kcnobody,
Great App for bar path, side by side with graph would be awesome
As the title says. I love this app for the bar path tracing.

I'm starting to use the graphs more to help work on my speed though. It would make it MUCH easier to see how the data correlates with the bar path and video of each lift if they were both displayed side by side (instead of toggling between the two).

Other than that though, great app!

Path Track Problems
Okay maybe I'm not using it properly (though it's hard to know since the online help link in the app returns a blank page so there are no available instructions on how to use the app as far as I could find) but when you try to set the path trace, in my case for squats, if you set the circle that tracks the bar on the end of the bar while it's racked, it doesn't follow the bar back when you lift it off the rack and step back to perform the movement. Zero traces. So then I tried setting the circle approximately where the bar will be after I've gotten into starting position. That doesn't really work either, I get a few partial bar path traces but only halfway or so through the movement's range of motion. The bottom of the movement I get nothing. It would make WAY more sense if one could scroll the video to the point where one is in the starting position, where it could be paused, and THEN set the bar trace circle. Again maybe it's operator error but the app doesn't seem to do what I expected. And I paid for the full functionality so I'm not too happy.
Cassterr,
Perfect tracker
A barbel velocity tracker is about $500. I always wanted to start tracking velocity but I'm just a poor lifter. This thing is awesome. The fact that it tracks barbell path, force etc etc just adds to how much you can track and improve without counting solely on weight and reps.
I was skeptical that for $3 bucks you'd get all this info. I'm impressed.
I agree with the other review that the option of seeing multiple screens simultaneously would be nice but not a big deal. One other thing that I would like to see is the capability of sorting new videos on top and also creating folders to keep each lift separate but again. No big deal. These are minor options that are easy to add at some point. The important thing is the tracker and It works. Great job!

A lot of issues
I got the paid version of this because the first time I used it it worked great! But now it’s the WORST! It has serious issues tracking the weight. Sometimes it just tracks random things. If you’re recording yourself it barely ever works. You can’t move the weight at all before you start lifting. Do NOT walk in front of the camera. It SAYS you have the option to edit the video down before it traces but it has never let me. I’ll get it all set up and then it doesn’t edit the time down at all. Also, if you use the front facing camera, the file ALWAYS becomes corrupted. I still use it because I paid for it and I at least now have all my videos in the same place. But honestly the app isn’t great and definitely don’t pay for it.
AuCoryBorealis,
Intuitive and helpful app
I tried two different bar-tracing apps. Both were free, but the other one crashed on me as soon as it tried processing my video. This one worked like a champ! I will say, at first the paths weren’t very accurate but I realized it was my fault. When it asks to mark the weight, I first minimized the guide to align with the bar itself. This didn’t work. HOWEVER, when I modified the guide and started aligning it to encircle the entire diameter of the weight plate, it worked perfectly! Now I have tons of insight into my lifting form. Great little app!
Mejensen89,
This app will make you a better coach.
This app is great. It can highlight technique issues and with the data in the pro version you can see force production issues. It makes identifying bar path and strength issues a breeze and is the most cost effective too see bar speed approximations. Using it in practice let's me give athletes more accurate and precise feedback, which helps everyone get better faster.
Denver5oh,
Big fix
I have been a CrossFit and USA weightlifting coach for about 10 years. I have used this app for years and it has been great. It seems to have a bug that needs fixed in that the in app camera will not record video. It is now only allowing review of external videos. Tried contacting App support, but it is not connecting.
DLunnster,
Quite terrific
I am thrilled to be able to see all the myriad of things that I am doing wrong on a clean. It's shocking actually. This app will help me fix my clean step by step by step.

I also upgraded to the in-app purchase if only to get a little cash heading to the developers. Thank You!
teamoptions,
SO CLOSE to perfect
I love love love this app. I think it's a great tool. My only complaint is that I wish you could let us change the trace color. Where we bench has a white wall behind it so you can't really see the line after the rep finishes. Otherwise, it's perfect! Thank you!!!
J0nathan,
Doesn't work on multiple rep sets
I've tried this app on deadlifts and bench press, both recording my the phone camera and recording through the app itself. It works ok with tracking the bar path for a single rep, maybe two reps. But on the third rep on up, the center mark moves off of the original position and no longer tracks the bar path correctly.
It's an ok app to see bar path on heavy singles, but don't rely on it for any more than that.
