Description

The smash hit texting adventure with millions of worldwide fans is now on Arcade – get lost in space with Taylor as you help navigate the deadly universe of Lifeline!

“I’ve played many games that I find engrossing, but Lifeline may be one of the first that changed the way I thought about my daily routine, which leapt off the screen and became a part of my lived experience.” - Eli Cymet, Gamezebo

Lifeline is a playable, branching story of survival against all odds. You will help Taylor make life or death decisions, and face the consequences together.

Acclaimed writer Dave Justus (Fables: The Wolf Among Us) weaves a gripping interactive story through the aftermath of a crash landing on an alien moon. Taylor is stranded, the rest of the crew are dead or missing, and Taylor’s communicator can only reach you.

Lifeline pioneered a new narrative experience enabled by modern devices. This story plays out in real time as Taylor works to stay alive, notifications deliver new messages throughout your day. Keep up as they come in, or catch up later when you’re free.

Or, dive in and jump back to earlier points in the story, and see what happens when you make a different choice. Simple actions can have a profound effect. Complete any single path to restart the story and unlock this mode.

Lifeline is a deep, immersive story of survival and perseverance, with many possible outcomes. Taylor is relying on YOU.

You can play Lifeline in any of these languages:
- English
- French
- German
- Russian
- Simplified Chinese
- Japanese
- Spanish
- Korean

“I felt an immediate attachment to a fictional character pinging me from a strange galaxy to my wearable.” - Luke Hopewell, Gizmodo Australia

“For a few brief hours I cared – really cared – about the fate of a completely fictional character. I don’t think any other game I’ve played has made me feel that way before.” - Matt Thrower, PocketGamer

Story_Writer_Sof,
Favorite scifi game!
I just started playing Lifeline+ yesterday, but I’m really enjoying it! Yes, there are times when Taylor is busy, but overall it can be really flexible to your schedule. Including parts whenever he goes to sleep, I assume it’s real time-either the next day or in 8hours or something, but still, it’s an amazing game! I like how it’s actually interactive then rather just Taylor sending messages and “talking to himself(or herself?).” If this was any type of game—preferably something like a Nintendo, Xbox, PlayStation, etc.—I would for sure play it. And even more so, I can install these games on my Apple Watch! Even if I don’t have my phone on me, I can still play Lifeline on my phone. Since this was a free Apple Arcade game, of course I installed it. However, I would plan on purchasing the other games! Definitely recommend to people who enjoy sci-fi. And props to the developers who made this game for us to enjoy. If this was again, a mobile game that showed Taylor’s point of view and where he was, I would definitely install it, regardless if it was purchasable or free.
Iowa.TD,
It’s okay
It is somewhat a real time game where you have to wait while Taylor navigates this far away space rock. I like the pacing personally as it wouldn’t be fun to sit down and do it all at once. Suspense builds and you hope that you gave good advice to your new wayward friend. Taylor almost always listens to your advice but sometimes they don’t which I appreciate since you’re not playing the character, you’re only talking to them.

I made it to the end on the first try, but Taylor then died due to a moment where I don’t say the “right thing”. I was pretty bummed about that because it’s something I wouldn’t say for personal reasons. I don’t want to spoil it by giving more detail here, but I know I’m not alone with that thought. I felt like physical choices should matter more than saying the right thing.

While the story was pretty engaging, the end fell flat and was a bit cheesy. After it ends you get go back and see what would have happened if you chose different options, which I really appreciate. But it turns out most of the choices I made were of little consequence and it was also going to end in either Taylor’s death or the way it ended with Taylor surviving. I did still recommend the game to my husband and I’m excited to hear his take on it.
ExpirationDaD,
GREAT SCI-Fi GETAWAYS
Great game that is different from majority of games. Basically, it’s a “choose your own adventure” game. However, it moves at a faster pace. It’s a great getaway when you have 2-5 minutes here or there. That’s what I love about it the most. I cannot pick it up for 5 days & be right back in the mix of the adventure, & nothing is lost. Another great point, you can work at your own pace. Yes, you do have times when “Taylor is busy.” However, I’ve found it doesn’t interrupt ME wanting to PLAY. The pacing works perfect for my lifestyle. I always have a “main game” & “secondary game.” Naming the games this way has nothing to do w/ how good the games are. On the other hand, I’m currently playing “Charrua Soccer” as my primary & “Lifeline+” as my secondary. Both games are 5 STAR games. So, anywho, play this game. It’s awesome. Also, you’re reading. Reading is a great thing. Remember, always play games & always vote, just never vote for an idiot that has the initials DT!! ✌️
DerpyTurtle2,
AMAZING but…
It is an amazing game it is beyond what I thought it uses real time like it is a real out of this universe conversation it’s got some good story but…You need to make more story lines like it’s not always Taylor say if you die you restart and it’s a person named John and they are trapped on a dark planet where you can barely see or Kim who is just lost in the middle of space and can’t track a planet for light years (distance term) or if Taylor dies but sometimes another person or thing picks up the phone and if thing it talks in a unknown language or if someone have them say something like “We’re alive!” And the three dots pop up indicating they are typing but the message doesn't get through until like 3 hours later where they get back in signal and say something like I’ve been trapped here on *blank* and have them explain showing that they know more like we crashed because we didn’t know that this planet had a stretched gravitational pull and pull the story further but of course it has to end eventually but do you see what I mean when there could be more to this.
misty owl,
Really Well Made!
I’m not willing to talk about what things i didn’t like about this game (mainly cause i didn’t find anything) so i will be talking about the games ups! As a starter, Taylor is a very interesting character. They don’t seem open to do much but will already give it a try. Sure, they jokes get old fast but they are trying. Second, the format of this game is really cool! When i downloaded it for the first time, I thought it was gonna be a open world game. I actually like this better! The one thing i like the most is how there are time stamps between when Taylor does something ( such as traveling somewhere or looking for something) and when going to sleep, depending when you started the game, will go to sleep around the time you do! I think that’s really cool!

Other than that, it’s still a cool game! I love the part where you can rewind the choices and try again if you accidentally kill Taylor. Great game!
DesolateTree,
Good Story
It’s interesting enough to keep you coming back. I’m not a fan of the mechanic of having to actually wait for things to progress. It’s taken me a week to get through the first game day. But I realize that’s a core mechanic to the game and it’s what I signed up for so I can’t fault it for that.

Edit: I just beat the game. Definitely worth picking up, but took away a star for two problems that I experienced the whole way. First off, when a lot of chats come in, each new chat scrolls down so it’s hard to read if you’re distracted or just slow. You’re better off waiting for all the chats, try not to read anything too important at the end and read it all after they all come in. Secondly and most annoying, if you don’t have the app open then each chat is a new notification. So that while you’re doing something else, your phone just goes haywire with sometimes 20 new messages. Very annoying and that alone almost makes me give it three stars.
Sky fly decked Tori,
Absolutely amazing
This game is one of the most unique concepts and greatest games I’ve played, and I don’t mean to do nothing but hype the game because like any game it had its issues, the only one I would be able to see however was certain discrepancies between it is obvious that “Taylor” the main character is speaking to you but at times when you reply to him it seems as you are genuinely typing in response to his spoken communication. (For example when giving an answer he might say “sarcasm is difficult to understand from print” or something along the lines) but other than that which obviously is a very minute issue. It was great, it allowed me to get through work and school and reply periodically so I got to maintain gameplay and understanding of the story without committing hours on end of my free time. Thank you guys for this game. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Keep up the good work
Crystalette,
Alright, first time rating an App.
As a book writer and daydreamer who loves stories, and spends ALL my spare time dreaming up fantasy scenarios, this. Was. Amazing.
I instantly loved Taylor. His humor, yet openness had me connect with him so fast. He feels like a real person and has a strongly built personality!
I loved that this game was all in real time, so when the sun goes down, Taylor goes to bed and won’t contact you again until the morning. If he says the walk will be about an hour long….he’s not contacting back until an hour later. It was so much fun and had me checking my phone for his texts constantly!
I really hope that they come out with more stories. But until then…I think I’m gonna pay the extra 3 bucks and buy Lifeline: Silent Night for more Taylor. Hopefully, he remembers me and I will NOT have to start our relationship ALL over, lol
citrus farmer,
Interesting and fun
I have been playing this game for just a few hours, and it is very interesting and unique. It is a text based game where you interact with a character called Taylor. You help guide Taylor after his ship crashes on a nearby planet. Taylor interacts as a real person would when sending and receiving your messages. At certain points you will see the message that Taylor is busy and there is no communication with him until he returns. At which point I closed the app. A little later I received what looked like a real text message from Taylor reporting on ther events that happened when he was away. That really made me feel that Taylor was a real person. I am really intrigued by this game and cannot wait to see what other surprises are in store for Taylor. Thank you for making this game it is very well done.
hair cut out shell,
Boring
This game is ok, I liked playing it. BUT the storyline is super short, there are so many loose ends that are never tied up, and there are options that could be presented that I don’t get. SPOILER ALERT: for example, I would like to be able to go back and check on the captain after he puts her in the medical case thing, but that’s never presented as an option. I also buried my crew, but they ended up being “infected” anyway so the outcome is the same regardless. I would also liked more places for Taylor to go, maybe he is stranded for several years and has to figure out how to protect himself against the green things. It would be a good side quest to figure out their weaknesses and kill them in an attempt to save himself. I love the concept of this game, but it needs a LOT more storyline, and maybe more characters that have to help each other.
Then the epilogue story is even worse than the main story. There needs to be improvements made for this game to be epic, it has the potential to be, but not as it is now.
