Avatar Variety
The game itself is great! Only issue I have with the mechanics is that it doesn't allow you to choose your choice of sets or runs, it assumes the "best" option and that's final. You can discard from your sets or runs which would bring back your previous arrangements but I'd like to sometimes keep what I had and choose how I'd like to set that up.

Unrelated to the actual game, I wish there were more avatars to choose from. The list is alright but I'd enjoy a larger list to choose from. Suggestion to acquire the avatar icons after completing a certain their. Ex: I'd like to have the option of being an ant, so once I'm no longer in the tier against "Antonio" the ant, I should be allowed the option of using that image.
CalGirl84,
Horrible win ratio
Update: I received a response from the developer, which I don’t know if it will still be included at the end of this post. I guess I hit a nerve with the developer because the first line in their response back to me was condescending. I guess I shouldn’t expect an “absolutely perfect experience” for a free app. Many people have written similar things perhaps my comment on “not having a robust algorithm” didn’t sit well. Regardless, I have mentioned what I don’t like about it and those should be taken as improvements needed.

Original post: I agree with other reviewers that the game seems unbalanced in the win ratio the higher you go. Some have alluded to it being to get more ads in, but I just think it’s the developers not having a robust enough algorithm to keep track of cards played. There are times where you are not shown the winning hand or the losing hand of the computers just a score. There are also times I feel the same card has been drawn and discarded from the deck. I also don’t like that the game will suggest your discards or pressure you into passing or drawing a card if you take to long to make a decision. I feel if you don’t take the advice the next card drawn or played is on path to you losing. Still play the game in hopes that it will get better and it does keep your mind active though at times frustrated.
cgracgra,
Great game if you enjoy losing the more you progress
Update: so I wrote the below review and I was ok with the loss ratio but the higher I go, the more I lose. And the 90% win rate the computer has in 3 hands or less is now about 99%. The 10 second ads are longer than my hands. And judging by their responses in other reviews, it’s not a valid problem for them but here’s a tip - if a lot of your complaints are about the same thing, then it’s obviously an issue, whether you want to believe it is or not. The fact that play time is about 25% and ads 75% is crazy. Really disappointed.

Original: First, I really enjoy playing games by Mobilityware - I have 5 that I regularly rotate through. They all have the same type of ads after each hand/round but they’re short and easily skipped and really aren’t an issue in the other games. I love this game; my problem is that the computer wins 90% of the games in 3 hands or less. I win 0% of the games in 3 hands or less. It’s extremely unbalanced. Several times, I’ve been at 95-99 points while the computer is at zero and yet somehow the computer manages to win. It’s incredibly frustrating - and it makes me feel like it’s just a way to quickly cycle through more ads because the rounds are so short. It’s obviously not enough to make me stop playing but is enough to take away a star. Thanks!
MaskedWagon,
This Is Not The Gin Rummy I Knew
Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought the knock card is supposed to be whatever the first face card is. The way the game is set up, you can always knock if it’s under 10 points. Also if an Ace is the first face card, that used to mean you play the game without knocking. The opponent doesn’t seem interested in creating runs but just collecting very low cards. If I discard any card lower than a 4, I know they’re going to take it and that creates a very different type of game.

I understand the necessity of ads but do they have to appear after every single round??? In addition, the ads have become even more obnoxious when you press the X or close as some still subject you to another 5 or 10 seconds and some you have to close out of several times. This could be a much better game but I’m going to give it a pass, just too many issues.
dg1.Hellfire,
Too many ads and horrible chance balance
The sheer volume of ads is the main reason for deleting this app. It lasted a week. There are just too many ads after such short hands. When you realize that the cost per ad is the goal here, it really limits a positive gameplay experience.

Speaking of gameplay, there are instances where opponents win in two plays far too often or get Gin very quick. Having played this with actual people IRL the probability of that happening as often as it does with this game is very low yet in this game opponents win in very few rounds.

Seeing the goal of this game is to drive ad revenue over balanced gameplay or even a less ad driven game experience, I doubt any of it will be fixed therefore I choose to delete this game. Such a shame since their version of solitaire has been their most popular and polished experience.

Zero Stars. Ads galore and the worst cheating ever
What idiot decided to have an ad after every ad, not even every game? I spent more time clicking the millions of x’s than playing the game.

And talk about unfair, holy crap, this is the worst game I’ve ever seen. You’ll play the whole round trying to play a certain combo, and as soon as you give up the bot throws down the one card you needed. Idk how many times I would have two of a card, try for three of a kind, and as soon as I throw one away, would see the other two cards after. I have never hated an app so quickly, I deleted it in less than an hour and will not be redownloading. I didn’t even try tue online multiplayer, but why would I after getting so obviously screwed over by the bots.

I understand there are good hands and bad hands and you’re bound to get a bad hand, but when you lose every round for 8 rounds in a row, losing 115-0, you start to see how it isn’t so random as it claims.
DedeMimi63,
Good, but
I really enjoy this game and play spades by the same company. One thing that’s annoying is there is an add after every hand. Sometimes they are long three part ads and sometimes only five second ads, but the issue is, sometimes the ad will freeze up and you will have to completely close the app and open it again. This happens on both games by this app brand, for lack of a better word. It’s annoying and there’s no way to pay to remove ads. An ad after each hand sometimes makes me just play a little while and switch to another game with fewer ads.
Defancy12,
Almost but not quite…
Most of the
The games I play most are Mobility ware games… But I recently started playing Gin Rummy and Spades with “on-line opponents “. I wonder if they are as frustrated as I am? I don’t mind ads but some of the ads actually crash the game and some will volley the players back and forth from x’s to apps. I’ve been stuck lately with Royal Match ads that can last up to 2-3 minutes just volleying back and forth.
I wouldn’t mind paying a yearly or monthly fee for ad free games. Perhaps advertisers are paying higher prices for longer exposure however I’d rather play somewhere else where game ads aren’t playing with people who consistently FAIL.
Iamkooky9,
Game has a bias
So I’m a very good gin player. Playing for 40 years+. Got to a point in the game where it started taking a point away for a loss and the typical, 4 for a win. The game seem to develop a bias at this point. Almost like it knew my hand. I’m also a statistician. I played 200 games where I purposely made 3 bad moves per hand (of course some hands finished before I could make the 3 bad moves). My win % was 53%. Then I played 200 games where I played normal. My win % was 54%. For a data set of 200 trials each, statistically, one can make the statement “I am 99% confident there is no difference in the results”. This is a perplexing result when one purposefully makes 3 bad moves per game against a very good player. I’ll let the reader assign the conclusion.
Broncosgal2017,
Knock
My understanding is that I downloaded a game called GinRummy in the hopes that people like myself, want to actually get gin. That hasn’t been my experience as the majority of people I play with the game might as well be called knock because that’s all they do. The last game I played about six hours ago, after two cards, the person knocked I had 65 points in my hand didn’t even have a chance to do anything. The point of the game is gin not a knock after you have 10 points or less as standing in your hand. That makes it not fun, but annoying. In the fact that you have to watch an ad after every single hand, that’s even more annoying than people knocking after three cards.
