Description

Levels helps you see how food affects your health. Are you fueling correctly?

Your metabolic health regulates your energy levels, appetite, sleep, weight, mood, long-term health, and more. Levels helps you optimize these with real-time feedback using data from continuous glucose monitors (CGMs).

Levels is backed by advisors who are key leaders in metabolic health: Dr. Robert Lustig; Dr. Mark Hyman; Dr. Sara Gottfried; Ben Bikman, PhD; David Sinclair, PhD; Dom D’Agostino, PhD; Dr. Molly Maloof; Dr. David Perlmutter; Dr. Terry Wahls, & Dr. Gerald Shulman; and was co-founded by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Casey Means.

LEVELS CHANGES HOW PEOPLE LIVE THEIR LIVES:

- “I’m far more aware of my body and its reactions to food, exercise, sleep, and stress. I feel better when I have more food choices than when I was limiting myself too much.” —Laurel Touby, 59, New York

- “I was focused on course correcting my dietary and lifestyle choices to improve my metabolic health, but I realized very quickly that it was much more than that. This is not about deprivation and what I cannot eat.” —Celia Chen, 49, Los Angeles

- “It’s the combination of intermittent fasting and using the CGM that has accelerated my metabolic health optimization. I finally feel like I’ve cracked the code on my body.” —Chris Wise, 42, Los Angeles

Everybody has health goals. Whether you’re tuning your diet, optimizing your exercise, or just trying to stay healthy, monitoring your blood glucose with Levels can help—you’ll finally be able to unlock what will work best for YOUR body.

SaltyDynamics,
One of my Favorite apps
I started using Levels in March 2021 and I keep coming back to them each time I compare it to similar companies. I recommend the app to all of my clients and family. Levels seems to do a great job listening to their customers who always seem to be in the hunt for more information and seeing it in a way that makes it easy to understand. They have made updates that just makes the app better each time and makes me excited to use the additional resources. The constant feedback from the app has been great, because it is feedback on the actual food you are eating and what may have caused any fluctuations and they are always putting out great articles as well. I highly recommend using Levels, it has been life changing and has helped me create a healthier lifestyle.
Levels Customer,
This app is not very good
Here are my current problems: 1) 75% of the time I have to close the app and reopen it to get it to sync and add the newest glucose data. This is the app’s primary function and it fails. 2) When I first got this app, there was all sorts of helpful information and I could easily and intuitively access the educational content. Now, there are no articles accessible through the app, so it fails in educating users who are trying to improve their health via glucose stabilization. Interestingly, the description for the app still indicates that articles are available on the app. This is incorrect. 3) The insights tab tells me literally nothing helpful and doesn’t seem to have any information for many of the very common foods logged…so it’s pointless? 4) There’s no way to get back to the original functional app. When I wrote to customer service asking how to restore functionality, I was told that I could turn off this new version in settings. That option is not available in my settings, so the customer service help was completely incorrect. I would love the option to return to the original app but this is actually not available. 5) to find the sync button, you have to go to settings. Shouldn’t the main function of the app be readily available in the app instead of hidden? Not intuitive or user friendly. I will continue to use the app because I’m using the corresponding glucose monitor but will be looking for a better alternative.
N10649,
Glitchy app with limited functionality
The daily notes and articles disappear daily so there is no record to go back in. No matter how wonderful the advice and admittedly it’s pretty good at times in 24 hours it falls off your timeline so if you don’t take notes it’s all wasted. The food record is tedious and limited unlike loseit or mothers and there is no funtiinal way to record fasting other than to make it look like a missing space in the record. There is no way to search the record for events like sleeping, or waking. The data is always current so the benefit of trends and instight over time is lost to the person who could use it. I could be wrong on everything and if I am then the app is tedious and not nearly as intuitive as it could be.

This is fun and barely more interesting that deacoms basic stuff. The real benefit to levels is the access to the Dexcom without the dr hassle over insurance and waiting until someone is buckling under the burden of diabetes and insulin management. Even with cash pay doctors are reluctant.

Levels App Personalized Insights Are Transformative
This app has transformed my relationship with food, exercise, sleep, and stress management. In real time, I can watch how these factors impact my metabolic health. Each individual responds differently, and Levels highlights my own unique response in these areas.

For example, half a banana will cause a glucose spike for me, but may have no measured impact for you! Also, when my sleep quality or quantity is crummy, my glucose response to the exact same meal compared to a day after a great night of sleep is markedly different! Plus, who would have thought a brief stroll around the neighborhood after a meal could blunt the raise in glucose after a more carb heavy meal? I never would have had this level of personal insight into my health without Levels.

The app is easy to navigate (seriously, so intuitive!), and my gold star craving, achiever heart loves the meal scores - it provides motivation to get consistently high scores! It gives tips and tricks based on the meals logged (such as best options when ordering at Chipotle). I also like that the app features other healthy habit trackers.

I’m excited to continue improving my metabolic health using the Levels app. It is a game changer!
island trader,
Great App! Suggestion if low glucose alarm is an issue.
Overall an excellent app. I especially like the new “Stable Hours” indicator and how it tracks spikes in your glucose. The G3 app alarm however drove my wife crazy as it would wake her up at night ( My glocose would sometimes dip while I sleep). My solution was to put my phone into Airplane mode the prior night at about 3 am to suppress the alarms while we sleep (which turns off the Bluetooth). Alternatively you could just turn off Bluetooth. The G3 and Levels app restored connection to the sensor once Bluetooth was restored in the morning, and in fact was able to retrieve up to the last 3 hours and 45 minutes of data from the sensor/ transmitter. Occasionally if in the morning my connection is not restored I find that I just need to turn my Bluetooth off and then on again which fixes it.
IndigoCCB,
Seeing my levels is so helpful
I was curious about health anyway, but when my fasting glucose started creeping up over the past two years, even without eating sweets or refined carbs. I sought a better way to understand my patterns. My Doctor told me to increase my exercise, which was already 1-2 hours per day and that made no sense at all. Wearing this monitor has helped me understand how I’m sensitive to some foods and how supportive fresh vegetables and frequent walks can be. I’ve also been able to experiment with fasting and know it’s stabilizing for my numbers. Levels has some great tools, articles and recipes that keep me in constant improvement mode. It’s worth paying out of pocket for this valuable and personified information.
Mona Sharma.,
Game changer for health optimization
As a Nutritionist, I tried Levels so that I could refer my clients to a resource to support health optimization and weight loss. After months of trial, I was able to fine tune my already healthy diet to boost my energy, mood, sleep, hormones and even some weight loss. Foods I thought were good for me, we’re actually messing with my glucose levels! There is no ONE perfect diet out there, so having a science driven APP like this is a resource to figure out what foods and when to eat is right for your unique constitution! Now all my clients use Levels when we start a program together. This helps me fast track customizing the right foods for them, and educate them on metabolic health which we now know is a key factor for health and longevity.
Anna J Mac,
Great health tech
Wearing a glucose monitor made me realize that often times my "crashes" in energy were due to spikes/crashes in my blood glucose. Knowing this, I was keen to stabalize my blood glucose levels. This Levels app (& glucose monitor) allows me to monitor how various foods and activities impact my blood glucose so that I can make more informed decsions.

For example - I learned that if I am doing a lot of cardio, my glucose levels are much more stable. I also learned that the salad in my cafeteria, bananas and oatmeal all cause a huge spikes in my blood glucose.

I recommend this app/ continuous glucose monitoring to anyone interested in optimizing their energy levels.
Not Reviewer 2,
App is currently a rather useless brick
So far the app hasn’t been working at all for me. I downloaded it, followed the instructions to set up accounts in both levels and libre, applied the sensor, and now I’m just waiting for it to say it’s connected. It just says connection pending, endlessly, since I applied it and set everything up four days ago. You’re also supposed to be able to click to connect to Apple health, but that button just doesn’t work at all either. I’m guessing this is a new version release issue, but for anyone who recently purchased a CGM and a levels membership (and maybe anyone who is having to switch a sensor now too), the system is a bust. Hopefully levels will send out a new CGM to affected users who lost time due to these issues and push back our membership end dates, but so far no news on that front or a timeline for fixes.
redlulu,
Wonky
There have been so many changes on the app. Hard to just see straightforward info. And the screen is busy. Too many things going on. Entering food has become hard because of all the stuff on the screen - it doesn’t all fit and so you have a tiny little section of the screen to enter the data crowded by stuff you don’t need. The “game” is meaningless and I completely ignore it. Takes up real estate on the screen. Just show us the numbers and make it easier to enter meals. Also, the “strenuous exercise” is never defined. Doesn’t seem to matter what I do - that never gets checked if it reads from your activity on Apple Watch.

New updates: I spent 10 minutes trying to enter a meal. There is a significant delay on the app responding to input. Get rid of the badge game thing!
