Waterford Mentor–– the app to engage parents
Mentor is a new app that works alongside Waterford Early Learning. It allows parents to sync with a student account and see the student’s usage time and achievements in Waterford Early Learning to keep parents “in the know.”
Features:
Parents can see the amount of time their student spends in Waterford Early Learning. The app breaks down the usage time by subject area and shows parents whether the child is on track for the week.

Time management challenged,
Good
I like the ability to read messages on the app. As silly as it sounds, I would like to be able to have the ability for my child to do her learning from the app or an app through Waterford. Over the Holidays we would have been able to complete the work if there was an app. We tried on the web browser from my phone and it didn’t work. We had cellular but no internet. And bringing the computer wasn’t an option. Otherwise she is learning tons and is making wonderful progress! I would recommend the program to any parent with a Pre-K child or children.

Engaging little learners
With the pandemic my son was not able to go to preschool. Know that I was worried about his transition to Kindergarten. His daycare teacher told me about Upstart and I was curious to see if this was a good alternative. It was! My son has been so excited to get on the Upstart laptop and do his homework! He learns new things each day and the program goes through tests that help go over his problem areas. Our coach has also been very supportive and enthusiastic about his learning! Montiuna has been a great teacher to work with and I would recommend any preschool child to be introduced to Upstart before going to school.

Lag in updating, but overall great app
I love this app it does help me to know how well my daughter is doing online. She is super independent and this app allows me to give her some space but still see how she is doing. I love that it gives us emailed tips/suggestions to encourage and improve.
However, it takes awhile to fully update the info. For instance today she finished her requirement for the day and week and it still shows 4 out of 5 days of work done, a few hours after she finished.

Good app in my experience, which is small
I like the app a lot, but I don’t use it every day, and sometimes not even every week, simply because I don’t need to. If I needed more ideas for ways to support my child in his upstart journey, I would use it much more frequently.

Wow! Get this app ASAP!
The Waterford app has been an amazing portal for me to keep track of our daughter’s progress with the program. I also show her each of her achievements to create that feeling of ownership and pride. Download this as a companion to the program and stay engaged.

Monitoring Son’s Work
This app was a VITAL piece in ensuring that I was able to keep up and monitor my son’s work. Now I along with the teacher can keep track. Before this app, it was hard for me to gage of he had done the work. Now I can give him reminders and closely see how much time and what he is doing. This app is AMAZING!

Pretty good
Good information, but slow to show minutes used in app. It would be very helpful it minutes would be live in app. Having to quit out of the program and wait for the app to receive amount of minutes used is irritating.

Need an app for upstart
We’re on our third child with Upstart, and the program itself is great. However, we’ve learned that the assessments and activities are more accurate when our child is using an iPad because their skill level with a mouse is low. This works in a browser, but we’ve been asking about an app for years. PLEASE OFFER AN APP for the upstart program itself. Many parents/families would be able to be more consistent with the flexibility and functionality of an app.

Waterford - Good, the app, HORRIBLE
We like Waterford curriculum, but it is beyond me how this app could get released. It CONSTANTLY logs you out, then, it doesn’t remember your login info, or even give you a “remember me” selection. The app lags the child’s progress by several hours. So when your child asks “daddy am I done?” The answer will ALWAYS be “I don’t know.”
I called the IT team at Waterford, but they are less than interested in any improvements. So, yeah, Waterford has helped, but the app is useless and cannot be relied upon.

Not the actual program!
I installed without reading the description and was super bummed to realize this isn’t a way for my son to actually sign in for a session. Will delete this app because I can see the stats info in the program when I want to look it up. Hopefully a full app is in the works because that would be so fantastic.
