I've had an interest in this sport since I was very young. Although not the same caliber as the Douglas Fairbanks and Errol Flynn swashbuckling style of sword fighting I loved to watch in the classic movies of days gone by, it deff was something is always wanted to try, and still would. When I saw this game in the IstoreI jumped on it right away. So far I have found it to be a very interesting and fun game. More and more I find myself selecting this one over my usual choice in my game folder. I would go as far as saying that it has rekindled my interest in the sport. At 60, I'm certain it's beyond reach as far as developing useful skills but it would still be cool to use it as a form of exercise perhaps. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the game a lot. Thanks to the developers for not jumping on the bandwagon of cash grabbing types. So many developers insist on driving Bentleys and Jaguars when you can look just as cool in a Corvette and have loyal group of followers who say great things about you and your product. Downloaded this game about 2 months ago, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it for the most part. Excellent graphics, fun multiplayer competition, and cool outfits/techniques. However there are some issues with it. Firstly, once you’re max level, it’s quite difficult to keep leveling up certain items you may want for your characters, even if you spend money on them. Secondly, the glitches aren’t too frequent, when they do they’re disappointing. For example, I spent money on a special outfit and game currency only to have it glitch out when I purchased it. I clicked it again thinking it never went through, only to be double charged. And numerous times after leveling up certain legendary items, I have painstakingly saved up “shields” (which is the only way after you max out everything to get keep upgrading any items), only to have the game glitch out, shut off, and lose a large portion of those shields. And finally, I learned that if you go to the one section to “Report a problem”, it doesn’t allow you. Click on it all you like it will never help you contact the company. However, despite its shortcomings, I do recommend this game if you like fighting games and swordplay. But be forewarned, these issues will take the fun out of if you spend time, money, and effort on it.

I remember playing this game a year ago back when I still found it fun. The matches were quick, challenging, and entertaining. Now? Not it’s just miss after miss after block after block. This isn’g challenging, it’s annoying. Where’s the fun in that? Every time I go to land a hit, *miss* I get blocks, but I’m literally on the third chapter or whatever and all these guys do is dodge my attacks. Me? I don’t get nearly as many dodges as them. And for some reason, if I for example lunge at the opponent, and the opponent lunges at me mid way through my lunge, he hits. I was around Chapter Five when I just decided it was enough. I wasn’t having fun anymore. Every fight lasted forever and was mostly me trying to either block my opponents mountain of attacks or me trying to hit him over and over yet missing every time. I even followed the whole ‘concentration’ tactics yet they did not work. I get having the final fight opponents have this dodging ability, but every fight just feels like a final fight now. This game was fun, but now I can’t find the fun in it. I suggest a name change. From “FIE Swordplay” to something along the lines of “Missing Simulator.” Are they all John Wick or... what? I tried every fighting style available, all sorts of different techniques, yet the missing never stopped.

This game is very fun to play and I realize it was made to be simple to understand, but there should also be modes for people who actually fence and know the rules. As a foil fencer, what weapon is being fenced is confusing (the character holds a foil while wearing no lame). Right of way is employed sometimes, but at other times there are epée rules. It would be great if you could select foil,epée , and sabre modes that have the real rules actually apply in addition to keeping the original, more simple mode. The energy is also very annoying. I want to be able to pick up and play whenever I want for as long as I want. Instead I now can only fence six bouts and have to wait a while for energy to refill. Energy should be unlimited. It makes the game boring if I can only fence six bouts and then be done. The outfits are very cool and so are the backgrounds during bouts and weapons able to be unlocked later on. The fact that the lights often say off-target when a touché is scored is awfully weird. There is quite a bit of lag and the parries aren't always responsive. Despite these issues, this is one of my favorite games and will be my favorite game if these changes are made :)

So I never write reviews but I had to make an exception for this game, it’s amazing! The fencing moves are so realistic and it is so addicting, I love how you get to start as a basic fencing student and move on to like championships and stuff, plus it always lets you retry until you win. I have experienced NO ADS AT ALL and it’s soooooo great, since most games have tons of ads, it’s easy to play and has really got me interested in this sport and taught me many different moves, it’s just such a fun game in general! Absolutely ignore the reviews that say this is a bad game, it’s a complete lie. It’s one of the best games out there! It’s the most realistic fencing game too, you get to have this really live experience while fencing which just makes it even better. It is totally worth getting and it’s free and you don’t have to pay anything, so at least TRY the game, people, play for 10 minutes at least, you’ll love it! I promise! It’s free so just try. So once again, BEST FENCING GAME EVER!

I have played this game for a while and it is awesome. But I do have something to say about the recent update. If you are a new player, this won’t affect you, but for older players it might. I had a power level of about 1200 before the update and was at city level 10, and most of the competitions either had a easy or normal difficulty level. But after the update, my character’s power was nerfed to 889, which at first didn’t seem like a problem, but now all my competitions difficulty levels jumped up to impossible. In order for me to continue the game, I’ll have to go back to the seventh city and get common cards until I can level something up. Now I still enjoy the game and still will play it, but it’s kind of annoying that I have to reset my progress by three cities. Could you guys maybe do anything about this?

First off I really enjoy this game. I loved playing through the campaign and fighting my friends online. But there is one thing that I really dislike. I don’t like how later in the game you have almost no chance of hitting your opponent or blocking their attacks. They give you styles that are able to counter moves or block them, but every time you try it will almost always be dodged or just ignored. This feature makes it so you will have to spend money to get through the harder parts or you’ll have to keep on fighting until the game allows you to hit the opponent. I do understand that you can upgrade equipment to have a better chance of blocking, dodging, and hitting your opponents, but the way you upgrade and progress prevents you from being able to do so. I suggest having a feature where if your concentration is higher than your opponents you will be able to hit them more often. Overall this game is very fun but flawed in its progression.

After getting through campaign and participating in only two pvp competitions, I can say that this game isn't a cash grab at all. Single competitions give you up to 7000c; basically the price of the most expensive gear not acquired through pvp. Gold is given freely. I had enough to buy the 28gold flag that holds 3 extra energy the same day I started. If you're playing more than 18 bouts in one go, consider giving it a rest.
Overall fun although gear breaks the game when concentration regenerates faster that AI swings. You literally cannot be hit with lvl45 gear. I would absolutely love to see LIVE/REALTIME PVP. That would make this game something really really special. Two live players with great gear and concentration bars would be far more exciting than one of five simple AI's on rotation. I'd even pay to unlock it.

Ok, I don’t want to sound like I’m the best player, but this game does need skill. I never write reviews but this game is different. It’s a little hard to upgrade your weapons, so the fights may end up a little lopsided on the power levels. The way to win in this game isn’t paying, which is surprising, as I was expecting it to be a pay-to-win type of game. As I was saying, the way to win in duels, campaign fights, etc, is by choosing and honing your skills with a certain weapon and moveset. You can play defensively, offensively, etc.
All in all, this game does have it’s glitches, though they’re easy to overlook, the overall combat system is very fun and good, though some mechanics may seem flawed and unfair. I rate this game a 9.5/10. Def recommend.

Previously you could earn in game money at a decent rate by doing missions and winning matches so that you could buy equipment. It would take maybe ten matches or five missions. They lowered the amount of money you can earn on anything by about a factor of ten so it now takes a ridiculous amount of time to win enough to upgrade gear. Furthermore the game has become intensely ad driven. Previously free rewards for winning bouts have become accessible only if you watch an ad every time. Now You no longer are forced to do hundreds rather than dozens of bouts, you have to watch a three minute ad every time if you have any hope of upgrading and progressing in the game. Devs need to choose one or the other because it is frankly too hard to progress because of these time and money obstacles.
