elemence,
Good… but a little buggy
This app is meant to deliver health information based on your results from blood tests, fitness watch syncing, and DNA test results. It does this quite well in my experience. It syncs regularly with my garmin watch to track sleep and activity data. After getting blood results, it displays the info in easy to read graphs and charts. I uploaded my DNA results from 23 and me and it also took that into account.

My main issue with the app is that it has problems starting. You have to sign in every time (not bad in itself since you are looking at private health information). When signing in, it takes a while before the app loads, and often “times out” and I have to sign in again.

I figured this would be a problem they would fix but it’s been over a year that I have this problem and it still hasn’t been resolved.
Dr. Tech,
Updated: back to a 5 star
My issue has been fixed (Thank You). Still hoping to see support for Apple Watch in the very near future but I will still give it a 5 star review for being very useful and personalized.

*** Original Review ***
I signed up for Inside tracker in early November 2021. I had my blood drawn at a local lab and few days later I had my results (values for 43 biomarkers) and a personalized list of recommendations for improving the biomarkers that needed improvement. For 3 months I faithfully tracked which of the 20 items on my checklist I did each day to improve my overall wellness. This system worked great through Sunday, Feb 6. However, since Monday, February 7, the app will not allow me to check anything off my daily list in spite of the app reminding me every evening to log in and update my day’s activities. I reported this to InsideTracker support on Monday and to their credit, they quickly responded with a couple of things for me to try. I tried them and nothing worked. I sent them screenshots and have emailed them daily since then but I have not received any response since then. This app is 100% useless until they get around to fixing it.
Screw these review nicknames,
Bad App, Good Insights
The science-back data is helpful and provides nice insights and action items for your daily health. However, they really need someone to relook at the app. There are either missing or poorly thought out features: 1. FaceID/password needs to go. I don’t want to log in every single time I’m opening the app to track my day. It’s annoying and unnecessary. Imagine having to log in every time you want to add something to your calendar. 2. Offline capability. App isn’t functional in places where I might use it w/o internet - e.g., plane, hiking, skiing, etc. 3. Buggy. One bug that bothers me the most is when I check off a goal and then go back to the app after an hour, and I’m logged off and the goal is unchecked. If I can’t trust that the app will record my progress, what’s the point? I emailed them 6 months ago about these issues (among others) and stopped using the app for a while. Came back and nothing has been fixed. We’ll see if they survive. Based on the volume of promos/discounts they spam me with, looks like they are desperately trying to keep users.

Solid App
Overall, I really like this app. The info is organized in a way that makes it easy to use. One thing I really like is the continual improvements and upgrades to the app. For example, I find the pro tips have greatly improved from their initial iteration in the app. I personally don’t like having to sign in every single time, but I understand many would like their private health data password protected (maybe a setting option?). Check ins are a great way to hold yourself accountable and work towards the specific goal you’ve set. As someone who has used the app for a few years now, I do look forward to more actions to choose from. There IS a wide variety, but I’m always looking for new strategies. If you use InsideTracker for blood testing I highly recommend supplementing testing with this app!
Rkmstruna,
Ground hog day
Let me start by saying the concept is great, but there are some issues. My wife and I decided to try InsideTracker after we saw that InsideTracker integrates with Garmin Connect and imports our DNA results from 23 and Me. As longtime users of these two products we thought InsideTracker provided a meaningful way to leverage our DNA and environmental data. Unfortunately, two days after using the app the integration with Garmin broke. I’ve reached out to tech support. After reinstalling the app and reconnecting to Garmin it still doesn’t work. Tech support said they would have to do more research and would be back to me in 24 hours. That was three days ago, nothing but crickets. InsideTracker continues to provide advise based on July 4th exercise and sleep. I’m literally reliving July 4th over and over.
AZerrenner,
InsideTracker has changed my life!
I have been using InsideTracker for over a year now, and it has changed my life! Being in endurance athlete at the elite level, I thought that I was healthy and fine before as my doctor told me I was. Once I got my first set of test results back, I found out I was deficient in a lot of areas and too high and others. Bu using the very helpful resources that inside tracker provides in order to help these deficiencies or levels that were too high, my training and overall performance and functionality as a human being has improved immensely! The app only makes it that much easier, as all of my results, recommendations, and more are in one area. The app is extremely easy to use, And never gives me any glitchy difficulties!
JasonR,
Possibly the worst app in the app store?
I bought a plan with InsideTracker. I got my results and opened the app. The results are displayed in a easy to understand way. But so far I have no more information than a yearly physical from my doc.
I go to generate plan and I’m given a screen telling me it’s working, but it’s not.
I called customer support and they eventually tell me to use the desktop version. There is a button that says “change my goals.” From there I get a warning that if I change my plan, I’ll lose all my data. The customer support tells me to do that. It worked! But then when I went back to look at my report, it was gone. So now I had to go back through “change my goals.” I don’t want to change my goals. I want to see my goals. But that’s not an option. Meanwhile all of this is done on the desktop because the app doesn’t work.
This whole product has been a waste of time and money.
Erik Kugler CPA,
Great idea
At first I got alot of benefit, I uploaded my DNA and blood test results and got some effective advice, found out that I had borderline high cholesterol and lowered it thanks to the app and its recommendations.

Then I wanted to go further and was looking at fitbit but I got a Oura ring, and then found out that it doesn’t integrate, and there is no option to manually punch in the data points. Seems like a manual input for sleep data shouldn’t be that tough to program in.

And then, for the last month, the app was working very slowly when selecting daily tasks, and now I can’t select any at all, it simply stopped working and I’ve even deleted the app and uploaded it again, still nothing.

Finally I went to LabCorp for another draw and uploaded the results, but it’s still not updated in the app after a week, so I think the app just stopped working, though it still sends me reminders to check in, but the functionality in the app won’t allow for me to check in anymore.

It was very useful for the first few months though, I’m sure I must have lowered my biological age.
ksh47,
Please fix the launch experience
The app itself isn’t too bad. I’m sure it’s a small team supporting it, and overall, I think the user experience is better than I was expecting given the reviews. However, it is very frustrating how difficult it is to launch the app. You are quite frequently logged out and need to log back in again. Often times this causes the app to freeze and you need to quit and re-launch the app in order to get in. Overall, the experience is very slow for launching the app. This is frustrating because I’m trying to use it to regularly track my actions throughout the day. If the launch and login experience were improved, my rating of the app would improve drastically.
Alex Oliveira Free Spirit,
Many app issues and a very slow customer service
Look, I am fascinated with the platform and the idea behind it. I’ve faced issues since day one. If you have an issue with the app or a question - brace yourself - it might take a while to get an answer. With luck, you'll get a solution afterward. This is paid solution. These folks and handling it as if it is a free platform or an MVP. I hope someone from the upper management reads it, if the other users are having issues like I have you will be seeing a lot of churns soon. I wanted to buy more services, like the DNA, but the way it's going I am not sure. Finally, I am not saying that should not buy it, but be aware they're fixing the airplane while it's flying, and the customer services love an automatic answer to prevent their SLA be violated.
