A tragic tale of time's cruelty unfolds in Square Enix's first Apple Watch-exclusive RPG!

■A dark and timeless world

The Goddess is gone and time has stopped. Now it's up to you to traverse the Rift and stand against those who would see its flow stilled forever. Regrettably, the path to saving the Goddess of Time is not an easy one.

■Simple, but engaging battles

While normal attacks are automatic, you must leverage powerful skills and strengthen your sword to make it through the Rift.

■An Apple Watch experience

The power of time is in your hands. Simply use the Digital Crown to turn back the clock! Certain conditions may also earn you special messages.

Caim wildfox,
Need a desperate update and soon
When I first bought this game it was fun to walk around and have it track my movements in the game. The more I moved the further I progressed. Now it crashes about 10 to 15 seconds into the game and I can not go any further. I tried to reinstall it but that was a no go. Square if you are reading the comments please update the game and get rid of this crashing bug. I want to travel through time again!!

Update: I tried to play again just to see if it would work on the series 6 watch. I still can not close out of the level up screen. This game is fun. I want it to work again. Come on square. Update!!!
Mattybilly1,
I don’t normally write reviews, this app needed one
I’m a more recent adopter of the Apple Watch. I own an Apple Watch SE on WatchOS 7.3.3 and an iPhone XR on 14.3. At first I thought the compilation had froze on the title screen, but it was actually just syncing with the app. The game is fun for a watch app. RPG fans will enjoy this little “pastime” I wouldn’t call it a game. $9 is roadside robbery, but with Runeblade gone it’s truly one of a kind (and still technically works/is supported). My other criticism is this compilation doesn’t support iCloud backups, so if the app is deleted or refreshes the cache you can lose all of your progress (though, it might be possible to export that save data with root user access on iPhone). I still have much to try, but I will say that at least as of NOW, on my current settings this compilation does indeed work and makes the watch feel like a slightly more worthwhile buy.
midnightwiseman,
Fun game but no updates!
I recently had the pleasure of getting my hands on this game, and at first you’re put off by the general confusion of it all, but give it time and you’ll be hooked. There is only one MAJOR flaw. THERE HASNT BEEN AN UPDATE FOR OVER A YEAR! I mean come on Square Enix I know that it’s gotta take a lot of effort into making and maintaining these games. Especially one like this, but have you just like forgotten about it all together. Have you read the reviews. Truth is it’s an excellent game and concept but it’s extremely buggy and crashes constantly. And not just on a specific series of Apple Watch, it’s on every series. You can barely get past one of the hours before it crashes, and the crown control doesn’t properly function. I mean look it’s great and all but if you’re going to expect people to dish out $9.00 for a game like this at least keep it updated please. I hope to give it a five star review soon.
Broken game 3584,
Fun but noisy
Updated: Giving it a one star now as it can’t be played. With no updates for over a year, it seems like it was a waste of money.

Really fun game, love the UI of moving the crown to access other menus and for time traveling. Really great idea for a watch game. The graphics are fun to watch and you don't have to be 100% stuck to your watch cause you will be notified of an event and the game actually pauses until you respond. That's not to say you can't be glued and rack up huge chains. The only reason for 4 stars is I can't find anyway in game to disable the beeps the game makes. So if you are playing at work or school you have to silence your watch every time. I just wish they would have the option to turn the sound off and on in the game.
Wander EX,
Great game - bad crash bugs
Honestly this game was exactly what I was looking for; a bite-sized adventure that has more depth that it seems.

Unfortunately I am in the same boat as many other reviewers. Since a recent update, I'm having trouble progressing in the game due to nasty crash bugs that reset my entire watch.

Please fix this so I can continue to enjoy your game, thanks.
Andy R.,
A great watch title
While it does freeze from time to time, and can be a bit glitchy it's a great debut watch game from Square. It's built for the watch: play it occasionally for short bursts and let it cruise along at other times. It's as involving as you want it to be for asking you to stare at a tiny screen in your wrist. I think moving forward I'd like to see a little more phone involvement, even if just for an occasional cut-scene. This would allow for a deeper story line, which the lack of is this game's weakest point to me. Overall it's a good game with lasting playability.
k1g_app,
Rip-off Alert
I have the new Apple Watch 2 with the latest watchOS update so I expect that when I pay $8 for an app, that it actually works.
This game freezes, then crashes my watch upon trying to close it.

When it is working it's laggy and a terrible experience. The main aspect of the game - time travel -never works. Every single time I try to travel time the screen goes completely black, then my watch freezes or crashes when I exit the game. So I can't play the game because the main mechanic is bugged so badly that it crashes my watch. Not to mention, it's a far stretch calling this an RPG.

$8 for an app that doesn't work. I'm not impressed.

If anybody is looking for a decent RPG for their watch, get Runeblade. It's free, it's pretty fun (as fun as a watch-based RPG can be anyway) and IT ACTUALLY WORKS (it does crash occasionally, but it just crashes the app, not the entire watch, and even when it does crash it takes just a few seconds to re-open it and you don't lose and progress).
Akoniti,
Wish it worked...
The game itself is great, but after a few days it ends up just showing me the title screen on my Watch. Sometimes removing from Watch and re-adding fixes the issue, but eventually it just sticks on the title screen irreconcilably.

Also, very difficult to get chrono/skill upgrades and clock to actually load with spin of dial, rarely works.

The only reason I paid top dollar for it was faith in SQUARE, and they have let me down. Garbage-ware atm, hoping for a future update that enables me to actually play through.
GabeZs,
Doesn’t work on Series 3
I would love to rate this game but it won’t even begin. It gets as far as telling you to start it on the watch, but it never does. I may ask for a refund on this game as it simply isn’t playable.

******
Update
******

There appears to be something wrong with the Bluetooth connectivity when this is run on a series 3 watch. In order to get this to work, restart your phone, launch the game on the watch, wait for it to ask you to start the game on the phone, keep tapping the watch screen to keep it from going out, and then launch the game on the phone. The moment the watch screen goes out, it won’t see it (even though the watch is clearly connected). Following that, it will work normally. You just have to get passed this initial glitch. I hope I helped.
Boredbot199,
This is a
Fantastic little time sink. I’m on day six so far, and I love it. After my watch was upgraded however, I noticed that the game is a bit smaller than the watch series 4 screen, it seems it could use an update after two years.
