Ctmink,
iOS issues
Upon purchasing our new blood pressure monitor, both my husband and I were excited to use the sync feature and no longer have to write it down.

My husbands Samsung phone worked flawlessly, however my Apple 7 plus did not. The monitor would freeze whenever I tried to sync.

I emailed the support email for help. Enter Matt. He tried everything that he could think of to fix my issue, but to no avail. We finally left it that they would work on this issue and that he would personally let me know when the issue was resolved.

I have been very lax in reading my personal email since before Thanksgiving. Today while cleaning out my email box, I found an email that he wrote to me
Almost 2 months ago, telling me that the issue was corrected!!! I immediately went to the App Store to make sure I had the latest BP Health and when I got home, I took my blood pressure..... IT SYNCED!!!!!!
I was in tech support almost my entire working career and it is very difficult in this day and age to find good and caring support people. Matt is one of the GOOD ONES!! Anyone that has worked with software knows that bugs happen— even the best have issues at times. But I can’t say enough good about his service.
This an awesome app and I highly recommend using it!! It gets an A++++++++++ in my book!
TheTrueAnt,
Did they give this Dev to the interns?
I was excited for the new BP cuff and app. It takes readings and syncs well, albeit very confusing on the order of operations with how to take and sync readings at first. I am rather tech savvy, so I feel bad for a novice.

However that’s where any ease of use or features end. If you try and add a note on a reading, the keyboard will not minimize so you can tap the “save” button at the bottom. I was able to select the text and copy, because I didn’t want to retype the note repeatedly when experimenting with workarounds to save the note, and that action accidentally dropped the keyboard down when tapping “copy”.

The reminders can only be used if you have a lot of time to guess at what you are tapping on since times are only chosen from a selector which is completely blank. I mean it works mechanically in as much as letting you select A time, but the digits are invisible so you don’t know WHICH times are being selected until you hit confirm. So you have to cancel and try again, or just give up and use another app.

Finally, since I gave up trying to use any other features, the help button has no feedback feature to let them know their app is broken, so I have to leave a review in an attempt to communicate their failure, this amplifying the fail.

Use another app / cuff if you want features. If you just want to sync and record readings, sure it’s ok.
WM Houston,
Does not sort correctly by time, does not correctly handle CSV export of comments
This app does basically what I need it to do, but it does not show my data in chronological order. For example, it jumps around from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am and then to 1:00 pm, for readings within one calendar date. It seems to be sometimes mixing up the time readings were imported to the phone with the date/time of the actual readings on the BP device.

Secondly, the “export” option will create invalid data files if you have commas in your “comments”. I use comments to record, for example, “after brisk walk, 1.25 miles, 93F”. CSV means “comma-separated values.” The CSV file will not be read correctly in other apps (like Excel) because using commas within a field (without proper handling) makes it non-compliant.

It would make sense to prevent commas from being used in comments.

Synchronization works fine for me and my iPhone 13 Pro Max.

I appreciate Walgreens creating a basic app that does not try to show you commercials, push other products, etc.

The hardware is great. It seems to be correctly identifying irregular heart rhythm. This is extremely important for my health.
YourFriend73,
Terrible App
Incredibly non-intuitive. Also, there are so many issues with no way to recover if you click a wrong button...except to completely uninstall the app and start over. For example:

1). If you have lots of readings stored in the memory of your monitor, you will be asked to upload those to Walgreens during the app setup process on your phone. You are warned that all readings uploaded will be there forever and you won’t be able to delete them. I’ve had multiple family members using this monitor and I didn’t want to upload the readings from memory. Unfortunately, the app doesn’t give you an option to delete existing memory and start fresh. It doesn’t give you an option to go “back”. You are stuck on the screen. The only way to get out of this screen is to delete the app. Then you can do a reset on your device. Then reinstall the app and go through the process again. This is just dumb.

2). If you accidentally choose the wrong model of monitor, you will have to delete the app and go through all setup steps again. If you get into account settings and switch to the correct model number, it will save that setting but the app will never connect with the monitor device no matter what you do. Again. Very clunky and non intuitive.

I’m in the process of installing the app for the third time. Very frustrating.
Applehead26,
Please make graphs expand to show readings over a longer period of time
It would be very helpful to see how my blood pressure readings change over time, on a graph. This at-a-glance view could work wonders for understanding one’s biometric health as it evolves over time.

Please make this change - then the app would earn 5 stars on my opinion. It will help my health care providers see a more complete picture of my heart health (including detecting issues) if I had a longer/historical view of blood pressure data entries, in graphical format.

Thank you for creating this app! I love the Bluetooth feature and that the readings are in one convenient app.
cecilseessissy,
Terrible app for an awful machine
I’ve had the associated bp monitor since late Jan 2023. App & monitor worked pretty reliably until Apr 15, 2023. Up to then, I’d have a few misses/syncing issues each month. After that date in April, no syncing & error messages with every use. I’ve spent hours trying to remedy - changed batteries, offloaded/reloaded app, played endlessly turning Bluetooth on and off both on device and my phone. There are never any updates to app. To make it even more frustrating, I now get multiple error messages when I use the monitor. Always the Bluetooth connection error, and intermittently every other error possible. I paid $100 for this device and need to use it 4x/day in course of care for elderly parents. It’s a joke - don’t waste your money.
Juli's Woolys,
It’s great… when it works
The reason I bought this BP machine was for its ability to sync the results to my phone. When it connects, it is great, BUT every week or two I have to delete the app and reload. It randomly decides to just refuse to sync. I would hate to be an older person trying to deal with such a finicky product. I have downloaded it so many times since December, I know the pattern of where the buttons are to touch for the app setup. I think I could do it with my eyes closed. For the amount of money spent to purchase the machine, I would expect a more stable interface.
iPhone 8+
RevSue,
Lousy app
This is the most frustrating app I have used in a while It seems to decide on its own if it will synch. 50% of the times it takes multiple tries (5-9) with my Apple. Other times not at all. This morning after many tries it synched but before I could approve reading it disappeared. Of course no option to resynchronize. And most aggravating, when I manually enter times in AM, it orders them so a reading at 12:13 AM comes AFTER one at 9:43 AM. No recognition that to come after, it would have to be PM. Finally—when manually entering, the only way to save is with big red button hidden by keyboard. I have found a workaround if I'm quick enough, but button should be on top!
JLGW,
Infuriating
This is the most frustrating app. It worked fine for a few days and then it went downhill. In the past two days, I’ve deleted and downloaded the app 4 times. It’s the only way to resolve the syncing issue that the update allegedly fixes. The screen just sticks there and doesn’t allow you to move on and save the reading to the user profile. It opens to the same stuck screen if close it out and reopen. Want to guess what my blood pressure is like after fighting with this app? I’m reviewing this app anywhere that will let me. The monitor (with all its “extras”) isn’t worth the price if the app doesn’t work. Please do better.
Mick P,
If only it was reliable
If this app didn’t crash when trying to retrieve data from the meter, or fail to connect to the meter, I would give it 5 stars.
Killing the app and restarting it (swipe up from the bottom and swipe the app off the screen) doesn’t always “fix” the problem. Sometimes you have to “don’t save” readings that it finally retrieves.
Adding manual entries is klugey as well. Sometimes buttons work and sometimes not.
Maybe Walgreens should have hired a real development team instead of making it some high school kid’s science project.
If it worked, it would be an easy and useful tool. If it worked.
