Only good when they work
I’ve had to send my earbuds back multiple times due to them not working. I treat them very well, but the sound was continuously dropping off in either the right or left earbud. I had to send them back twice for this issue. I’m on my third pair and the right earbud is now defective (currently on hold waiting for customer support as I write this). Besides the sound dropping out in the right earbud there is now a rapid clicking noise whenever I open the Jabra app. So why did I give them any more than one star? Because when they do work they’re great, but as of now they’ve just become a hassle and it seems like I might have to go with the stupid looking AirPods.
Staskerz,
Buds and app work perfectly for me...
- I've been using my Jabra Elite Sport buds for a few years w/complete satisfaction. The hardware is great - I've never had a single problem. The buds fit my ears perfectly - the most comfortable (and compact) of the several I tried when shopping for a pair. I find the sound quality to be great, regardless of the few reviews I've just scanned that criticize it. The most impressive thing for me is the fitness app - I find it to actually be is best in class for my needs!👍 I find it surprising that the app provides much better analytics with the workout data provided by the earbuds than apps that are designed specifically for exercise including the Apple Activity, Nike Run, Strava and Under Armour MapMyFitness apps (all of which I've used)! I look forward to future enhancements to it - not b/c it's lacking but so it can further surpass my expectations...
waterspanker,
Great app with just a couple needed upgrades
Not sure why people are having issues with the earbuds themselves or the app. Maybe cross check ear fitting to get accurate heart rate tread outs? Anyway- not sure why people are mixing reviews for the device with the app itself. The interface and ability to customize the workout dashboard is really informative and versatile. I also like being able to auto play music or shut it off. Other features such as voice queues and “hear-thru” are accessible in both the app and the device itself. As for upgrades- it would be great to have this app accessible via Apple Watch. Another awesome upgrade would be Apple Health integration as a registered source. Other than that, it works great for me!

Sound and Pairing Issues
I bought these ultra-expensive Jabra Elite Sport earbuds and immediately was not impressed with the sound quality. It sounds thin and not punchy, with a pathetic bass or Low frequency experience. When I opened the App hoping to solve the problem, the basic equaliser did nothing significant and the advance equaliser just made the sound muffled and distorted when I upped the low frequencies. Definitely not what I expected from in ear headphones.

What is worse is barely 2 months after using these rather uncomfortable buds, the left ear bud has stopped working. I wrote to Jabra customer care one week ago and have heard nothing back.

If you can, stick to the AirPods. They are the only pair of Bluetooth headphones that have not failed me in terms of reliability, comfort and sound quality, and I have tried many - only issue is their inability to deal with water.

Good earphones with great app
I’ve my pulse for a few years, I’m glad that they continue to get firmware updates. The app has come a long way and has great training features, specially for running. I specially love the ability to schedule on the go updates as well as on demand updates by pressing on the left earbud.
Love the detailed analysis of workouts, most apps require a monthly subscription to provide the same type of data.

While I still wish one could create an account for the app I’m glad to see that they’ve incorporated the ability to automatically share with Strava and Endomondo.

Need HR compatibility with Apple Health app
Generally speaking, I like the information that’s available in the Jabra app. However, it would be nice if I could write HR to Apple’s app or sync with other apps like Nike+ Run Club or Garmin connect. Because of the total lack of 3rd party integration, I actually wear a wrist-based HR monitor so that I can get a live read-out on my Garmin VivoActive. That’s a shame since I have HR available with my headphones.

I kept this rating at 3 stars because this is the best app I have for tracking VO2 max. If this app had better integration, I’d give it 5 stars. Also, in the app it says you can back up as a part of the iPhone backup, but I personally lost all of my data even though my phone was backed up and I restored from backup.
GoHox12,
Awesome earbuds, embarrassingly simple equalizer
I have no use for the fitness portion of the app so I can't comment on that, even though it makes up 95% of it. My problem is with the equalizer which is as basic as it gets. Compared to the look and feel as well as functionality of Jaybird's app, Jabra's looks like something out of dawn of smartphones. The customization of the equalizer is soooo basic it really limits sound quality that could be on par with Jaybird's. I'm going they do a major overhaul. Another issue I have is the custom settings don't apply if you don't connect the earbuds to your phone. So if I connect them directly to my Apple watch the sound is set to the default setting which is flat across the board. That takes away sound quality, functionally and overall experience.
Flaherty34695,
Need American English Accent
In America, trying to understand a British accent is terrible- especially for number pronunciation. That defect should be fixed NOW. IF YOU FIX THIS FLAW, MY RATING WILL BE IMPROVED. I'm FAR FROM THE ONLY PERSON COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS OVERSIGHT.

TAKE A LESSON FROM FUJIFILM WITH THEIR CAMERA SOFTWARE. ADD FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS TO YOUR EXISTING HARDWARE. ONCE THEY ADOPTED THIS APPROACH, WORD SPREAD FAST AND SALES WENT THROUGH THE ROOF. HECK, MY X-T1 Camera was improved so substantially, they had to write a new user manual to cover all the new features in their many firmware updates. Learn from that and you will sell your high-end products like crazy and your brand name will mean something. Take care of your existing customers and they will be loyal to the Jabra brand.
d'Armond,
Potential but not there yet
I like the potential of this app, but there are some key gaps that make it unusable. My training plan involves alternating days of running and weight training and a recovery day. But you can't add weight training to a plan, and the plan forces you to select four workouts, so I can't use any of the training features.

Most of the exercises I do are not available and there's no way to add new ones. So I can't do the cross-training workouts. Either significantly expand the library of exercises or let us add our own.

Minor annoyance: very often when I'm using the headphones the app tells me that they're not connected so I can't adjust settings.

Disappointing considering how expensive the hardware is.

UPDATE: One year later and none of the problems have been addressed. No Health Kit integration means I have to use another app to collect my stats. No Apple Watch integration. No way to edit workout data after a run. Great hardware severely limited by the software. Since Jabra seems unresponsive to customer feedback I’m reducing my rating.
Review-y McReviewFace,
App/headphones don’t connect to new phone
Finally upgraded from an iPhone 6 to an 11, and these pricey headphones don’t connect. Idk if it’s not used to something that’s not my old phone or what but I did what I used to hundreds of times before and nothing. Followed the app instructions precisely, nothing. The app itself is lame, for the Elite Sports the buttons aren’t easily distinguishable until you use it for a while (they’re both circles, why?) and unless the ear bud is drilled into your ear canal they move around if you fidget with the buttons. On their own they used to be good if not great headphones to work out with, now they’re completely unusable. Thanks for making me blow money on a new set of workout ear buds Jabra
