ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING!!!!!
I simply cannot overstate the absolute insane quality of this amazing game! I have played this game for 100+ hours, and it is completely in a class of its own for a space-oriented game. This game is amazing in so many ways, but I will only list a few; 1) The free play is awesome! Very few mobile games have such a free, open-world gameplay like GOF2. The way you are able to just go wherever you want to go, do whatever you want to do, and be whoever you want to be is really only matched by a VERY few select games. 2) The storyline is extremely well done! The storyline was made in such a way that it not only captivates the player, but influences the player to almost wish it would never end. And finally 3) The detail is incredible! Just the fact that there are so many different ships, weapons, equipment, etc. and that there are descriptions of each and every one just goes to show the creators really put a TON of time into making this absolute LEGEND of a game. I have played this game for several years and I will continue to play it for many many more. Thank you so much FISHLABS for making a game that gives the player everything he would ever want :). SUB NOTE: for those unaware, there is a Galaxy On Fire 2 WIKI. I have found this WIKI to be extremely helpful, especially when I was confused on what to do next. Best space game I've ever played
I've been playing this game non stop since it came out, and I still haven't gotten bored of it. The free roam, interesting characters, beautiful scenery with a massive galaxy to explore, this game takes my breath away. From the moment you start, the character development begins, and you're sucked in to this universe where you rediscover your past, help fight off an alien threat, and save the woman you love from her twisted sister in an epic space battle. This game has everything! Supernovas, wormholes, weird banana slug black market traders, you name it! You're free to go about playing the game as you see fit, and to choose a profession that suits your personality. Do you enjoy hunting and destroying dangerous enemies? Bounty hunting! Pillaging cargo from well defended freighters in enemy space? Pirate! Or, would you rather take things slow with a steady income, and be relatively combat-free? Trader! The thing about gof2 is that you're free to be whoever you want to be, and most importantly, they don't push micro-transactions on you. Honestly, seeing the total fiasco of gof3, I'm content to just wander the galaxy, remembering the good old times. Trust me, if you want to get a game that you can play for years to come, this is the best 20 dollars you will ever spend.

I’ve discovered a few glitches
I love this game and really enjoy playing it, but after this recent update, I’ve run into a few glitches. These two glitches are really that bad. The first one is that cloaks don’t work properly anymore. The ships coloring after cloaking never exactly matches the background anymore, so playing the supernova expansion is really dumb because I can see the stealth fighters even when cloaked completely removing the challenge. This also messes with the player’s cloak too, and it makes the cloaked ship silly looking. Occasionally activating a cloak will freeze the game either by the player or the stealth fighters which would be slightly annoying, but the games autosave makes it just a minor setback. Then other glitch I’ve found is that the games music has been permanently turned off. No matter how many times I change the settings to music on I can never hear it. When I restart the app the music is turned off again even if I set the music to on. How am I supposed to kill stealth fighters or voids without their respective theme songs? Yes this glitches are very small and petty, but they ruin the immersion just a bit. I play on a iPhone 6S with fully updated iOS software.

AMAZING GAME [Fish Labs PLEASE READ!]
This is, by far, my favorite game. I think most sci-fi enthusiasts know this. Something about the visuals and the open world freedom are so entertaining that I never want to stop. However, I believe that this is where the series has peaked. The second Manticore came out, I was all over it. However, after playing for a bit, I realized that its prequel was SO much better. My suggestion to the developers is to not try to go for something new and outside the box of this series, simply make a revamp of this amazing game with slight improvements of things like the selection of turrets, a slightly updated commodity/trading system, and just an update for the entire game. That would be so amazing for me, because I LOVE THIS GAME so, so, so much. Fish Labs, if you’re reading this, know that we all (all of us fans) want this type of open world multi-directional game where you can change everything and make a name for yourself through trading, fighting, hoarding, or all of them. If you listen to these suggestions for future installments or future updates to this game, my life would be fulfilled! Thanks for listening, all!

Impressive!
One of the most impressive titles I have played on ANY platform! This game needs to be ported over to other platforms like PS3 and PC! When are we getting more content or another installment?! I have been playing this game over and over. Lost count as to how many times I've beaten it and I still return to it. The fact that it's open ended means I can go on trading, pirating, whatever! This game IS the standard by which all other space sims should follow. WHERE IS GOF3?! I certainly hope Fishlabs puts it out...and soon. AND I hope there is something for the loyal fans who have purchased both GoF 1&2...or at least GoF 2. Like say the carrying over of a saved game, or money from a saved game...maybe even a choice of ship from your fleet.
Update: Years later…and I still haven’t found an iPhone game that can replace it. GoF3:Manticore was a major disappointment and by comparison seems like a hollow shell of it’s predecessors. GOF2 has made it onto every iPhone I have owned since it’s release. There’s just nothing like it. To bad the developers went the route they did.

Best space game ever.
So at first I saw this gam I thought that it was gonna be another lame game so I looked at the pictures and I said this game has very good graphics so I downloaded it forgetting that there was another Galaxy on fire so I didn't even download that and I had no idea what I had to do so I went and did the tutorial and I was soo excited to buy a new ship so I was trying to find out where do I go to buy a new ship and I couldn't find it so I'm like I probably have to go further in the campaign so I did and so I went and bought the cheapest ship I can find I flew it for hours and then I resumed doing the campaign and 2 hours later I ended it and then I saw that there was more to it so I bought all of the Dlc's and then it took me another 8 hours to end the rest of the campaign. Also I have one thing to ask you can you put it to the point where you can change your view into the cockpit and make the game multiplayer thanks and also add more things to the campaign. Thank you for making a game this good to the point where I can't stop playing it.

Amazing Game
To start, this game is amazing. The storyline, graphics, missions, commodities; everything is unique. However, the game crashes sometimes, especially when there are several large ship explosions on screen, but I attribute this to my device and not the game itself. Second, I have a suggestion. What if you could outfit different ships separately. To elaborate, I have the Gator Custom as my trade ship and the Bloodstar as my all-rounder (I’m planning on buying the Groza Mk ll when it rolls around in the Kaamo lounge). Since the Gator is my trade ship, I would want to replace my thrusters in exchange for more Rhoda Blackholes. What I’m saying is, if you could equip things on a ship and have them stay there instead of carrying over to a ship you switch to, you wouldn’t have to re-equip modules you wanted and take time to store the ones you don’t need for later use. So, if I switched to my Gator, my specified load out would already be equipped, and when I switched back to my Bloodstar, the loadout for that would be there.

They messed up the game. The original version was so good. It had good controls, gameplay, and was downright fun. While it can still be fun, Fishlabs new changes have made the game worse. While the graphics may be better, now the joystick controls are too small to use effectively. When you play on an iPad, they are the same size as for the iPhone. In other words, they are ridiculously small and difficult to use. In addition, when their new update came around it cleared all my saves. After I had played for over 10 hours and completed the game, it deleted all of my files. On top of this, because the game is considered as different from the original GOF2 by the App Store, the game won’t allow you to restore any in-store purchases made in the original, non HD, GOF2, nor can you transfer your iCloud saves from the non HD version. If your coming from the original, non HD version of this game you’re going to have to do it all over again. The main thing this game makes me wonder is why it needed to exist at all. Most of these issues could have been addressed if they had just made this game an update to the original. Why did Fishlabs need to mess this up by making it a separate game?

I’ll start off by saying that this is without a doubt one of the best free games out there. However, the experience is not complete without purchasing the two expansion pacts and other add ons. I think what makes this game so great is that you can do whatever you want. You can become a trader, a plunderer, or you can just fly around shooting down other people. The freedom of this game is great, and it’s something that gof3 lacks. The expansion packs add more to the main quest, but mainly, they add new weapons and things like that. Now, there are a few problems. One being that a new player to this game will have no clue what to do, and another is that the quests eventually become very repetitive, especially in the main quest. It’s not so much a problem with the side quests since you don’t have to do them. Even with this issue, I’d still say that the game deserves five out of five. The dlc are completely worth it. I’m only giving it a 4 because it freezes every now and then, and I have to reload the game and it’s a bit of an annoyance.

Great game, but I want my DLC’s
So, it’s a great game, no doubt about it. It’s addicting, it’s engaging, and it has just enough of a story that it’s worth playing through to the end. The graphics are top notch, the gameplay is pretty fantastic, and it just works as a casual game to pick up and fly to the next station to see if they’ve got the materials you need for your next blueprint. My only complaint is one that seems pretty common here: the IAP’s from the previous version don’t count on this one. I bought both DLC’s, because the game is excellent and so were they, but on the HD version it wants me to buy them again. I’m not sure how much control the devs had over this, but I wish they would at least put the old one back up, even as a free to play, just so we could play the DLC’s without having to buy them again.
But, if you didn’t have the DLC’s before and have no intention of deleting this from your phone to make room for something else (I believe you’ll have to buy the DLC’s again in this case too), it’s definitely worth your time and money.
