I really like this game, incredible course designs and very pretty overall, this will keep you entertained for hours. However, playing the game itself is…frustrating. Getting a good score is purely luck based, I’ve had this game for maybe a year and I only have three out of the fifteen possible collectibles, after countless attempts. The relic levels are straight up impossible. Whoever tested this game and said “yeah, the average mobile phone user can score this high,” I want to shake their hand and then step on their toes.

TLDR, very fun game but might make you throw your phone across the room.

While the level design and animations are well done and often brilliant at times, the gameplay is often frustrating and downright terrible. The golf mechanics are loose and hard to understand. Parts of the courses are hard to see and often the ball is lost behind parts of the courses. Often, the user has no idea what to do or where to go (I assume this on purpose by the designers) and there is no walkthru on certain mechanics until you come across them in game. Making mistakes in other games isn’t as detrimental as this game with no obvious way to restart individual courses. The angle the courses are at is often blocking important parts of the course leading to more frustration. Overall, great world, good animations but poor gameplay and lousy mechanics make for an overall bad experience. Sadly, because of this game, my first foray into Netflix games will be my last.

It’s odd to me that the game developers chose golf rules for an exploratory game like this. You simply cannot get par most of the time because you have no idea how a certain mechanic will behave, or because a shot needs to be precise but is impossible in the current constraints. The backgrounds and so on are very cool and the new mechanics are interesting, but having a par is unwelcome when you sometimes get an albatross and other times get +35 bogeys. It’s essentially random chance, not skill, which is an antithetical experience for a par-based game IMO.

A poor attempt to make a splash on the game market leaves much to be desired. Netflix focused so much on the aesthetics they forgot to make a playable game. Absolutely no instructions at the start of the game, frustrating game physics leaves you repeating the same shot over and over again. The background of the game is gorgeous but there is so much going on you can’t even figure out where the hole is you are supposed to be aiming for. Not worth the time to figure out the minutiae of the controls. If you are looking for a good way to burn an hour with Netflix, stick with an episode of Stranger Things, this app isn’t worth the time.

This game is not for everyone and probably not for most golf game enthusiasts, but it’s uniqueness has to be applauded . Its oddballness makes its original and non cliche. It’s a golf game that plays by its own rules in its own weird little unapologetic universe .I applaud the team that worked on this and I see a lot of heart and original creativity was used here. It’s not unnoticed by my eyes! Not everyone is going to get this game but it definitely deserves good reviews

It's a great game. I've really been enjoying it.
But it's starting to get to the point of boredom repetitiveness. Now I'm just playing the same courses over and over, unlocking items and achievements. Items that I'm unlocking just to use on the same courses over and again.
I really love the design and imagination in the game. And It is a lot of fun to go through all the holes and to watch the changes of the course. It's really cool.
I would like to see new courses made with this same imagination and design.
The trips are really fun too. But I've played through all the trips. Sooner new trips would be awesome.
I like this putting game. It's a lot of fun. I just want more new stuff to play cos it's amazing. With all the course transformations. It's great imagination.

I love the artwork and music—it's got a definite Monument Valley vibe to it. That's a genuine compliment and not an accusation of unoriginality as I absolute love the Monument Valley games.

I don't often write reviews, but I felt I had to after I took notice of one often overlooked quality—when a game's coding is so efficient, that it goes unnoticed. I'm playing on a phone that is now 4 generations old and will be replaced next week due to a severely degraded battery.

After playing for probably an hour this morning, I notice that it's not drained nearly as much of my battery as I expected. The game is smooth and and seems pretty lightweight. Kudos to the developer team.

I would love to see more though. Hope they update with additional content.

The level designs and animations are super entertaining. Figuring out the mechanics of each level is a blast. Really loving this game. It’s a welcome surprise from Netflix.

I would also like to take this opportunity to rate the critics: zero stars. You clearly have problem with using your mind. That’s a shame.

Yes some of the courses are a pain, but don’t play for the score. I played for the unfolding and mind bending silent narrative. I am not disappointed.

This is very similar in spirit to the ‘wild hearts’ Apple Arcade game. Play the entire first world and see how you feel.

Love the game. Thought geometry trips 3 and 4 were too hard until I saw a walkthrough online. Now I’ve been able to finish trips 3 and 4 several times. There’s a flaw in trip 4. It says there are 20 hidden collectibles, however there are only 19. How do I know? Because since I got 19, I’ve played it through 4 more times from hole 1 to hole 100 looking for that elusive 20th hidden collectible. It’s not there. Please fix this.
