#6331,
Equate BP App
The monitor App syncs to the monitor thru Bluetooth automatically. The screen is large and readable. It also talks you thru the proper placement of the cuff. It has the capacity to retain two people’s readings. It’s nice to have handy when I go to the doctor.

This was a GREAT Christmas gift as it is easy to operate whereas my old was was somewhat difficult and did not sync to an App. Also, the Equate monitor sync beautifully with my watch.

Thank you for making a good product for home use.
Pandab87,
Loses Bluetooth connectivity frequently…
Every time my iPhone iOS updates my Equate 8000 Series BP monitor loses Bluetooth connectivity to the Equate Heart Health app. I try everything to get it to connect again and the only thing that works is to remove the batteries and have to reprogram the date/time, etc as if starting from fresh. This is very frustrating as I lose some of my readings and my average is not accurate because of the lost readings that won’t go over to the app from the monitor. I know that cell phones OS are updated frequently and this has to be a bug in the Equate Heart Health app since it only loses Bluetooth connectivity when my iOS is updated. Other than the Bluetooth glitch, the monitor works very well and is very accurate (have checked iit with my cardiologist’s readings). Too bad my rating is much lower due to this glitch.
Delectation,
Hmm.
Very pleased that the Equate cuff reasonably matched the monitor at the doctors office. The nurse took my pressure several times alternating with the facility’s cuff and my cuff. Very pleased with the accuracy. My concern is logging the notes into the app (using an iPhone). I’m unable to see the notes as I type. The keyboard covers the notes and I’m not able to scroll up to continue typing. Instead of being able to click a close keyboard button, I have to click on other data on the screen hoping it would trigger the keyboard to close. When I start to type again, the problem with the keyboard returns. It would be very helpful if the screen would rotate so that I’m able to see a longer sentence(s) of what I’ve typed in notes without having to scroll.
Rehundl,
So far so good
I am new to blood monitoring. I wanted something I could connect to my phone to keep track of my data. This was very easy to set up and use. I was also concerned about the cuff fitting around my arm as I am 6’ 4” 260 lbs. it fits fine.
I like that it talks to me and tells me what to do and tells me the results. I also like that I can turn that feature off which I probably will after I have used it for a while.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was that I have only used it 5 times and one of those times I had problems with it syncing to my phone to transmit data. I was able to easily put the data in manually. The next time I used it it transmitted both readings.
Frustraited in the US,
Bluetooth doesn’t work
I spent about $30 extra on this unit just because it had Bluetooth and was supposed to link up with my iPhone. It did it exactly once and it changed the date appropriately .Since then, I get a communication error every single time. I returned my unit and got a new one, same problem. Except now it could be because it’s synced with the old one and there’s no way to cancel that and re-sync with the new one. No way to delete the app courtesy of Apple. So that’s more on Apple then on this. I’m going to have to return it and buy the cheaper one because this is pointless. I will be going back to Samsung on my next phone purchased too.
GrannaConna,
Cuff good. App not so much
BP cuff accurate. Screen easy to read. Good to be able to turn off announcements. 2 profiles available.
App 😕 Regardless whether you are on the correct user on the monitor...you have to be signed in as the correct user BEFORE you take a reading. Not a problem if I were the only person taking my mother-in-law’s BP. But if my husband takes her BP and my user profile is still up on my app when he takes it then her reading goes on my record. No way to take the reading off or move it to a different user.
BIG FLAW
I understand why the can’t allow you to completely remove data but the app could be more accommodating
Donna1952,
Best BP APP
I bought the Equate blood pressure monitor due to my blood pressure going critical and my
Doctor wanting me to take it every day. I have been going to him and cardiologist every two weeks for two months. They like this app also because I can show them exactly what my readings are because it is so easy to sync with phone. It gives me a report and is very thorough. So glad I bought it!
Bubbles_1000,
Overall great. One suggestion.
I Like the Bluetooth. (I wish Glooko had that so you didn’t have to sync every time you wanted your blood sugar numbers uploaded.)

I do wish there was a way to link to MyChart so my doctor could see my blood pressure readings. Also, adding an upgrade that includes a pulse/oxygen sensor would make this amazing.

I LOVE the fact it can store readings for my wife and I.
Fototico,
Hmm
How in the world do you delete entries? It seems that there is no way to delete manual entries or to modify them. WTH!

I entered two entries for a few days prior. With the date and time for the day I wanted, but when the app sync’ed the data to Apple Health, in Apple Health it shows the entries as if they were todays’ (Oct 28th) and not a few days back. They were for October 24th.

Here is what happened. When I looked at the log in the app it only showed me entries dating back to Oct 25th. Even though the device had readings going back to the Oct 24th and I had selected for the app to show me all readings for the past month. So I entered two entries for Oct 24th manually. Once I entered them manually the app started to show me the entries synced from the device on the 24th. WTH!

I tried to delete the entries I’d entered manually and the app won’t let me. Why the in the world does it not allow me to enter an entry, specially a manual one is beyond me.
MzLory,
Error syncing
I have to rate 2 stars because this app regularly gives an error syncing for no reason. The app crashes a lot too. I have to close and go back in several times or restart my phone. My phone is updated to the latest software and so is the app. Now recently, after this stupid app not syncing I tried to enter reading manually but It will not let me at all. I enter the date and time but when I click confirm it doesn’t do anything. So annoyed with this app.
