayI had another session scheduled.I received a text the night before to confirm my appointment. Which I did.

Then my appointment time arrived and I noticed my coach is late for 2 minutes. She was always on time. Another 3 minutes passed by and I was thinking to myself: this is ok. She is most likely spending few more minutes with someone. I am happy she is helping and caring for someone else too. Let me review my thoughts that I want to share with her today while I am waiting. Another minuted passed by and I received a text message that your coach is no longer with VIDA. Alright now imagine what that does to you when you are dealing with stress and panic! What kind of health and wellbeing organisation does that?!? Without proper heads up! Without proper coach replacement? Today I realised that your organisation doesn’t understand the very basic concept of “caring”. People aren’t just app users! They are human beings with emotions.

Don’t ever cut someone from their support system like this!!! Implement a proper transitional steps! You don’t get it, do you?!
Skilled Fusion,
Best thing I did for myself
Vida gets you connected with a therapist of your choosing that you think best suits you. It’s is catered to you specifically allowing you to control when your meeting are and go at your own pace. For me this app was life changing and I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Update months later:
I cannot stress how much I needed this app my life hasn’t just been better I have had a complete 180 in mental health. I felt for a long time I had no control over all the bad things in life and with vida and especially my coach V she has given me the perspective I have been yearning for my entire life
Feistykitty,
Forced video interaction with coaches?
My company offers free access to this app as part of our benefits. I was interested to see what it could offer me, but as I was going through the initial setup, I reached a point where I had to choose from two options: weekly live video chats with a coach, or a group option which also appeared to require an initial video call with a coach. I don’t know if there would be subsequent forced interactions with the coach or group. (And I’ve read some things about the groups that make me want to avoid that option.)

As someone who is not neurotypical, I have severe anxiety around certain things, in particular “calls” - especially with strangers - and video calls? Even worse - I would like options that do not include that kind of interaction.

People who have disabilities or mental health/neurodivergent things should be able to access the same resources as everyone else, without being forced into interactions that make them uncomfortable.

If there were an option for text chat only with a coach, I probably would have continued with the setup.
Alero2012,
Vida app needs improvement
I have been using the vida app for a few weeks now and I’m very dissatisfied. The meal calorie calculator isn’t accurate and vida coaches suggest clients to use the Fitness Pal app instead for food log purposes. The connection through fitness pal is done via the Fitbit app (you can only imagine the pain of logging daily stuff into fitness pal, then syncing it to the Fitbit app to then have a most of the time manual sun with Vida). The 3 way sync isn’t automated most of the time and I have to sync manually. Vida only connects to Fitbit and not Apple Watch therefore you have to make some magic happen to use the Apple Watch instead of the provided and simple Fitbit Watch. In summary, I enjoy my coaching sessions but hate to use the application; it really needs to be improved or customer are set on a journey to manage 3 applications at a time. The process is a nightmare.
