Laddy2020,
Effective & Fun!
This is a very simple and effective app for all levels of bodyweight/calisthenics training offering everything from basic to advanced movements with descriptions. The app provides a list of movements and compiles them into various routines (with progressions). There is plenty of flexibility in regards to static/dynamic and strength/endurance based routines. The workouts are all fundamentally simple and can easily be tailored to fit the user’s specific needs. I’ve been doing at least one of these routines each day in some form or fashion over the past year and a half, and the results have been noticeable. Whether it’s a quick 5 minute routine each morning or a series of routines compiled into a longer session, you will get results and enjoy the process. Also, Al makes this app fun with his cartoon graphics and token words of encouragement. Great app. Highly recommend!
AlbertoVega,
I love the exercises
I love the exercise selection. I mix up the different workouts to keep it fun and give my body a break if needed. I also love that now it logs your workouts, no need for a notebook anymore which is great. I feel that the app needs more on programming, the new daily workouts exercises, well are self explanatory but for the rest of the categories it would be great to know how often should I be doing certain workouts to get best results and also be safe.

Great Job :)
puppet nonsense,
Excellent design with room for improvement
I was under the impression that this was a body weight workout app, so was a bit disappointed to find so many workouts required a bar. I have a pull-up bar for my door frame, but how am I going to do an Aussie pull-up?

I also feel like some of the workouts might not be totally appropriate for their skill level, and a bit dangerous. For instance “static zero” is a beginner workout, yet if done for the 3-5 recommended rounds, it would mean being on your wrists for 3.5 to almost 6 minutes total. Yikes.

A path to follow, or some sort of guidance would be nice. I agree with another reviewer who said it feels like picking stuff at random. Add to that the bar issue, and I feel like there’s not actually much content that I can pick from.

The design is excellent, as is the animation. You can tell a lot of work was put into making this, and despite my critiques above, I think it is a really great workout app. That said, it should emphasize the necessity of being outside at a park, or the need for bar equipment.

RESPONSE: Very good point, bar work IS body weight. I’d just suggest rewording the “...workout you can do anywhere” then, as it implies no equipment.
PackerOwner,
Good app, lots of workouts
I’m enjoying the app. I like the animations used to explain an exercise. WAY better than other workout apps where you have to wait for a video to load. The only thing I wish this app had, is a little more guidance. It’s more of a “pick a random workout” than an actual routine. Still, all-in-all a very well put together workout app.
0shea0,
Nice one.
Real close to what I’ve been looking for. The progression through the workouts is good with built in timers and the cartoon demo guy. Some kind of progress map would be a good addition to direct me from one workout to the next. Something that shows your gains and the steps you took (or should take) to get there. As a beginner I feel like I’m just picking random workouts with no guidance really. But I do love the format! Way better than apps that use a video of some guy talking.
Joequatch,
Get started… again and again. 💪
I’ve had this app off and on now for years. No subscription ❤️, most exercises need no equipment, and others can be modified or done with very minimal equipment, and their are options for everyone. Very un-intimidating and fun way to start working out. I’m surprised this app is not more popular.
Blash97,
Hands down best on the market!
As an ex gymnast and instructor I am well versed in body weight exercises and this collection of exercises and progressions are fantastic and well thought through. The app is very very user friendly and easy to move through. It’s also excellent in providing examples and proof that equipment isn’t always a MUST. I’ll use this for years to come I love it!
Jasyoung277,
Great app
I love the bodyweight workouts. It’s helpful since I am on the road a lot. I picked up the book “Get Strong” as well as some of the other Kavadlo books (both Al and Danny). They are all great. Has there been any consideration about including the full “Get Strong” programming on the app? That would be great for keeping track of the progress when doing the 16 week program.
Jusplayinmybass,
Great app. Missing one thing
I love this app. It provides challenging workouts that are fun and progressive. It is missing one feature that would get 5 stars from me. If you could put several workouts in almost a playlist. Allowing the option to put a minute or 2 in between the workouts would be even better so I can jump rope in between the workouts. Keep up the great work.
hewittaj,
Hasn’t been updated in two years.
This app seems to be great in content but not product support with over 2 years since the last update. It’s my bad for not reading the App Store better. Also, no way to turn off sound during a workout meaning you can’t listen to music or podcasts at the same time because you hear “Hey hey hey” every few seconds. If they could implement a mute feature that would be spectacular, but with no updates in 2 years it probably won’t happen..
