lyricyani,
Almost too good to believe.
This app has everything I was looking for in an app to track my workouts. It comes preloaded with a catalog of just about every exercise out there, and amazing customizations for extra exercises you wanna add.
I cannot believe that it's free. To the developer: please for the love of God, give app users a way to donate to the further development of this app. I appreciate that this app is free and know that there is a large community out there that would match your generosity.
Suggestions:
- A new category of exercises for stretching. I understand this may be a little off focus for this specific app, but I personally find myself wanting it because I do better with my pre and post workout stretches when I have a list of specific ones to follow.
- An option to input the user's weight, which could be calculated into the overall volume of the workout for body weight exercises. I'm not sure if that's how it works, but it's just a thought.
Katxosborn,
Great!
I have been looking for an app to log my workouts, and every time I’d find one I’d like, it would only let me log 2-3 workouts and then require I purchase the “full” version. I need more that 2-3 workouts logged, as do most people. I’m the type of person who I’m not gonna pay for an app when I can just track on my own. So when I found this app I was so pleased because there is no “full” version, and this does everything the other paid apps charge you for. I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now and it’s really simple to use and modify to fit your needs! Highly recommend to anyone who doesn’t want to pay for an app to track workouts!
Daniyal S. Aziz,
Needs more exercises added to choose from
This app is great, it makes it super simple and quick to log my workouts in between sets at the gym and it’s a very clean and simple appearance. I like that you can see your data in different ways and see different stats for each workout. My only issue with the app is that there are not enough exercise choices available. A lot of my exercises I do are not on the app so I have to find the “closest” type of exercise to it if at all possible. This app would be absolutely perfect in my opinion if a lot more exercises were added or if there was some option to search the exercise from the internet through the app or even add in exercises yourself so your workout tracking is more accurate
bbbanda,
Nice potential, but still needs work and exporting features
So far, this is my preferred lift log app, but I’m still searching for a better one. Logging is easy and there are a lot of features, but most are hidden and not always intuitive to activate, so some hints when you first start using it or clearer markers would improve this app. I like that you can add/edit historical workouts. As others have also experienced, this app lost some of my workouts and templates randomly. It hasn’t happened recently, but that is something that needs to be resolved asap. Finally, there needs to be the ability to export into a csv or excel file. If it can fix the data loss and add the ability to export, then no doubt I’d stick with this app.
juliannargp,
Mostly great
I really like the setup and features of this app. It’s easy to add exercises and it’s motivating to see your stats. There are two things I would want to see developed a bit for me to think this app was ideal. First, I wish I could add exercises and then choose what to superset. The setup right now doesn’t allow you to superset different variations of the same exercise, or if you change your mind about one of the exercises you have to go back and re add everything in order to superset them. Second, I wish when you opened an exercise it would show the weight you did for all of the sets last time you did it. If I do a burnout, right now the app will show my last used weight when I pull up that exercise again, and I have to search for what my actual max is in a normal set. Those changes would result in 5/5 stars from me.
Baileymt65,
Solid app with lots of options
Makes is easy to track, setup and keep a workout routine. There are a ton of exercises but it’s easy to add the ones I couldn’t find. The only thing I could even complain about is the template section. I wish there was a way to just create template. I’ve made the mistake of doing a workout and forgetting to hit the add template button.

I also might be missing it but it would be nice if there was an area where people could share QR routine codes. I know I have base workout but it’s always nice to see what other people put together.

Great app! Please keep up the great work.
Serious Vapor,
Simple and MOSTLY enough
I think that this app hits mostly everything that I am looking for. Simple, somewhat customizable for layout, clean UI. However, I still need to use more than one recording method to track my progress. That is why only 3 stars.

** I fully understand the app is called ‘Weightlifting’. Problem is my workout routine includes more than that. Aerobic exercises are in the line up to add to your templates but they do not provide real world end-user benefit.

I would really like aerobic activities to have more than 120 sec max. Why not have a user input field or common increments like the rest of the exercises? I’m referring to cycling mostly for myself but it applies to anything aerobic in the list of exercises. If these could have time and distance options it would be 5 star for me.
CamposIII,
What I was looking for!
This app is exactly what I was looking for in a workout app. I wanted an app where I could build my own plan, templates, share my workouts and most importantly track my progress without having to decide what body type I’m going for like on other apps that tell you what to do and most importantly this one is FREE! No saying, it’s free and then when you get into the app you have to subscribe! It is 100% Free and you get access to everything the app has to offer. Take your time and explore the app and once you get the hang of it, it will become part of every workout.
Mister Fanelle Dutchingshamen,
Better
Overall the app is solid, but there are two mistakes. First off, when I press “See More” on a chart, why does the app crash? This needs to be fixed. Secondly, the app needs to stop assuming that I’m recording my workouts as I do them. The app thinks I’m doing 7-minute workouts because I record each workout in that amount of time. You should be able to choose the date and time that each workout is logged in.
Everything else about the app is good though and I like using it. Once these two issues are fixed, I’ll give a five star rating.
Edit: Thanks for the feature implementation and the bug fix! 👍🏼
Vee S,
Almost Perfect
This app is pretty great, I finally found what I was looking for! While it’s not perfect, it does offer many of the features I’ve been looking for. Some of the downsides are that it seems that “achievements” cannot be disabled and default templates cannot be deleted. My suggestion is to please allow users to turn “achievements” on/off in the settings given that some users do not care for that feature and to make the default templates delete-able as some users do not want to use them.

Finally, I would love to see a version of this that would be compatible with the Apple Watch!
