Georgie Higgins,
Amazing Resource for Musicians
This app is wonderful. I don't normally leave ratings, let alone reviews. I'm a jazz pianist about to begin my bachelor's degree in performance, and since I began playing jazz, I've wanted to have really great ears, so I can understand everything on recordings and be more involved when playing with other musicians. I downloaded this app a little over a year ago, and it's been an immensely helpful supplement in my development. I've been trying to get all three stars and be one of the top users on the leader board on as many of the challenges as possible, and trying to do that has really forced me to build new ways to think about music in my mind. It absolutely blows my mind that I didn't have to pay for this app.
Chai Maya,
Piano teacher recommends, but fix melodic minor please!
I’m a classically trained piano teacher, I love using this app to improve my own ear and I plan to recommend it to students. I especially appreciate the algorithm which picks up on your weaker points, and gives you opportunities for dialed-in practice where it can tell you’re struggling with a specific concept.

Would give five stars if not for an error in how the app handles melodic minor scales. It plays the descending scale identically to the ascending and it expects you to do the same. ...The correct way to play a descending melodic minor scale is to flatten the 6th and 7th so you’re just playing a natural minor, but the app will ding your score if you actually play it properly - it wants to train you to play the sharp 6 and 7 on the way down as well as up, which is incorrect!

Devs, please let me know if you see this and fix the issue in your otherwise incredible/fun/useful app, and I will add the 5th star posthaste :)
jaekelmatt,
Amazing!!! Best ear trainer ever 👏🏽
Ive used so many ear training apps over the 10 years of my musical journey, and this is by far the most interesting, and fun experience ever!! The fact that you figure out REAL MELODIES and a ton of amazing and useful musical concepts on a guitars fingerboard transforms what was previously thought of as ear training, into something thats actually applicable right off the bat. Thank you devs! I am looking forward to the apps expansion, and could only hope that one day you can create a community on that platform so we can make our own challenges with your ui. But even if you dont, this reigns supreme!

Very nice
The app does a good job presenting standard ear training like intervals, chords, etc. But what I really like most is that this is one of the only apps I know of that has so many melodic exercises using actual examples from songs and pieces, not just randomly generated patterns from various scales. This really helps the ear learn sounds and patterns in typical contexts and has helped me a lot with my transcribing even unrelated tunes. I particularly like all of the Bach and the Charlie Parker tunes. Something like this would be a great way to learn jazz (esp. bebop) licks and internalize bebop language. I hope more of these can continue to be added.
Tex mcdougall,
My new one-stop shop for ear training!
I teach private music lessons to a diverse client base, and this is going to be my new #1 ear training app recommendation. I just love how it breaks down different options and makes targeted drills easy to find for each learner. I’m sure I will be able to help many different people solve their ear training problems to advance toward their goals with this awesome app. And it works elegantly and looks great. Don’t change a thing!

Too Predictable
Ive enjoyed the app and it is definitely helpful and easy to use. However, i ran into a rather disappointing bug in the game. In the “intervals” games there are typically 2 options (minor, major). I’ve noticed that the answers are a predictable pattern in which the answer just alternates between major and minor every turn. If the answer to question 1 is major then 2 will be minor, 3 is major, 4 is minor and so on. It can be possible to ignore this fact but sometimes it’s just too obvious and takes away from the challenge and learning process of the game. I can imagine this should be able to be fixed.
Stadler9,
Awesome Ear Training App
I’ve been using Chet for the last year and it has significantly improved the way I hear music. I love that it puts ear training in a real music context and also has all the normal ear training exercises you find in applications, like MacGamut. But the progressive learning path and spaced repetition really gives you a methodical way to train while reinforcing what you’ve learned. 5 stars.
Freeawesomegamesddd,
The best app for Any Musician!
I am a self taught musician, and I truly appreciate that this amazing tool is free for anyone to use! I have only used it for a few hours and I have already improved so much in my ear training for scales and much more. This is a musician must have for any level!

Thank you so much for making this app free again, i really appreciate it :)
orlandogrodriguez,
The best ear training method out there.
I gotta say, this is an incredible app. I’m surprised there aren’t that many users, but it’s super stable, and I’m enjoying it so much. I have already achieved all the stars in the beginner section and I’m now half-way done with the chords section.

I use the app every morning and every evening, on my commute to work and I have definitely noticed my ears getting so much better.

And THANK YOU for no ads. I hope it stays this way.

I would love it if there was a plain piano feature. I have a separate piano app, but I would definitely get rid of it if a piano section with no objectives would be included.

I will definitely share this app with my musical friends.

Best Ear Training App
This is by far the best ear training app that I’ve used. I’ve tried many and none come close to this one. It gives you many practical uses. The exercises are fun to do. Also it does a great job keeping track of your progress. If you’re looking to train your ears then this app is what you’re looking for
