Phillip Lanos,
Almost there
I love the mobile app. I wish there was a back button when you wanted to change out the aspect ratio to see what you like better.

Also it doesn’t seem to automatically transcribe the text the way it does on the desktop web app but it’s still amazing.
Procrastinating At W0rk,
Needs work. Little issues are a big annoyance
Look: I love headliner, but only on web. The mobile app is a nightmare.

1. No templates like on web. I need to promote my podcast from the road sometimes and this is a bit of an inconvenience but seems like it should be pretty straightforward to add.

2. YOU CAN’T NAME AN AUDIOGRAM ON MOBILE?? Seriously what? This is a massive oversight.

3. When in the process of making an audiogram, there are numbers for the “steps” in the creation process at the top. If you are on step 3, and you want to go back a step, but like me, don’t know better, you will delete all progress made, and it doesn’t give any warning whatsoever. INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING.

4. Very difficult to select the start and stop times you want. You have to tap with pinpoint precision on the text box to change the hours:minutes:seconds, or otherwise move a slider and fast forward or rewind to the approximate region you want. The general process is very counter intuitive.

5. This is more of a complaint about the overall platform, not specific to mobile, but why can’t you go back and edit an audiogram after you make it? I don’t want to redo the whole thing if I make one small mistake. Bad UX.
Magnacarla,
Love this app, BUT
Headliner! I love using your app, but a few things:

1. Would be listening to ads to support, but after sitting through a minute of ads, I didn’t get my second video, requiring me to do it again.

2. Would have upgraded to avoid ads and watermark but you can only do it through the desktop? C’mon, most of us are using this for social, I don’t see why we can’t do this through the mobile app rather than importing all our visuals to desktop then back to mobile.

3. Would be preferred to be able to produce more than one media asset at a time. It’s hard to keep these uniform doing one at a time.

4. The bar for lining up audio is really challenging on mobile. It would be nice to zoom in the same way you can on GarageBand to pinpoint where you’re starting.

Please!
Roneill88,
So close! Difference between online and mobile
Hi! I really do love this concept and use it for my podcast: This Amazing Life. There’s a few specific things that I notice I can’t do on the app the are better online and make a noticeable difference.

1. Progress bar at the bottom looks cleaner and more professional but isn’t a waveform option on the app. The other ones are obtrusive which leads me to point number 2
2. Being able to actually resize and stretch or shrink the waveform instead of just box/rectangle limitations.
3. Once I make a video preview on the app, I can’t go back and edit it.

If I could do these things, I would have given it 5 stars in a heartbeat because of how much time it saves me from going on my computer, uploading audio, going to Canva, finding the image I want, emailing the image and saving it to my computer and on and on.

App is Pretty Bad
So here is the deal. This service is being recommended by some professional people. And looking at the examples on the company page, it is what I am looking for. But…

I just used the app for a test project. Complete dumpster fire UI design. I mean just terrible. Either you need to make it more intuitive for new users or have a tutorial that boots up first to explain your UI logic.

Now is where it gets REALLY bad for the developer: I saw this coming. I saw the reviews that the App UI was bad. Also…my first test was with the free version. Let’s sign up for the pro level and try that.

Well…there doesn’t seem to be any way for me to give you money in the app!!! This is basic business 101 type of stuff: DON’T MAKE IT HARD FOR PEOPLE TO GIVE YOU MONEY!!!!

OMG!!!

I’m literally deleting this app off our system and just going to signup through the website. Where everyone basically agrees the real value is anyway.
mrjones3050,
Amazing, but…..
I love this app. It helps great with marketing myself for voice over. But there’s a glitch. When making an audio gram in portrait mode, I’m unable to adjust the font size.

And that’s a small issue, especially when my post isn’t calling for 38 font. No one does.

Also, we should be able to stretch the font to make it bigger instead just relying on the size bar. That’s all. Overall, great app.

Mobile Version Is Inferior to Desktop
Headliner is a great resource and tool. However, the mobile version of the app is inferior to the desktop version for a variety of reasons.

For example, you can’t edit a video on mobile. You can’t add transcriptions on mobile for subtitle changes. So essentially, you can’t do much on mobile except create a video that is incredibly difficult to time correctly (much easier on desktop).

The desktop version is great but the mobile version leaves much to be desired.
Melody BDCR,
Needs Certain Functionalities But Okay Overall
I like this app but to love it we should be able to type in the HEX, RGB, or CKMY color codes directly for any color customizations instead of a slider. This way everything will be on brand without having to guesstimate whether it’s the right color for the brand. Just saying.

Also - there are no instructions. You cannot delete the videos that you no longer need.

Just lacks overall functions needed to be user friendly. Looks nice but that’s about it. 😕 I hope they upgrade some features.
Kouchiedohne,
It’s getting there...
Although this is a good app, i cannot use it. I had to delete it simply because it doesn’t give me the option of deleting the video off my phone. The videos just kind of sit there collecting space and space/storage is extremely important to me. Others than that, I enjoyed the time I was able to play with it.
Must Exit,
Such a nifty tool!
The Headliner app, as well as their web interface are so useful. The templates and features make it very easy to put together podcast clips.

The app makes things much quicker, but the web version has more ways to tweak things, add transcription, edit, etc.

Based on the amount of time you have, you can use either one.

I use Headliner to promote The Feel Good Factor (my podcast) on Instagram, as well as messaging apps. And I highly recommend it to podcasters and anyone who wants to quickly put together neatly done videos to promote audio clips of any sort. The potential is endless!
