Description

The quip app makes it easy to track and improve your oral care routine, get a virtual checkup, and earn rewards for good habits! Any toothbrush, floss, or mouthwash can be tracked, with extra points earned for using quip.

Note: The quip app is designed for ages 13+ and is also compatible with the Apple Health® app.

Everyday care
It’s simple: Good habits are the key to better oral health. That means brushing your teeth for two minutes, twice a day, flossing and rinsing regularly, and visiting the dentist every 6 months.

To help you stay on track with your daily routines, we made an app that rewards you every time you treat your teeth right.

How it works
• Pair a quip Smart Brush to auto-track how long & well you brush
• Or manually log your habits with any brush, floss, or mouthwash
• Earn points for tracking good habits & unlocking achievements
• Redeem rewards like free products, retail gift cards, refills, & more

Brush better
Once you pair a quip Smart Brush, it will automatically log every routine (no phone needed!) To review your brush history, open the app with Bluetooth on when it’s close to your brush. Or manually track date and duration with any toothbrush.

Floss & rinse
Cleaning between your teeth at least once a day is recommended by the American Dental Association, alongside a daily refresh with anticavity mouthwash. Track both to make your dentist proud and earn points!

Points & rewards
Stack up daily points for brushing 2 minutes, twice a day (1x with any brush, 10x with a quip Smart Brush!), plus flossing and rinsing. You can also earn bonus points for achievements, like logging 100 brushings!

Redeem rewards
Turn your points into amazing rewards from quip and our growing list of partners — updated regularly! Popular rewards include free products, retail gift cards, refills, sweepstakes entries, and more.

Tips & reminders
The dashboard shows if you’re really brushing 2 minutes, twice a day (like dentists recommend!) and flossing and rinsing regularly. Check out tips to improve your habits and push notification reminders so you never miss a routine.

New! Virtual checkups
Teledentistry is a convenient option for both dental pain and preventative care. All you need is 5 minutes and a camera phone to get a detailed report from a real online dentist within 24 hours.

gabrielinator,
It works now
After it not working for a while, something must’ve changed and it now actually registers brushes from my device. It’s not bad to use. I’m pretty sure I have to open the app every time I want it to sync (as opposed to it just logging it in the background). This is totally expected, but the sync can be a little finicky. I have to press refresh a few times usually to make sure it picks it up. The points system actually seems kinda fair. It’s varied so when you go on streaks you get WAY more points than otherwise, and I feel like I could actually get some free stuff within a rational amount of time (I’m going for the free bag right now).

Edit: Kudos. They’re making it better and better. Since my last review I’ve discovered you don’t have to open the app every time you brush, and it remembers your brushes pretty well. Not only that but they made a huge improvement in a recent update where it starts the next day at 3am, which is more sensible and accommodating IMO. Can’t wait to get my free bath case
a US soldier,
Great app, phenomenal company
I don’t ever really write reviews, only when I feel it is most deserved. Quip has blown me away with how great they are as a company. The customer service is super quick and understanding and very generous and helpful. I have been a residual customer for a couple years now, only had about 2 issues in that span and they went above and beyond for me both times. I just discovered the app recently and was mind blown yet again. Rewards just for doing what I already do daily? Amazing! And not going to lie, I struggle to brush twice daily. But in the app, you get bonus points for brushing twice. This app is Incentivizing me to implement a healthier lifestyle. Absolutely Genius.i love this company. I couldn’t be happier with quip, my products, the service, and the app! Super happy customer 🥰 I am so happy with quip, I think I’m going to buy the floss and mouthwash too. Keep up the great work quip!!!

Faulty
I love quip and I’ve been using it for a little under a year. However, I got the smart toothbrush, to save some money on special gifts and rewards but the app doesn’t work. Literally at all. I brush my teeth everyday, morning and night, until my toothbrush turns off but the app has only picked up one day. I’ve had this toothbrush for about a week now. I don’t want to regret this decision, but it’s frustrating how faulty the app is. We should be able to set the time we wake up and go to sleep so the app can calculate around the time we would brush our teeth or something. I’m really disappointed because I didn’t expect it to be this difficult.

Edit:
I’ve been using the toothbrush for about a week now and it works better after I keep the app open while brushing. It’s just a little misleading because the app says that’s not required but it lowkey is lol. After leaving the app open while brushing, the app loaded my other previous brushing that wasn’t first reported. So basically keep the app open when you start brushing.
sbr517,
Kind of love this app
I’ve been quipping for years with the original non-smart motor toothbrush and decided to upgrade to the smart motor and get rewards for brushing. The app/ reward system successfully keeps me from putting off brushing because I’m too tired, and keeps me motivated to never skip it. It’s only been a few days so far but I think it will last. The only downside is you DO have to open the app and keep it open while brushing. A couple times I started brushing before opening the app and it took a few minutes after I was done to register the brush. I was afraid it wouldn’t register at all. So you have to be vigilant about opening the app and let it sync first to be sure get the points every time. I also wish there was a way to remove the fake “brushes” - if you turn it on accidentally after your actual brush it shows up as like a 7 second additional brush and there’s no way to delete it. Not a big deal, but would be a nice touch so you can only see your actual brushes. Overall a great concept/ app!

Quip Toothbrush
So I got this as a gift back around Thanksgiving time and just now getting to use it for the first time and I have to say is very simple Yep very efficient I love the material the bristles are made of and the fact that it’s a smart toothbrush and helps me track my brushing but even more importantly reward you for doing a good job. This is super awesome considering you’re supposed to brush your teeth anyways so getting rewarded for doing something you’re supposed to do is always nice and gives people incentive to keep up with her hygiene. I have read a few reviews on it where they say the getting your brush to connect to your phone is hard so I will edit this review if that is the case but so far so good.
yodelingpuppet,
Don’t get the smart brush
Set up for the smart brush is an absolute nightmare. It took multiple emails to finally create an account. And no, there was not an account using any of those emails. After almost 45 minutes and numerous password resets, we finally created an account… but then we got to the horrific pairing process. Spent almost another 35 minutes troubleshooting and refreshing, then asking the support team for help. That was over an hour ago and still no response. I’m pretty tech savvy, I mean, I’ve got over 60 smart home products, dozens of automations, and voice activated tech throughout my home. So it stands to reason that I should be able to setup a freaking toothbrush. There’s absolutely nothing “smart” about this device. It’s going back to Target, and getting replaced by a Sonicare. Honestly though, even a $2 brush would be better than this nonsense along with the useless customer service. Also, talked to my dentist and received numerous opinions after sharing my experience. Several of the dentist’s and technicians all think quip is a gimmick and a joke. Stay away from this garbage.
AshLilyNeko,
Pretty good except…
Almost every time this app updates, I have to re-pair my brush to it. I am not talking about getting a new smart motor or a new phone. I got the smart motor as soon as I saw them on the quip store because YAY and THATS SO AWESOME!! And when the brush stays paired, it is really awesome! But I feel like sometimes I am missing out on points for brushing and the rewards store because the app updates or the iOS updates and it forgets my brush ☹️ without this problem this app and quip are definitely 5 stars, I would just like to see this issue resolved please. Maybe there is some way the brush can be saved into my phones Bluetooth devices? My phone always remembers my devices through updates and everything. So yeah I definitely recommend both the app and the smart motor, I just would also like to stop having to pair my brush with it lol.

The App Deleted My Paired Brush
I was trying to sync my toothbrush to the app again after a while of not using the app. My account said that my toothbrush was connected to a different account (which it never was), therefore it was not able to connect back or sync my brushes. When I logged in on the website it was showing that my toothbrush was still connected. But on the app, it showed differently, and I could not get my toothbrush to reconnect to the account. The customer service person was not helpful at all and only kept saying to “unpair” my toothbrush from the app. My toothbrush was not even connected in the app and there was also no option on the website to unpair to try to reconnect. Still having the issue. The app seems very faulty with connecting. The sync has been great through, when it was connected before all of this happened.

I like it with one annoying flaw
To start, I want to say I love the quip brush and the app so far. It’s a great brush and it’s been a great experience using the app. That is, with one exception. When logging brushes on an electric non-smart brush, you are allowed to change the amount of time you brush but not the actual time you brush at. This is incredibly annoying and frustrating because I may get distracted and not log my brush the second I start or finish and may instead need to add it in later and adjust the time accordingly. However, the app locks it at whatever time you log your brush at and there’s no way to change it. I don’t understand how and why that’s not an available feature. It seems like something people would very much need and it highly questionable why an app for a brush this popular wouldn’t include this very basic feature.
Bread 2.0,
Downhill
I have used quip for almost a year now, and I keep hitting more and more obstacles with this company. The refill subscription ended up being useless, since the package for my replacement brush head shipped and then magically disappeared. I emailed customer support and all they did was blame Covid and did not issue a refund. I canceled my subscription and just figured I’d go to my local store that had the replacements and do that every time, but I’m disappointed with the functionality of this app as well. The app is forever stuck calculating my points. I haven’t known how many points I have for quite a while now, and I’m pretty sick of hoping for it to finally work someday. I’m ready to just delete this entire account and just use the toothbrush alone at this point. It’s more annoying than anything else, and I have points I can’t access. Very disappointing.
