I LOVE THIS APP!

I love this app because it connects to your toothbrush and let you know what you’re doing wrong and how to fix it. When brushing they first test to see how you brush and you have the option to do a guided brushing. I like to do the guided brushing because it shows me which parts I need to work on and it guides you on which part to brush at and how to do it. It’ll let you know if you’re brushing in the wrong area and how to tell your brush. If you get tasks done and brush it you will receive smile points. With the smile points, once you get to a certain amount, you are able to get a product for free. It also journals when you are brushing and at what time. You can also set goals for yourself to try to try to brush more often. They also ask you a daily question that you can also receive points on for answering. There many different ways that you can receive points. I’m getting points roughy now for just writing this review. You can also connect the app with your Apple Watch. They have different tasks that you can complete to earn points. You can also share your progress with your friends. They will let you know how you’re doing on angling your toothbrush and your progress and spots that you’ve made. I think that it is a really great app that helps you track your brushing and making sure that you are doing it the right way. They can also notify you whenever you want them to to remind you to brush. Overall I think it’s an amazing app.

Best Budget Smart Toothbrush

Writing this review after a few days of use. This brush is pretty cool. I’ve always wanted to get smart brush, but they’re expensive. This brush hits the sweet spot in price and I was lucky enough to get it for 50% off on Black Friday at Bed Bath.
The app is great. Didn’t encounter bugs and setup was pretty easy. Using the guided brushing has helped me as I can keep track of areas. This has made me realize I’m an awful brusher even though the dentist says I’m a good one. I’m just lucky to have good genetics. My teeth feel very clean! The tracking is pretty good but sometimes the angle doesn’t register with the accelerometer and the area gets counted as a miss. But for the most part it’s pretty accurate. I’m gonna get a Pop-Socket adhesive mount for my mirror to mount my phone to keep my head up for guided brushing. Idk if I can add a second brush, but I may have to get the battery powered brush for brushing at work. I like that it works with HealthKit. I like looking at my data. The point system is pretty cool. Each point is a cent. Doing the math, you would need to brush 1.5 times a day to get one free brush head pack per year. We’ll see how long these heads last. Idk why but you can use points for a new toothbrush, but that would take 5 years if you brushed twice a day. There’s challenges though that earn 50 cents and maybe new challenges will come up later to speed up those 5 years, haha.

Pretty cool

I enjoy all the challenges. Kinda makes things fun I guess. What I really think is cool is how it detects and corrects the way you angle the toothbrush so you brush properly. I find myself zoning out most times while brushing and I always have to go back and rebrush certain areas cause of not totally paying attention. This app has changed that for me. It may seem silly that a grown adult needs a visual to brush their teeth, but when you have a insanely busy life like mine, it’s those little things that you learn to appreciate. It shows you an image of a mouth and it guides you in brushing so you don’t forget any areas…like the insides or whatever. But what’s cool is that even though it has its regular routine to teach you, it will change and follow where YOU move the toothbrush. Literally will show you on the screen with different colors and shading, where EXACTLY you are in your mouth. You can also input a bunch of info and they’ll work out a brushing program for you. You can put reminders in for dental appointments and also put in daily alerts for brushing reminders. You have to actually see to understand. All in all, I really like it and I’m actually getting the brushes for my older three kids. My youngest already has the kids hum with AR…which is really cool too. I would def recommend this to everyone.

I’m impressed

It works really good, it has a better impact on my gums because right now there kinda lifted. It could probably clean my teeth a little bit better but I have to the extra work for that. But over all it cleaned pretty good. Now the back of the tooth brush is used for your tongue, but I use the bristles because the back doesn’t work barley at all. But the bristles work good for it. Waitttttt, I just now realized that I had it on the low mode the whole time. I should probably turn it on that instead. But one thing I should probably invest in is a tongue cleaning thing because i don’t know if it’s best for the bristles for cleaning my tongue. You should totally buy this. I asked for this for my birthday and I remember getting Brushing my teeth with it that night. I was amazed. With the app that comes with it, it makes me more exited to brush my teeth. And idk if I mentioned this but I really like how it cleans my tongue. KIDS- MAKE SURE YOU GO TO THE TOP OF YOUR TOOTH AND THEN BRUSH DOWN. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS BRUSH FOR 5 MINUTES. AND BRUSH YOUR TONGUE. ALSO FLOSS YPUR TEETH. IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE AND IT WILL HELP YOU WITH YOUR BAD BREATH( BRUSHING YOUR TONGUE IS VERY CRUCIAL FOR THIS TO. ) moral of the story guys please take care of your teeth cause you only get a limited amount of teeth. Humdinger of a toothbrush

I just got braces, so with the increasingly frequent dentist visits, I’ve been extra conscious of my dental health. Until I got Hum, I only used non electric toothbrushes. There was just something about electric toothbrushes that didn’t work for me, and the cheap ones I got always got waterlogged and died, so I figured they weren’t for me. While listening to a podcast, I heard an ad for Quip. It sounded interesting, but I wanted to do my research and look into other options before I committed. While looking up other electric toothbrushes, the Hum website popped up and after reading reviews and comparisons, it seemed like Hum was gonna work best for me. After about a week of use, I am totally impressed with Hum !! My teeth feel exponentially cleaner, and with the guided brushing I feel like I’m learning to get more of the hard to reach areas. The smaller brush head has been a lifesaver for my sore teeth while getting used to the braces and tenderness after wisdom teeth removal. While I admit I’m mostly writing a review to get the points, I do genuinely recommend this toothbrush and app and am so thankful to this product for making such an torturous time for me a million times easier, fresher, and less painful.

Guided brushing is the most helpful part

So far, after about a month, the Guided Brushing portion of the app has been most useful/fun for me. App seems easy to navigate (although the Pirate game seems to be too much effort—but I could see where it has a sort of “video game” aspect that could be a draw for some). I haven’t used any points yet, but seems to be a good way to earn replacement heads. I had my biannual dental cleaning just the other day, and was told everything looked great. The dentist checked me with his loupes before the hygienist completed the formal cleaning and “scraping,” per se. She had said that I was doing such a good job with such minimal plaque, she could’ve told him that she had already performed the cleaning, and he likely would’ve believed it. I generally get “good marks” at my q 6 month dental visits, but the superlatives seemed especially high this time around. Seems this could have been due to the Hum brush and guided brushing. However, although I consistently get 100% coverage each time I brush, I never got better than 20-50% correct angle—and that’s in only one or two sections. Seems off since otherwise by “objective” measure I’ve been doing so well. So, I’m not sure that the angle rating is exactly right, who knows? That’s why I subtracted one star as of now.

Have been using this app since I had the Apple toothbrush

I’ve been using this app since I have the Apple toothbrush, and now I have the hum toothbrush. I feel like it motivates me to brush my teeth, everyday. Most people do not brush their teeth for the amount of time that they’re supposed to and this app seems to help me a lot definitely with the guided brushing feature. I love that I can show my dentist how I’m brushing and the spots that I am likely to miss brushing my teeth. How do you like the rewards program but I feel like there could be more rewards and it also takes you over a month to get any of the rewards which I guess helps you be motivated to get those discounts by brushing your teeth twice a day for at least 30 seconds and 50% coverage. The only negative that I have to say is if you’re not brushing your whole mouth, the guided brushing does not work as effectively. Since they come out with Apple toothbrush, I also would like to say a possible negative about they haven’t really upgraded their app really at all since then this isn’t really a negative because the app still works if you think about it but I could see how some people wouldn’t like that hasn’t been upgraded for a couple years.

Love this brush and app!!

I can’t say enough great things about this toothbrush and app! For so many years I have not been brushing with a 45 degree angle. The guided brushing teaches you how to brush consistently with a 45 degree angle AND brush for at least 2 minutes. It tracks speed, brush angle, time and more. You can also brush offline and as long as you connect with your brush every 10 days it will track it and tell you how to improve. Using the app allows you to collect smile points which can be used to buy new brush heads, toothbrushes, exercise and sleep apps etc. There’s also a daily question that has some really interesting stuff as well as daily challenges that give you points as well. There are 3 settings on the brush, sensitive, normal and whitening. I use whitening and it feels like dentist clean every time. After I bought mine- I loved it so much that I bought my son and husband one. My son uses the sensitive setting to strengthen his gums. I bought my daughter and her fiancée one because she gets professional whitening and her fiancée has sensitive teeth.
This is a great toothbrush and I hope you love yours as much as I love mine!

First interactive teeth brushing app that I ENJOY!

So first when I thought this product I had my doubts, because I actually use sonic hair diamond plus, but I wanted to give this more of a shot because it’s more affordable it seems intelligent, and it just seems you need to try so I was like why not?

Boy was I surprised when I tried this out and not only did I see how I was brushing, I noticed that there is definitely a unique way and that we all should be brushing in a proper manner. It makes you feel confident about your brushing after you finish and you know you’ve cleaned every part of your mouth and it also rewards you with points that you can use towards replacement brush heads or even toothbrushes or many more things!

For the price of this item and the free downloadable app I think this is a knock out of the park! Especially for kids as well because I know how stubborn kids can be with brushing teeth! They have a games that kids can play while they brush their teeth and it makes it much more interesting and more of a fun habit instead of a annoying boring habit! Get this! You won’t regret it!

Used to be better

I’m frustrated by a few things on this app. It was once far easier to acquire points and use these rewards towards items in the shop. Now the app periodically doesn’t record points for some brushing sessions, may lose progress if the app crashes or closes, doesn’t always calculate offline brushings, and any challenges are few and far between. Because of these issues, it’s not easy to accumulate enough points to redeem most of the items in the shop.

It also doesn’t track when you’re actually brushing an area of teeth during a guided brushing session or realize you’re brushing at the suggested 45 degree angle. You should be able to set the time you’d like to brush each area as well but instead if it doesn’t register within the allotted area time, it shows those teeth are not fully brushed. On top of that, shipping is now charged for products you’d like to use points to redeem. What’s the point of rewards for items when shipping costs almost as much as the product you’re using rewards points for?

I appreciate being able to log my brushing sessions and check the battery power on my brush, but the potential this app has is not being fully tapped. Please try to make this app actually worth keeping open when brushing!
