Easy , foolproof, convenient
I ordered the tests from the USPS website last week. I didn’t hear anything and waited for days. I was worried that I wouldn’t get the test in time to be able to get accurate results, but the test arrived today after a week. I still have symptoms. Today is Tuesday 6/28 and I started symptoms on 6/21 or 6/22 and ordered tests right away. I couldn’t go anywhere to test since I felt so sick (and I am vaccinated). I found a few local places like CVS and Walgreens, but no available test times for a week. I wanted to know.
When my test arrived, it was 2 tests inside a box. The box contained a pamphlet that explained everything. There was an app to download (this app), which took seconds to set up and register. The app walked me through the process with step by step instructions and videos !! It even had a timer on the app which you need a 15 minute timer to read the results, and it provided a timer for you. Once complete, you are able to submit your results to the CDC and even your doctor, right from the app. That makes it so easy! Everything was well thought of and I couldn’t be happier about the process! I was rather intimidated at first and scared, but they held my hand through it all. Lol. Thank you!!

Easy To Follow
I recently tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday 8/14. As of today, I tested negative with minimal symptoms so thank goodness! Using the self-test covid kit was super simple and the video instructions were quick and straight to the point. I had no problem following each step. I would say it takes 5 minutes to go through each steps. Final step is waiting 15 minutes for your results - It gives you detailed information about what to look for and how to choose the best results based off your covid test card. Overall, I would recommend using the self-test covid kit if you feel you may be having symptoms of covid. It’s quick, pain less, and you’re in the comfort of your home which is a plus. Definitely give this a try!

Problems with reporting to CDC
App works well for performing the test, but the results reporting has some problems.
It asks what symptoms you have. No symptoms is an option, but after answering “No symptoms” it insists on asking when the symptoms started. “Unknown” is an allowed answer, but I don’t have symptoms. It isn’t like I don’t know when my nonexistent symptoms started.
Until today this wasn’t a problem, but at the end when I press the report results button I get an error message that there are problems connecting to the site or something like that. Ok, fine but there seems to be no way to get beyond that screen. I need to take a test once a month because of a meeting I attend and don’t know if that app will work next time or if I’ll still be stuck. No a real problem since I can perform the test without the app, but this is a review of the app not the test
PyromamaK,
Works just fine for me
I am with others who don’t understand the highly agitated and negative reviews. In regards to the videos versus the printed instructions, I used the in-app videos to help me understand it better as I learn easier by demonstration. I watched them thru carefully and had no trouble following along. As far as the app requesting contact details, maybe instead of griping about it you could ask yourself why they ask. Do you gripe when a dr wants your contact info? Maybe it’s to keep track of how often the same person tests positive, if any, (aka contact tracing). Maybe because it’s a day ending in the letter ‘y.’ 🤷‍♀️ You’ve gone thru all this to take the test, what do you think is going to happen, that the CDC will show up at your door in HazMat suits to cart you away to the Place of No Return? My only complaint is the video voice itself 😂.
FrenchMonkey,
Easy to Use
I found the app easy to use. I watched the videos first. It’s a simple process but it made me feel more comfortable, especially the swabbing part. The instructions include the steps for the test, few though they are. They are just detailed enough. For example, if the reagent liquid isn’t sufficient, don’t use the test. I would not know something like that. It has a timer and the ability to add a calendar reminder for taking the second test. I actually read the terms of service, which are simple enough for a lay person to comprehend. There is no question that information is shared whether you chose to self-report to the CDC and/or a health provider or not. That is to be expected, given what the app is for.
IrishEyes720,
Test is easy to understand and complete.
The only problem with the test was that there was not enough fluid left to reach the bottom line. I had to swipe the fluid from another test kit to complete the process. If you follow the app, the test is easy to take. The instructions are clear and user friendly. The video in the app was thoughtfully created and it stopped after each step or series of steps so the user has plenty of time to complete the steps. You can also go back if you realize one of your answers was incorrect. Try to get tests that have been recently made and don’t horde them. The fluid evaporates despite being in a sealed container, wrapped in cellophane, and placed in a sealed box.
Constantly driving somewhere,
Very disappointing. ......
I downloaded this to report positive results From the week prior but there was no way to change the date that I actually tested positive. I read the instructions that came with the box and took the test just fine, I didn’t realize until now that I had to report it in order for me to get time off of work so I downloaded the app to do just that, and come to find out there is no way to edit the date that the positive test was taken.

Furthermore after reading through some of these reviews it seems some people had to pay for this app I couldn’t find where it said that you had to pay for the app I just downloaded it and now I’m stuck wondering if I just paid for some thing that I just deleted off my phone really aggravating.

Would really like to know if it was just me unable to find how to edit it and whether or not I actually paid for some thing.
Wordragon,
Good, but has a minor hitch in its giddy-up
Excellent app, really, for the test part. Clear, easy, simple instructions with good graphics.

When submitting results to the CDC, though, a page asks you to pick from a list of symptoms you’re experiencing. It doesn’t give a separate “click here if no symptoms, it lists “No symptoms” as a symptom in the list. So when you pick it and click “next”, it sends you to a “when did your symptoms start” date-picker. If you have no symptoms this looks like a dead end. Now I’ve forgotten what the choice was that let me finish — that’ll be your challenge, if you have no symptoms. A puzzle for ya!
kittenmittens1126,
downloading an app is ridiculous
i’ve had to test for covid multiple times and this is the first one i’ve taken that refused to supply instructions and forced you to download an app. what if i didn’t have a smart phone? what is i was elderly? what if i lived in a place without service? this test and app is classist and ageist. not only does it force you to download an app, it makes you create an account using your email/phone number. so not only are they getting money from you buying the test, they’re making money from you downloading their app, AND most likely selling your information. NOT A FAN. i never ever rate apps and i never complain but this was completely out of hand and ridiculous. felt like i was on the intellilink episode of south park. just provide written instructions in the packaging!!!!!!
Qqpwpqi,
Works as designed. BADLY designed.
The test kit came with a perfectly cromulent set of instructions in the box, which we followed. At the end of our testing cycle, we opened the app only to find you have to watch un-skippable videos for each step and then run out a 15 minute timer before it will let you upload your results.
On the perfectly understandable instructions printed on the paper that came in the box, it warns that if you wait till more than 30 minutes after the test you may get a false positive. But if you didn’t do the test 100% in tandem with this brilliant app, there is literally no way to not finish more than 30 minutes in.
You guys really need to make the videos and the timer skippable.
