J. Leo Han,
Very Pleasant Surprise with my Runkeeper Subscription
I was pleasantly surprised by this app- seems to be included as part of my runkeeper subscription. My gym closed until further notice and this has been an absolute bombshell! Quick workouts, easy to do at home, I find myself working out multiple times a day! Going back to the gym now would be an increase of time and cost to actually decrease my exercise habits. The app isn’t perfect, for example if you leave a workout before it’s it will not save your progress and you have to start it over. So before you start a workout make sure you preview and understand all of the exercises and have set aside the necessary time and equipment to finish.
Chilly f,
Good to break up treadmill boredom
I’ve only used treadmill workouts. I’m in a trial period from Runkeeper so I don’t know what this will cost but it is a very good way to get through treadmill workouts. Upbeat instructors; lots of changes in hills and speed to break up the boredom and good music.

Three suggestions to make it even better: 1. Allow the user to enter miles at the end for each treadmill workout so you can track improvement on the same workout over time (maybe tie to runkeeper account); 2. Provide some type of utility where the user can enter some data (previous race result, average mile pace, data from runkeeper activities, etc) and have the utility give some ideas as to what speeds 60%, 70%, etc might be- that’s frequently referenced by the instructor but I have no idea what my target is for those numbers; 3. Keep the tunes playing after the workout-I frequently want to workout longer than the set workout time and it would be nice if the music played until the user pressed “done” on the workout summary screen.
puzzleddar,
Really good but needs some tweaks!
App works really well, but it could use some tweaks that would make it even better. I like to watch shows or movies when I work out, so I like that you can disable the music and that it shows you what the next interval or step is. I don’t like that it still shows what you had completed and not the next several steps so you can be prepared for the next sprint or interval. It would be really helpful if when looking for a workout the summary of each workout and a incline and speed graph or summary was present. I also don’t like that the core/weight workouts assume that you know the “move” and that there is no summary of technique or video demonstrating what you should be doing. Overall, I really like the app. I like that they have some workouts that mix the cardio and core/strength workouts. I wish you could customize what you wanted to do for each workout and it would put something together for you.
Scichick,
Great workout app but could use improvements
This app has made running on the dreadmill more enjoyable and also has improved my speed workouts. The music choices are great and instructors are very motivating. I also like that it gives you stretching options is you take the time to keep from getting injured. A few things that could be improved:
- I wish the running workouts would automatically sync to Runkeeper so I didn’t have to remember to add them manually
-There are no cool down periods on running workouts. This should be added.
- 30 sec sprints on a treadmill is asking to get injured. These should be min 45 seconds to allow for ramp up and down
- would like to be able to preview the workout before starting it, especially sprint workouts so you can plan for ramp up and down and also to plan for dress and equipment
PBFrench,
Reconciled me with the treadmill
This app has managed to reconcile me with both the treadmill and shorter workouts. Instead of waiting until I have a full hour in front of me to go to the gym to then just coast through a workout, I can now use this app, even at home, even with just a yoga mat, even when I only have 15-20 minutes, and get a great workout in (with soreness the next day to prove to myself I don't work that hard on my own!). Love the instructors that help you stay engaged, love that you can use this anywhere, love the wide variety of workouts available, this is a really cool app all around.
clown12,
Pretty cool app
I keep trying workout apps and being disappointed but this one was a pleasant surprise. There are a lot of different ones to choose from so I haven’t gotten bored yet. (Pro tip, there are free workouts available- you can try them first which is what I did before I decided to pay.) I love going to my live barre and bootcamp classes, but this is a good way to get an extra workout in when I don’t feel like paying $30 a pop. The workouts seem to be quick but pretty difficult. I definitely think it’s worth the $10 a month.
Steiny357,
Best variety and push
I started using this when the pandemic hit. I don’t like long stretches of running, and most of the classes use an interval approach to running. The coaches know exactly when to put in verbal pushes! I’ve lost 10 pounds in 6 months using this app.

The only thing that would make it better would be if when I click on a class, the app showed the dates I last used that class.
carrieabanner,
This app got me to workout
I kept struggling with the motivation to go to the gym. Now with this app it doesn’t feel like a herd commitment and I actually love picking out my next workout towards the end of my work day before I go workout. The only thing is I wish it was easier to look up workouts based on the main part it worked out. Because someday I want more upper body and some days more core or lower. The app is amazing but just a suggestion.
RaiderGirl03,
Almost great
1.) if you switch to something else during the routine (say, for example, to send a text or an email), the app resets to the homesceeen and you lose YOUR ENTIRE WORKOUT and have to start over. Not cool
2.) I know it says you can switch to your own music during a workout by tapping the speaker/music icon during the program, but that doesn’t work. So you’re stuck with what’s selected or silence in the background.
Almost there. Not quite though. Still a good mix of routines and styles. I’ll keep using it.
ghostgurl91,
From fat fam to fit fam
Two weeks using this app and I’m already seeing noticeable results! The workouts are perfect for when you’re in a time pinch and need to sneak a workout in at home. I am addicted and can’t wait to see more results. The videos in the app are so helpful when I’m not sure how to do an exercise and the trainers are entertaining & motivating. Highly recommend for anyone who wants an app that is easy to use both at home and at the gym. #fitfam
